That is great that you were able to get all 3 names! Don't worry about the speed yet, it get's easier and easier with time and practice, keep up the great work
I have been studying ASL for the past few days and i said 'oh it's not that hard' so I thought i could understand but let me tell you,i couldn’t even read at the third speed😂😂😂
I’ve been studying for 5 years, 2 of those years in a full immersion classroom with a Deaf teacher and I still can’t hold down a conversation and understanding finger spelling is one of the most difficult ones for me to grasp still after 5 years. Doing it is fine, understanding it is another issue
😂😂 waw but if u want u cant start with some basic conversation videos and repeat them over and over agian so that u feel u got good at those and practice every day the colors alphabets and how to say WEEK OR MONTH or even numbers and practice in ur comfort zone every day or when u have the time to . Hope u will get the best of ur experience ❤❤best wishes 😊good luck and im sure u will get better !!
1. Paul - got it on the beginner speed (getting warmed up) 2. Peter - advanced/intermediate speed (wrote "peter" on my paper after the advanced but wasn't 100% sure until I saw it in the intermediate speed) 3. Timothy - intermediate speed Feeling pretty good! Glad for the receptive fingerspelling practice!
Ohh wow, I did not know that fingerspelling could be done that quickly. I was only able to understand the slower speed. However, I am a new ASL beginner so I can only understand very slow speeds right now. Thank you for your helpful videos.
That was... enlightening. I now understand how one could have a conversation with people who are of equally advanced proficiency, and particularly when mentioning someone you both know, and in context, it wouldn't slow down the conversation much. Goals.
Paul, Peter, and Timothy. I had to go back a few times. I got it at the slower speed. I can do my alphabets when signing but when watching it not so easy.🤔 You are a great teacher, thanks for teaching me.😊

I am learning ASL (basically just through your vids since online lessons are too expensive according to my parents) but my fingers have trouble doing some signs (like the letter y, and similar ones that screech your hands.) Are there any hand exercise stretch things I can do to make my hands more flexible?
Paul, Patrick, Timothy For the first one, I didn’t get it completely until the beginner pace. Second one I got at the medium speed. The last one I got the speed! Yay
That's great, the more practice the better! Feel free to check out my other fingerspelling videos if you want to challenge yourself some more 🙂 How long have you been learning ASL?
Paul Peter Timothy. I guessed them all correctly at the fastest speeds, but wasn't 100% sure, until I saw the intermediate speeds. I'm a bit out of practice, so I'm happy with that!
i started taking an ASL class yesterday and i have a low level understanding of fingerspelling but i was able to understand: Paul - watching it once then pausing the video to think on beginner Peter - watching it twice on beginner and pausing to think Timothy - i wasn't able to figure it out until I looked at the comments then realized i was reading "o" as "s" oops lol, i also struggle with being told a word or name letter by letter and being able to make sense of it so hopefully ill be able to improve through the course of my class!
thank you so much for these videos! my friend is deaf in one ear and is becoming totally deaf and your videos make it so much easier to communicate with her.
I been learning for 4 days now and was able to understand but had to do it at the slower sign. Im not advanced to go fast i have to think a little but i got it right! Thank you!!

I'm a beginner. I want to use ASL properly. I assumed that when signing the letter "O" that you held your hand so you can see the opening (the "o") part of the sign. Does it matter which way your hand is turned when signing the letter "O"?

I was able to get them at the intermediate speed. My finger spelling is slow as I am new to ASL. I am also struggling not to guess/assume what someones name is as they finger spell. The full speed is far beyond my brains current capacity to prcoess, but I am looking forward to when I can.

Got all three names, but I've just started learning ASL, so I had to proceed at the slowest pace, and even stop the video periodically. I would like to see more of these videos.
A couple of options you could do would be to pause and shift over a bit after completing the first name or you could drop your hand for a moment and then finger spell the last name

I have tried asking him but it will take so long to visit and learn to sign. So during the visit we will be writing most things on paper, and you can’t totally get all your thoughts down. Any advice? Anyway, your videos about just signing, then seeing if I can understand is very helpful. Due to you not doing signed English vs ASL, Thanks!! 🙂
@@ChrisGorges thank you,,,i've just started learning a couple months ago...since we're in quarantine what better time...I love it and i'm having much more success than i thought i would

i only got paul
I have a close friend who is deaf but they do signed English. I have been using books, TH-cam etc. but my friend corrects those signs even though it says signed English it is very confusing. 🙂
I got Paul, Peter, and Timothy all at the beginner level. The second time I rewatched the fingerspelling I understood at the intermediate level.
Awesome! 🙌
What we're the three names?
Name 1:Paul. Name 2:peter. Name 3:Timothy!

@@ChrisGorges thank you,,,i've just started learning a couple months ago...since we're in quarantine what better time...I love it and i'm having much more success than i thought i would
I got Paul on the first one, and Peter and Timothy on the second one!
Excellent 👏👏👏
I think I got the first two at the basic level. The third, I want to say was Timothy but am not sure.
I had to rewatch once for timothy but I got the others at normal speed the first time :)
At what speed was most comfortable for you?
the slowest speed when I turned the video down to .5 speed was the only way I could understand it😂😂 but I did just start today
@@emilymeeks Extra points for perseverance! Great job getting the names 👍
paul, peter, and timothy. im only understanding finger spelling at the beginner level. I did have to rewind the video about 3-4 times with each name before i understood what it said.
Names:
Paul
Peter

Perfect!
it took a while but i broke it down and it was really nice and i feel smart heh
Paul, Peter, Timothy, but had to rewind. I was HUMBLED by the first speed.
