    Rithvik is simply an animal with instant pressure, pace and placement. He is the triple threat! Rishvanth is not far behind, just younger with less strength but tons of talent. He will be an animal very soon. Winston is great too! A key difference between Winston and the two brothers can be seen in how they are returning serve. Rithvik is in tight to the line and moves forward on every return of serve. Rishvanth varied his approach sometimes returning from deep and sometimes rushing in close but very intentional either way having a plan before the serve is even hit and always moving forward at impact. This is a key point as you watch Winston's return of serve which is variable and often without intention. Winston seemed to be "reacting" to the serve. When Winston was comfortable to move forward at impact he was rewarded with a better return. More often than not, Winston's first step was either completely lateral or often was a step backward resulting in a weak return or mishit return with weight moving in the wrong direction. I think all amateur players can benefit from having a plan prior to the serve and committing yourself to moving forward coming out of a split step with a quick and compact unit turn but moving forward into impact. Great video and enjoy seeing the difference between players of different levels. Also enjoy hearing the strategy out takes between points. Good to learn what is in the head of great players.

    It’s crazy how the dynamics of Rishvanth’s game changed. When he played against he brother he was always defensive or neutral, but when he played against Winston he became much more aggressive,by using his forehand and coming to the net.

    The insane pace coming off of Rithvik's racquet is obviously impressive, but perhaps more so is his incredible footwork. One of the most clockable differences between a player like him and Winston (no offense Winston lol)

    • @xngr
      @xngr 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree. If you had both of them just hit some forehands through the middle, I'm pretty sure the difference in level wouldn't be nearly as visible. But then once some movement is involved the difference is massive. People really underestimate the fitness and discipline it takes to be that mobile and explosive on every single shot.

    • @smueller12244
      @smueller12244 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@WinstonDu , one thing that might help, is strengthening the top spin crosscourt backhand so you are running around the forehand less and in position more. Your forehand can be a weapon, but with tired feet it losses power. Lots of times your weight is back hitting a defensive topspin forehand that lacks depth and pace compared to more experienced players. Well played nonetheless.

    This was most entertaining. I can see with the tweener, underhand serve and trolling who Rishvanth is a fan of. Rithvik's forehand is a beast. I'd like to see his forehand vs. Karue's backhand. Nice comments at the end. WInston you should watch Karue's latest video on footwork. It's such an innovative way to frame it instead of just saying "move your feet". I tried it out today and it made such a difference in getting out of the bad habit of being flat-footed in between shots. Always be moving (those feet). Maybe have 2 on 2. Same teams as today but team up Karue with Rishvanth.

    Today I picked up my racket for the first time since I played on my high school team (grad 2018). I wrapped a fresh overgrip on, bought a fresh can of balls and headed to my old HS tennis courts to hit against the wall (rip all my old tennis buddies that moved across the country). That wall must’ve had a 12+ UTR! It was hitting winners on me left and right (no pun intended). Only bringing 3 balls when it’s my first time hitting in 4 years was probably an oversight on my part. That 10’ fence around the court wasn’t cutting it, I needed a Top Golf net for my shots! I’m sure I’ll regain a lot of my skill back fairly quickly if I play a few times a week. My problem is I don’t know anyone around my area that plays tennis, and I don’t want to commit to a club. That leaves me with the 12+ UTR wall :/

    Winston does not play a strategic game. He just sits behind the baseline and the accuracy is not there he will lose every time unless he plays someone with the same level of game, also why is he crouched down standing behind the baseline like he’s going to receive some rocket, he receiving a child’s serve, move in inside the baseline and take the ball on the rise and keep moving in. He doesn’t play the right game as he really has no strategy but to stand there and hit it back to the opponent u til he misses. This is his problem.

    Good game. Everyone played well, I think one of the biggest difference between the 2 brothers and Winston is Winston's shots are too high and loopy to create the spin in his shots. The result is sometimes it goes deep but quite often its just not deep enough so the younger brother can easily puinsh it. If he plays a bit flatter and willing to play a bit risky with lines/side shots instead of hitting it directly back to the opponent, outcome would be quite different.

    Can I add an observation, it looks like your weight is landing on the heel rather than on the ball of your feet, which makes the movement heavier and slower, and less pleasing to the eye. Do you feel the same?

    Rithvik vs hermont would be a good match too.

    This is really interesting. From a pure stroke perspective, there doesn't seem to be that huge of a gap between Winston and the juniors,. To me, the most obvious difference is Rithvik is always balanced and moving forward, whereas Winston is often off balance.

    Be honest, feel like the lil brother is being tactful holding back at beginning vs big brother, and saves energy for the comeback. If true, thats one hell of a player! Gg for all of you guys!

    you have to reduce your net clearance in order to put more pressure on your opponent. also a little less spin maybe would help to be more aggressive. good serve you've got.

    It's funny to see how Rishvanth (little bro) tightens up and hits more tentatively and makes more unforced errors against Rithvik (big bro) but when playing against Winston, he completely loosens up, hits big and goes for it. I suppose the historical defeats against big bro is giving him a little PTSD. 😂 He's a great player though! He just needs to believe in himself more against tougher opponents.

    The reason Rishvanth had trouble holding serve was because he hasn't work on serving to the backhand side. Rithvik can easily hit a good return off Rishvants 2nd serve off his forehand. Rishvants kick serve is good for a junior but Rithvik is on another level so serving to his backhand is Rishvant's best bet to get into the points.
