    I've had the SS version as well as the titanium nano for several years now. I got the 5" titanium right when it came out. I took it on a 4 night trip through Alagheny and it was perfect. Very light and I could cook a steak on it with minimal wood. I now keep the stainless one in my car. I use it with a trangia burner for car camping. The nano is a permanent fixture in my cook kit. Firebox makes wonderful stoves.

    Fantastic review! We are pretty big fans of the Firebox stoves.. they are certainly “leave no trace” not to mention a great survival tool. It doesn’t take a lot of effort to get enough wood to keep it burning for hours. We have been using the Titanium 5” for about 2 years now and it has yet to let us down. Enjoy! Cheers!

    I stared years ago with the stainless Nano Gen 2 stove. Liked it and switched to the Nano in Titanium due to the lighter weight. The 1st of this year I went to the Titanium Firebox 5 inch. Never regretted any of my choices in the Firebox stoves. The reason I went over to the 5 inch stove is because of the versatility of it , you can do so much more with it then the others. As I read on TH-cam a while back , one person listed it as the " Swiss Army knife of stoves". That folks is the only way to describe it.

    I love my SS version and I never realized how versatile it was until I really made an effort to bring it out more often. It still is super heavy though. Just not sure if I can stomach the price tag for the TI right now. But one day she will be mine. Oh yes, she will be mine. Great vid Wade. 👍👍

    I'll answer before watching LOL - yep - I am in love with this stove. simplicity, diversity, and awesome engineering. I waited until the titanium to buy, since I already owned the nano and was loving it - but now so glad I finally bought G2 TI and won't leave home without it. wood, tangia, solid gel, and gas. adjustability, variety of setup, yep I'm sold.
    so now to watch the video hoping you agree(which I'm 99% thinking you will). oh and thanks again for your review on the stainless one. as I commented on that vid, it helped me make the choice of getting the TI one or not. 👍 from me Wade

    • @Kenbur
      @Kenbur 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Woodswalker1965 yes my nano will still be used in several situations but the G2 has already slipped into my 'must be with' when out of the city for any reason. It may even take the place of my BioLite 2 setup in some emergency situations even if it can't generate power, especially in a weight/size restricted situation.

  • @theaberrantdon
    @theaberrantdon 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I already have a steel firebox, same as you. I just wish it was lighter. I didn't know if I should get a titanium grill grate, or if the meat would stick. I also didn't know if I could get a good sear on the meat without the heat retention of the steel. I think you did well on both parts, so I'll get the titanium grill grate. Thanks for the great video that answered all my questions!

    • @Woodswalker1965
      @Woodswalker1965  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question. So they both warped about the same in my opinion. They are easily manipulated back into shape and it doesn’t negatively impact its use.
      Both are still very solid.

    • @Woodswalker1965
      @Woodswalker1965  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Thanks for this helpful video! How hard was it to clean the titanium grill after cooking that steak? Harder, easier, same as cleaning the stainless grill plate? And do you see any bending/warping in the titanium firesticks? Wondering if it would be better to pick up stainless firesticks for my extra set.

    • @Woodswalker1965
      @Woodswalker1965  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Cleanup was the same as for SS. As far as warping goes…overall there was a bit of warping here and there but it’s easily bent back into shape. I don’t feel like the firestick warping is a problem. Hope that helps👍

    I like them both. I am watching a stove called the bushbox xl since a long time. Its very simular to the firefox. There are stainless steel and titanium versions too. Stainless steel has the best heat transfer power in cooking. It is especially good for keeping food warm. an oven effect.
