It only comes on if you have the headlights on the front of the tractor on. The ones mounted in the hood. It illuminates the hand controls on the right hand side. I'll be making some more tractor videos soon and I'll try to hit on this subject if I can remember.
Are you able to get me the length from tip of bucket to end of 3pt arms?! Looking to see if it will fit in the garage and my local dealer is struggling to find me the measurement as they have non on the lot!
The only think I can think of that you might have wished you had got a 4 wheel drive model but if your not going up hills that are almost straight up or going over stuff that would take a 4 wheel drive you will be fine.

420/34s on rear and I can't remember the front right off hand but it's standard spec for the m4d-071
