    From 8:07 are you describing the ship or your head? #justchecking ;-) But, in polite world, I've been very impressed with both Cobi and Bricktanks. Cobi produce some fantastic models, and Bricktanks have been outstanding with their speed and friendliness.

    About half a year ago, I saw a review of the Battleship Bismarck from Cobi and thought, oh what the heck, let's give it a try. It was the first brick set I ever build that wasn't Lego. Meanwhile I own 7 ships. Who would have thought that building ship hulls out of bricks could be so satisfying and relaxing? But it is, it really is!

    I've built 2 Cobi ships- the USS Missouri and the Bismark- they are AMAZING, fun to build, great instructions, excellent value, and they look fantastic when you're done. I also have 8 Cobi tanks- I can't possibly recommend these kits strongly enough. An excellent compliment to my Star Wars Lego collection

    Even though I am a big Lego fan, I don’t understand Lego saying no to building WWII model sets and War stuff with guns, when they have no problem making Star Wars and Avengers model sets.
    I’ve been looking at the Cobi model sets for some time now, but have not yet had the guts to buy any. They do look awesome. Thanks.

      the company during WW2 didn't want children learning about violence and things like that
      so much so that the castles were yellow so nobody could build Panzers with them

    • @dawsonreum8096
      @dawsonreum8096 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      It has to do with when the company started. They began in ww2, but at that time I am not 100 percent sure if their name was lego, and they didn't build bricks at that point, they made toys out of metal and wood. I think that during the war, they couldn't use metal to make there toys because metal was used to make tanks and other weapons, and after the war, there was less metal so the company decided to use plastic, asked another company if they could make bricks as well, and the company said yes, so lego improved that company's brick and made it way better, like by adding tubes, and I also think that they may have also been the ones to put studs on the bricks, but I am not 100 percent sure. Afte rthe war, the owner didn't want children to build tanks, so he even made sure the bricks he used were different colors other than grey, tan, I think green maybe, so that kids wouldn't build them, and that rule has stuck, because Lego sees star wars as not acually bloody warfare, so they see it as being fine, and today are not as strict on what their customers can build with their own bricks, but lego doesn't want to be the ones supplying them with tanks.

    Cobi is just great! The Brick quality is nearly as good as LEGO(If not as good or better pls don't kill me) and they wouldn't charge 20 dollars per 100 pieces. Their prints are opaque unlike what we get from LEGO which is almost always never opaque enough prints, and we only prints from Cobi, no dreaded stickers(except of course the decals which is just bonus stuff that they add if you want to customize your set). Now I' don't hate LEGO because I love LEGO, always have and always will but I think it's a great breathe of fresh air when we get stuff we've always wanted from LEGO for cheap that is good quality, unlike what we get from LEGO now like seriously LEGO 80 dollars for General Grievous' starfighter is just an absolute scam! They even recycled the Obi Wan from the Duel on Mustafar set c'mon LEGO I thought "Only the best is good enough" this is some serious corner cutting! I literally need to sell and regrow my kidney just to buy one LEGO set(unless it's a Ninjago set, LEGO has always been pretty generous when they price their Ninjago sets which is great because I love Ninjago)

      I would call Cobi's brick quality even better than Lego's
      Thing is, they don't have any color problems at all, the bricks are litteraly sticking together, it's almost impossible to get them apart.
      Idk if that counts under beick qualuty as well, but the sets are built stable aswell, you can hold the ships with one hand and it doesn't break (if you don't do it too long of course).
      Also they fon't mix every color theycan in their sets AND they produce only in EU

    • @hellojohny6013
      @hellojohny6013 ปีที่แล้ว

      The set quality is not tho.
      I mean planes break all the time. And yoi cant be gentle while building them or else the pieces one stick but if you pressure on em they break

    • @anm10wolvorinenotapanther32
      @anm10wolvorinenotapanther32 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@hellojohny6013 As someone who owns roughly thirty sets most of which are aircraft, I can agree that a very few of the pieces can be a bit fragile(it's almost like they're only meant to be display pieces) but I'm more concerned on how you're building them if you can't reach a middle ground between too gentle and too rough. If you're saying the quality is bad, I'm confident that the problem is more on you and not Cobi's quality control, your spelling certainly doesn't help your argument.

It's great to see other brands getting more original with their sets. I'd be more than happy to send you a non-Lego military set if you see something you like lol (I am a Lego fan as well). Cobi do make some truly excellent stuff, my only real criticism is that imo their tanks are not very accurate don’t generally have as much detail as I would like, but, then again, I am a WWII MOC builder so that may severely increase my expectations as they make models similar to the build quality of Lego, whereas I’m my models I aim to cram as much accuracy and detail in as I find possible.

And to pour salt in the wound when the sets arrived both were damage in transit , meaning I chose to return it the sets but due to Lego being “overwhelmed” by returns right now it’s gonna take over a month to process it and get either a replacement or a refund. 🤬

Respect both Lego's descision to refrain from making military themed offerings (well aside from Napoleonic soliders in pirates, and soldiers in licensed set....well, lol.
