It is amazing what Honda has done with that FWD car, for it to handle so dam well. Even getting into the Civic, the deep seat bolsters are a reminder of the Recaro's in the Evo. Another great handling car, like being on a rail is the current gen NSX, another Honda, that the Type R can go toe to toe with in the handling department. Have driven ton's of Audi's as well, and the Quattro is fantastic, but it does not have a dam thing on Acura's SH-AWD, of which, I have seat time in every model with that setup, and they are all superb. Honda/Acura needs better brakes, as they tend to fade quite a bit. I hope the new Type R handles even better. If it does, nothing else in that category can touch it. Thank you 😊👍 There are a couple of rules like only passing on the left, etc. (you find them on the official Nurburgring homepage) but also some etiquette like twinkle on right to show the car behind to pass or in general moving to the right if you have quicker cars in the back 😀 You will see the flow of the car in front of you when to pass or not, it’s rarely an issue, in case of doubt just wait a few curves to pass 💨 Enjoy the Nordschleife, it’s the best track in the world and a lot of fun 😆👍👋

I’m just curious…the camera is moving around a bit. Is there also a rear passenger filming as well? I also own a 2021 Type R. I installed a Hondata Flashpro tune and another tune from Phearable Stage 2. It really made the Type R’s power delivery, shifting, etc….so much smoother. Not kidding! It would be interesting to see your opinion the Phearable Stage 2 Tune especially the way you push your Type R to the limit! Fantastic video by the way! Keep it up and be safe!
@@justwingingit1 Thank you Martin 😊 😃
The camera is fixed, it’s a go pro hero 8 and it automatically moves the angle, I have not yet found out how to stop this, probably it’s even not possible to fix 🤷♂️
Thanks for sharing your experience on the tuning, that’s really great to hear about good results! 👌 Do you also push your CTR often to the limit? I’m a bit hesitant with tuning especially because I push the car often to the limit on the racetrack and believe it gets more vulnerable 🤔 It would be interesting to know if the CTR easily bear such updates
Cute little Honda kept up to a base Porsche. Very cute 🥰!
Well, this is true 🤣😂😁👍
@@NordschleifeTypeR 🤣 Go Honda! 🇯🇵.
Now can we can get a Type R Honda tank to destroy Nazi Russians in Ukraine 🇺🇦? 😝
@@billyrock8305 you are an idiot 🤡 boy 😂
That thumbs up at the end. The whole time they were like brothers having fun on the track
Yes, definitely 👍
I actually didn’t know the Porsche driver but it was a really fun lap 😄😃
The skill you have will make you enjoy driving in any vehicle. Really cool and good job.
Thank you 😊👍
The Civic makes a lot of fun and is fast enough 😁😅
I think the better driver here was the one behind the wheel of the CTR! That thing is fantastic in the corners. I can’t believe you were on the GTS the whole time. Bravo.
Thank you 😊👍
It was definitely a good but on the edge lap 😅
great driving from both of you! fantastic video!!
Thank you John 😊👍
Are you using slick tires?
What a grip!!!!
I‘m driving Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires which is a semi-slick, it has slick characteristics but is allowed on the street 👍😃
You are an awesome driver! So smooth, obviously know the track very, very well.
I have a quick question: I have an FK8 as well and was interested in what other modifications did you do (brakes, cooling, etc.)?
Thanks a lot.
Thank you 😊👍
great to hear that you also drive an FK8, I‘m driving light weight wheels (titan 7) 9.5x18 with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi slicks 265/35 ZR18, engine/cooling is stock no mods (works well like this), brake pipes made of steel with other fluid, that’s it and apart of less power with warm temperatures everything works well, there is quite a difference if it’s cold or warm outside probably another cooler would help
You're better in the corners than the Porsche. For me, that means you're better.
@@lorcanroche2987 The Porsche have to "open the road" ,it's harder. By the way the cayman suspension more a bit more due to central engine setup. I think the driver in front show great balls either, he know where to place his car when slower traffic force him in awkard line.
@@lorcanroche2987 thank you 😊👍
@@TakumiFujiwara80 I mean the cayman driver was also driving extremely well and knowing the track, by the way it was a really fast lap considering some traffic 😃👍
Is there a third person in the back moving the camera lol ?
No the camera is fixed, I guess this is a functionality of the GoPro but didn’t found out how to stop it 🤷♂️
@@NordschleifeTypeR ist aber auch cool, dass sie sich bewegt 🔥
Great driving, VTEC sounded amazing
Thank you Chris 😊👍
What engine and transmission oils were in the R during this run?
I guess the standard oils as I do the service at a Honda garage 😃
Man that was one hell of a drive and that CTR is one hell of a car!
You were molestin’ that Porsche ass for half of the track!
Congrats on a great drive and stay safe bro!
Thank you Milos 😊😅 The car is really amazing and a lot of fun👌 Take care 🙋♂️
Type R's are insane. Cornering is sharp. Good one mate.
Thank you ☺️👍 The Type R is absolutely amazing for the track 🚀
Nice driving, you deserve more subscribers
@NAUFAL SAN Thank you 😊 that’s a interesting observation with the subscribers 😀👍
Wow on stock suspension and was cornering faster than that Porsche , Amazing engineering by Honda no wonder they leading the F1 class also with red bull , this car doesn’t get enough credit to how Amazingly good it was build and how crazy the handling really is , wow 🤩
Absolutely, the Type R is a fantastic car and amazing to drive on track 🚀👍😁
That was AWESOME! Thank you!!!
@Lew F Thank you 😊👍😃
Are you getting the 2023 type R?
If it’s faster then this one, then definitely 😁👌
does the fwd mode engaged on this run?
What do you mean? 🤷♂️
That 718 was no joke tho
Yes 🚀😁👍
Your passage speed in the curves are astonishing, do you use race wheels ? Or something like Michelin PSC2 ?
Thank you 😊👍
Yes I’m driving Michelin PSC 2 with size 265/35 R18 and light weight wheels 😁
@@NordschleifeTypeR Wouah ! Thank you very much for your answer =) Why did you choose 18' wheels, is it to better prevent road irregularities ? And did you have to reset your speedometer ?
@@florianbuchheit4706 😊 Yes, I choose 18” because with that have more sidewall, the wheels are lighter being smaller and generally the driving is better 😃
The 18”tires are also less expensive and this is also a great side effect 😄
The speedometer has not changed as the difference is below 2% which is an acceptable threshold by the street policies 👋
@@NordschleifeTypeR thank you for the precision ! :) And great job, it's a pleasure to see this video. I drive a 1.5 v-tec with CVT gearbox, it's really great to drive but clearly not the same league :D
You’re so fast🔥 How skilled you are!!
Is the guy driving the Porsche your friend??
Someday I wanna drive at the ‘Ring… Big love from Japan🤗
Thank you 😊
I‘ve actually met the Porsche driver on that lap and did not know him before 😅
Really love the Honda, greetings to 🇯🇵 and let me know should you be around one day 😀👋
Great driving man, question for you. Any mods on the R?
Thank you 😊👍
I‘m driving light weight wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires 265/35 R18, Endless break pads 🔥
@@NordschleifeTypeR very nice! The important mods. Thank you for the reply can’t wait to see more!
@@honeydew1517 😁👍🔥
Bravo!! Great drive!!
You made the Porche driver look silly & HONDA's engineers makes Porche's engineers looks silly that in 1/3 of the price the HONDA gets the same performance!!
Thank you 😊 yes the performance of the Honda is very comparable, so save 2/3 and drive more on the track 🤣😂😅
It's called the driver mod. The 718 missed apex after apex. The Type R is a great car, but this a classic battle between a good driver in a fast car vs an average driver in a faster car.
@@johnstewart1106 Thank you John 😊 it was definitely a nice battle 😅
Are you kidding? A Honda will never compare to a PORSCHE!!!
@@Alfra1324 Well in the video it does 🤷♂️
What year is your Type R the Porches run but the Type R jdm tuff motor
It’s 2019 year
Legendary driving skills
Amazing to see the CTR catch the Porsche in the corners. Testament to the driver and the CTR
Thank you very much 😊👍
The CTR is a fantastic car for the track and a lot of fun 😁👌
Nice easy lap for the Cayman. He can do another 100 laps on those tires and brakes.
The Honda seems to be maxed out.
Recommend European Delivery, if you have the chance. Pick up car at Factory and then drive the Ring.
@@dafrasier1 yes in the Honda driving like this I can do only 35-40 laps with the tires and 40-50 with the break pads 🥹
@@NordschleifeTypeR wow. yes that is very hard driving. New car every year.
Awesomme video! Planning to drive on the Nordschleife in the near future. How do you know when to pass someone? Do you go for the gap when they open up or is there some kind of known etiquette for passing other cars? I doubt I'll go fast enough to pass anyone but just curious.
Thank you 😊👍
There are a couple of rules like only passing on the left, etc. (you find them on the official Nurburgring homepage) but also some etiquette like twinkle on right to show the car behind to pass or in general moving to the right if you have quicker cars in the back 😀
You will see the flow of the car in front of you when to pass or not, it’s rarely an issue, in case of doubt just wait a few curves to pass 💨
Enjoy the Nordschleife, it’s the best track in the world and a lot of fun 😆👍👋
I test drove a Type R and it was truly exhilarating, but I'd be spending too much on speeding tickets as you really don't feel the speed in it, so I got the 1.5 turbo instead.
That’s a honest statement and wise 😃👍
I`ve Civic Sport 1.5 turbo Mt, Model 2018
Updated program: 182hp => 230hp, 240Nm => 320Nm
I`ve driven over two years with these settings without any problem.
And believe me, it's lot more fun than stock version.
You have finally made me feel comfortable with my honda. Great skills man.
Thank you Faiq 😊👍
Great driving, the Porsche was fast in the straights, but you had it in the corners and braking.
Thank you 😊👍 in the corners the Civic is an amazing car 😁
What tires are on the CTR and 718?
On the CTR Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, on the 718 I don‘t know 🤷♂️
I really like the new Civics interior. The dash is short like how it was with older generations. It's no longer a mile long.
The interior is really great 👍
The next Gen is even shorter
Civic 2022 dash?? For me is very ugly and old fashioned 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻
What tires are you running on that civic type R
Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 265/35 R18 on light weight wheels 😃👋
Impressive car and chasis the type r: a true giant killer 👍🏻👌🏻
True 😁👍
Nice driving indeed and lots of fun apparently, congrats! Rev match or classic punta taco?
Thank you Rodolfo 😊👍
That’s rev match, it would be nice having that punta taco skill 🤣😁
Damn on straights that Porsche 718 Cayman GTS gets Ghost !
Well it’s a Porsche 🤣😅 let’s put some 50-100 more horsepower on the Civic and it would 🚀🚀🚀
Amazing driving! On the edge of my seat! What camera did you use, and how does it pan back and fourth?
Thank you 😊👍
It’s a GoPro Hero8 and it’s moving alone, it’s a functionality of the camera, didn’t find out how to stop it 🤷♂️😂
Awesome driving sir, what modification have you done to your Type R?
Thank you 😊 I drive light weight wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 semi slicks 265/35 R18
Cayman driver wasn't as skilled / didnt know the track as well, otherwise it would have been a bigger gap. Great driving man!
Thank you 😊👍
Yes you are right, it could have been faster and I was quite on the limit 😁
when Ayrton returns to drive a Honda
@claudio Di Trani 🤣😂👍
That must be a hell of a waiver to sign. No helmet required?
😁👍
These are called tourist drives where everybody can just go and drive 👌
You pay per lap and no helmets are required
There is a clear tire advantage on the Civic. ;)
I actually don’t know which tires the GT4 was driving, but what I know is that I‘m driving Michelin semi slicks 😅😀
@@NordschleifeTypeR those Cup 2 s are great. I have them on my Megane 275. The 718 GTS doesnt get Cup 2 tyres sizes in South Africa. So I suspect it has 4s
