So there is a tuning channel out of Australia that has built these and they did this but used Darten sleeves and forged crank. The other issue is balancing because this is a very unbalanced engine. Mainly off the oil pump.

Crank is factory forged on these. I haven't had any issues with the balancing at high rpms, I'm not raising the rev limit at all since I haven't done any valve or cam work. If the oil pump is unbalanced I'd imagine you would know very quickly by 7k rpm. I drove a subaru with a slightly out of balance Crank and you could feel it vibrating like crazy. Eventually I'll get another block to sleeve, but I'm going to run this out for now, I don't have an upgraded trans so the highest torque I'll want to push is 390 ish or I'll have to get really creative with the tune up to and stick to roll racing.

@@projectrandomCO I would highly suggest using an upgraded intake manifold. So the Australian channel used an aftermarket one for an n55 and cut it. And they have upgraded cams for the n20. But the big bottle neck I can see with this build is going to be air density and moving air in and out of the head. I will have to get back to you on the channel as they have FB groups and other pages when they and other are posting everything they have done. But for the air density issue get a two stage water meth injection one at the turbo impeller. And one near the intake side. And yeah no hard launching the car with that stock trans. 3 ways going about it. Swap trans for the one out of crashed x5 and you want a 35d as it can handle way more power. That’s the cheap way or find a manual transmission. Little harder to find in the states. Or go full crazy and get a dual clutch from an Mcar. I am in a FB ZF group that shows how to do these swaps.

Not sure what you mean? I like to build cars and bikes and this was a fun project. I don't want to be like everyone else and this car fell in my lap with a blown moto for $2900 so why not.

Why hate on the n20? Just cause it’s a 2.0 doesn’t mean you shouldn’t tune it. It is lighter than the n55

@@projectrandomCOwill warn you they have an imbalance issue so it can affect it at higher power and the crank is very weak can’t handle much power. The trans is another issue but if you don’t hard launch it should handle power on highway pulls. With trans tune.

@michaelbrooks9462 yeah Trans is good for maybe 450-500, crank is forged from factory though. Build is 80% complete, channel has all the videos. Thanks man!

@@projectrandomCO the crank is forged where have you seen that? I have a 328i at stock it makes something like 241 bhp. I would love to push 450 out of it. Do you have a list of the parts you used and do you plan dino it?
