    Hey All, I just got the website launched with all of my build info. I will update it along the way with any new stuff I add. I also have all of my turbo piping on order, going to try to frankenstein some things together to make it work without spending 3k on a custom setup. www.projectrandom.com

    • @projectrandomCO
      @projectrandomCO  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I probably won't get close to 8 unless I dump some serious parts into this thing. I'm looking closer to 500 for reliability. Maybe 6, the pistons are slightly higher compression than stock and there have been some nice aftermarket parts released for the N20 to help make reliable power. The b58 fueling and larger bolt on turbos with the current head set up will get mid 500's pretty easy with what's already on the car. There are a few companies that make upgraded ZF transmissions up to 1500 hp/1200 tq. That will be a must past 450-500.

    Hey there, Nice project, Keep it up! I just wanted to ask you one thing, I also have N20 and it's widely known issue that Timing chain kit is made of literal garbage plastic, Which no matters what, will definitely break down. Why no one has ever made same kit with different material? Can't it be done?

    • @projectrandomCO
      @projectrandomCO  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hey, I haven't seen any different materials for them. It's not too bad changing it out in the car with the right tools. I did it a while back when I changed my head gasket with the motor still in. I would definitely recommend changing it and upgrading the sprockets to the laser etched ones to help with the motor slipping out of time.

      @820performancecomptonbro4 should be able to pick it up at the auto parts store, it's valve cleaner sort of like seafoam but a little more potent. Pour it down each cylinder and let it sit and add more every few hours. You'll need an oil change after since it will leak past the rings and get in the oil. If it doesn't improve at all you probably have a few broken pistons. I have 3 oem ones in good shape, 100k miles on them but normal wear. My number 4 blew up though. Otherwise you can pick them up anywhere online.

    this is really cool, im trying to achieve something similar with a b48 gen 1, can anyone here confirm that is just the pistons that where cast, im pretty sure the rods and crankshaft are forged, i have the higher compression b48 11.0:1, essentially the b58 just 2 less cylinders, even has the same HP50 transmission.

    • @projectrandomCO
      @projectrandomCO  ปีที่แล้ว

      The B58s are able to hold insane power stock, if the 48 is the same setup I think you should be good with quite a bit of power before you run into any issues. I am not sure if they are cast or forged but I am pretty sure one is cast and one is forged just not sure which is which rods or piston.
      Are those blocks decked from the factory? Once I get this car where I want it I am definitely looking into getting a b48 or b58 car, I am really loving the BMW platform! Also there are a few different companies that make bulletproof hp45-95 transmissions up to like 1500 HP.

      @@Reaper_f30 Awesome, I say go for it, if you have some mechanical aptitude it's not difficult to rebuild these, I was surprised at how easy everything was once I got the engine out of the car. I just got an Evo2 intercooler and have my fueling for full e85 on the way. Last thing is a big turbo to see how far I can push this thing. I would love to sit around 500-600 reliably, I think with a big enough turbo I can make some real power on lower boost, the challenge is finding that sweet spot for fast spool but enough flow to keep temps down at a higher RPM. I wouldn't want to push much past 35psi on the current setup, i'll need some head work and those 4 corner 10mm bolts switched out to ARPs. Only other thing is the trans, that is probably going to grenade at that power haha.
