Splaat was a Klasky Csupo series of shorts for Nickelodeon, and there is an archive channel on TH-cam with most if not all the episodes of Splaat. it's called Klasky Csupo Robosplaat. i can actually confirm that wierd hamster video and the monster bone video [the one with the actual animal bones]. the animal bone thing was part of the "live action experimental era" of nick and CN, where they basically took whatever live action they could and threw it on air to see what [if anything stuck]. i specifically remember that odd video of the people walking up the endless hill with the hamster wheels on the sides, because i later had a nightmare about it due to repressing it (it was traumatic seeing it just, show up, mid spongebob episode). I asked my friends about it and apparently a few other people saw it, but due to what time it played, many people did not see it. and the bone thing was a one-off that they never aired again due to the content being frightening to young viewers (this also gave me nightmares, and i clearly remember this playing on tv; but it may have ACTUALLY been playing on CN, rather than nick.)

C'mon it wasn't so bad. It was just a little uncanny valley at best, but for the first animation that used bouncy and jiggly effects to convey emotions and a cartoony feeling, it did its job well.
Also,I am glad CN got Adventure Time. They treated it way better than Nick could ever do.

I think the reason Nick Japan is so low on the iceberg is that it infamously stopped broadcast in the middle of a commercial break, completely without any warning or fanfare whatsoever.

29:00 I'm fairly certain the "Real Life CatDog" is actually a reference to an event where Nickelodeon told people to send in pictures of their cats and dogs and they "merged" the pictures with someone else's during commercial breaks. I remember wanting to send a picture of my dog in as a kid, but was really young at the time so I didn't exactly have the competence to do so.

I live in Latin America, and I just thought the fairly odd parents airing in Disney XD was just a normal occurrence, up until years ago when I realized, why in the living fuck is a nickelodeon show airing in a Disney owned channel, that hit me hard, so hard in fact that it gave a cerebral prolapse and I had to be hospitalized for three months.

Hi, I’m late to this, but I think the “Nick Series Finales” are referencing to how Nick handles most series finales.
If I remember correctly, for animated shows, Nickelodeon does not want a series finale to be like an actual “finale” to a show. Basically the final episode is just a regular episode. No idea if this is true, and if it is true, I have no idea why they do this.
Most likely it’s because they may need to start it back up for more money, and with an actual finale, they couldn’t. So they use a regular episode so they can make another if needed.
The ironic thing about the iceberg trend is that if you know the lower layers, they become the top layer.

Splaat was the mascot of Klasky Csupo, the company that made many shows on Nickelodeon such as Rugrats and Aaahh!! Real Monsters. The entry on the iceberg referring to him might be a reference to how many kids thought he was too scary or just creepy in general. If you want more info about this, just research about him on TH-cam and you'll find more.
dude when I was like 4, Splaat made me paranoid to watch Rugrats because he only showed up at the end of early episodes so it was a crapshoot whether the episode i was watching was gonna be one of the “bad” episodes

For the whole Netflix Nickelodeon Series finales thing, I'm pretty sure it's talking about how Netflix portrays the series finales of Nickelodeon shows as the way they were aired live on TV (unlike most streaming services). A good example is Avatar The Last Airbender. Amazon shows it's finale as multiple episodes, however Netflix shows it as the actual TV movie it aired as.

I remember the non-stop spongebob transmission! It was a 10 year aniversary special for spongebob, where nickalodeon played every episode of spongebob, back to back, non-stop for a full weekend, and ending with a special aniversary episode.
I was 10 at the time and a really big spongebob fan, so i spent the whole time watching spongebob.
It was probably one of the best moments on tv.
Apparently on one of John K's social media or blogs or something, he answered questions regarding the nirvana thing and he said he never even heard of the Kurt Cobain rumor and didn't recall it ever happening
He's not exactly a nice or honest guy though, so I'd take what he says with a grain of salt

The humans to hamster wheel scene sounds a lot like the ‘moloch scene’ from the science fiction classic Metropolis (1927). This movie has dirt cheap rights as it is almost public domain and has played on Classic Movie channels for decades. The movie also has a dramatic scene change right after which would make it hard to recognize in channel surfing. It is also frequently used in video collages. I think this is the culprit. Since all the reddit posts have been archived I’ll just post it here for anyone who wants to solve the mystery.

Great video, loved it! As per Butch's advice, I will be definitely be praying away my autism (a drill to the skull would also likely do a good job, but side effects include death, so I've heard). Also glad that shoebill storks are finally getting more of the recognition they deserve, because they are amazing!
Two really neat additions to the iceberg could be
- The 2013 Salt Lake City Incident, which was when Nickelodeon was in the middle of the Worldwide Day of Play, which was an event where children are encouraged to turn their TVs off and go outside and play while the network goes off the air temporarily, when suddenly a fire had broken out at the Tesoro oil refinery and caused it to emit radiation. The Salt Lake City Police Department initiated an EAS during the ordeal, but it fell on deaf ears due to kids either changing the channel or heading outside to play.
- The Double Dare Injury
The episode in question was filmed but never aired, and involved a child whose bones were more fragile due to a medical condition, but he was allowed onto the show due to him lying on his application. Predictably, he had went down the Sewer Shute and had broken his arm. Host Marc Summers commented that he plummeted down the Sewer Shute and hit the floor, and laid there for a bit. Fearing legal action from the child's lawyer father, Nickelodeon gave the contestant the 7th place Prize as compensation.

I think splat means “the splat” which was a block on teen nick that aired 90s nicktoons and sitcoms....OR it could be referring to the old nickelodeon logo that was a splat.

The SpongeBob constant transmission might be referring to Nickelodeon's constant airing of SpongeBob SquarePants and how some shows could get replaced by spongebob reruns, shows such as Harvey beaks would be given this treatment and moved to the nick toons channel for not being an instant hit, Harvey beak's creator confirms this in some interview he did as he got in trouble with the network for talking about it
It may also refer to a more official "constant transmission" that occured in 2006 for Spongebob's 5th Anniversary. I'm pretty sure they played a 24 hour marathon of Spongebob episodes leading up to the premiere of the Best Day Ever episode.

A few years ago dark and "creepy" cartoon theories were very popular. And as all trends that get too big, it was quickly ruined by a bunch of people making a lot of dumb stuff. Most likely after a certain point some people were just looking for attention by making up the most deranged, darkest theories.

“Splaat” is referring to the logo (Klasky-Cuspo) seen at the end of Rugrats, Wild Thornberrys, Rocket Power, As Told By Ginger, and All Grown Up. Apparently, they made the weird nightmare-ish “robot-type” thing seen in the logo, that freaked many people out when watching it, into an actual character, with its own show, or something. I don’t know anything about the “good guy army”, though.

Dan Schneider could be his own damn iceberg, the more you find out the worse it gets. For god's sake, one of the variations of their logo was a gigantic foot. They even had it prominently displayed above the entrance to their animation studio in Burbank.
Libra here! It was also believed that there were some other signs Squidward talked about, which were allegedly lost, but it turned out there weren't really anymore signs than the ones we got. I'm a little disappointed, because my sign was believed to be one of those lost shorts, and it would've been represented by my favorite character, Squidward himself.

It was on a UK TV channel called ITV in their kids block of shows called CITV. That block was notorious for bulk buying Nick shows even in the 2000’s when I saw it. Each show was presented on a set with presenters and I swear the presenters made a big thing about the finalé saying it’ll only be aired once, but I can’t remember if it was before or after they aired it. They showed an episode in numerical order every week by the way. After that ‘Angry Beavers’ was replaced by something else. Legally they could get away with it since the characters were slighting Nick and not CITV.
But yeah, that’s my old man story. It may still be on rotation since CITV is it’s own kids channel along with Cartoon Network etc. on UK TV.

Splat is the mascot for the animation company Klasky-Csupo. He appeared on the company's closing logo at the end of some of the shows they produce for Nick such as Rugrats and Wild Thornberries. For awhile the logo also appeared at the end of the Spongebob episode "Help Wanted/Krusty Krab Training Video" due to an error. Many people on the TH-cam (mostly children) have made thousands of videos remixing the logo with different video filters and effects. Even one of the people who run Klasky-Csupo commented about it.
