      That's what I thought too. That looked way more intense than any of the recent matches of Gordon's I've watched.

      Meregali is probably gonna win ADCC Absolute and then Gordon will pass on the torch to him and just move on to mma or something. They're more valuable to each other as trainning partners

      @@maxxismycat999 I hope he can keep making enough money grappling and coaching so he doesn't need to get into mma. I think the people we see trying mma from grappling are doing it because they need the money while their body is still up to it. I also hope Pena going into mma is out of love for the sport and not just for cash.

      Probably due to less concern about getting caught in training and also more emphasis on pushing the pace to train in fatigue, as opposed to trying to conserve.

    I'm too impressioned with this sparring with meregali, Meregali evolve so fast in nogi grappling, He did a fucking hard Sparring with Gordon, This sparring was very technical, A true work of art

      The dudes game was de la riva, pulling guard, and loop chokes. Yea it’s impressive. If it was easy to switch Gordon would have tried GI once in the past 10 years.

      ​@@Nicatlotus i can confirm i train at a pure nogi school and all the gi only guys that come to our open mats feel 3 belt levels lower when they dont have the gi, they are physicaly strong and have ok defense but there is never any threat of pass sweep or sub, people that occasionaly train nogi or 1 day a week are lacking for the most part.

    Really impressed with Meregali. Stays quiet and every time he trains/competes, he just grows leaps and bounds. Gordon looks equally awesome. Very cool footage!

      We love jiu Jitsu so we want to see that portion of that but to the average spectator .. they want to watch the scrambles and takedowns and dynamic passing/guard retention sequences..

      It reminds me of when geoerges Paint pierre said: i only train like 20-30 Minutes a day but on Maximum effort because i a fight u only go hard for like 20mins at max.

    Meregali/Gordon are going to have a future war against each other on social media at some point in the future, much like Nicky Rod/Gordon. I feel it's inevitable when you have two alphas in the same weight class, on the same team.

    Anyone that says Gordon Ryan isn’t athletic is incorrect - I think this was the most intense training I’ve seen from him - Merigali is brilliant 🔥

      How do you equate not keeping a car to diminished mental health? I'm not sure, but it was implied that he does this to maintain a uncomfortable environment to promote growth. It may appear insignificant, but I would bet at his level, every advantage, no matter how miniscule, could end up being a mental edge and even possibly, the deciding factor in a match. Or am I jumping out the window at joke and looking like a goofball? 🫣

    Wow... I have never seen training footage of top BJJ athletes going so hard, especially with the wrestling. Of course it must increase the injury risk quite a but but the outcome is creating mosters

    So Gordon gets 30 min Meregali, then 10 mins with Luke? ANd he does look like he actually tries alot, which is why it doesnt look like Gordon tries too hard in actual Matches. In training, you wanna get as tired as possible, and then conserve the energy is an actual match. Make in the gym training actual fucking hell so its not hell out there.
