    Thanks for informative video Mark. I have both items and managed to get them to work very well with just a small adjustment to the Bulin Q1 Burner. Take off the top plate, then also the bottom spreader plate. Spread that bottom plate out nice and far so they can it on the Nano's pins. Then, with pliers bend the furthest edges of the spreader plate into a more vertical alignment. They tend to splay outward. Once they are vertical you will have the horizontal area sitting on the pins, and the edges out of the way and not hitting the Nano sides. Worked very well for me. Love this setup!! Take care and keep on with great videos!

    Good to know. I too bought the Bulin burner. It was a fraction of the cost when I got mine. I bought the Bulin burner to use in my Trangia stove. I wouldn't have even thought to try it in my Nano. I have an affinity for using alcohol burners. I've mistakenly relit an alcohol firepit when it wasn't cool enough and singed my eyelashes, eyebrows, and a halo of hair around my face. The flash was fast. Learned a big lesson.

    The better thing about the clone trangia gas burner is that in the tests I’ve seen it burns canisters inverted better than the trangia, might be better to try to make it work in the nano, just need to bend the wings out a little and maybe grind/cut some of the corners of the wings off so they fit into the corners better 🤔

    I have an older Trangia brand gas adapter. It has a much bigger control knob on the valve, which won't fit through the feed holes on my 5" Gen 2. I cut a notch at the top of the feed hole to allow entry. For the Nano, you might get what you want by drilling holes at a lower level for the support bars, at the same time moving them in a bit to align with the 'hooks' on the burner.

    Good video. These hiking stove projects are always interesting and nicely challenging when you try to combine parts from different manufacturers together and make them more versatile than originally. Maybe you could make your own adapter for that gas burner

    I think I know why the Bulin clone didn't fit: The shape of the Nano isn't rectangular and you had to turn the Bulin 90 degrees, because the valve didn't pass through the higher opening. Now, the Nano sticks are placed differently and the retaining bracket butts up against the side wall of the Nano. I have the original Trangia gas burner which fits perfectly. Anbother difference between original Trangia and Bulin: The rigid gas pipe underneath of the Bulin is longer than that of the Trangia, in a way that it becomes tricky when installing it in a Trangia Triangle. It fits just about, though (in the Triangle)

    Just go buy the Trangia gas adaptor. I wouldn’t be messing about looking to solve a problem that doesn’t exist. I have a dozen stoves, don’t we all? When I want one to work, I need it to work, why bodge about with an adaptor?

    You’re fired. 😀
    Sooner or later you were bound to get bit on the butt for using all that cheap Chinese junk. I’ll use that stuff sometimes when the price is ridiculous just for the name brand, but I generally pony up for intellectual property, and or local made

    • @MarkYoungBushcraft
      @MarkYoungBushcraft  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup, what I get for being cheap. In truth, I had thought I would try the Bulin and then decide if I wanted to pay the premium for the Trangia but never got to it. Thanks for commenting Jim

    • @jimf1964
      @jimf1964 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MarkYoungBushcraft Yeah, I get it though. Sometimes they charge such a ridiculous price for something that’s basically a stamped piece of metal or something. I try to buy from the originals, but sometimes they make it hard. All that being said, I’ve rarely seen any of those cheaper Chinese knock offs having comparable quality.
      If I was a casual user, which I often am nowadays, the Chinese stuff would be good enough
