Hey everyone! Today I bring you a movie I have wanted to watch for a while now! This film was a very different romantic drama then I am used to and I am super glad of how things played out in the film. The directing was also great and felt very grounded with the characters. Thanks for watching and have a great day!! :)

I adore this movie. The director did a great job making such a massive setting seem so intimate.

I really love this movie. It really hits deep. I can’t describe what it is that it makes me feel but it’s there.

When you wrote "zen mode" on the screen I thought, yeah, he gets it, lol.
This is one of those movies I recommend a lot but would absolutely never recommend to a reaction vid channel, lol, because I just feel it would be so disrespectful to talk through it simply 'for our benefit', y'now?
First time writing and directing, Sofia knocked it out of the park. One of those gems you come out of the theatre thinking, well that was just an honour and a privilege to watch.
So glad you checked this out :)

As a young man my favourite movies use to be alot of the action movies you watch on your channel, Aliens, Tango & Cash etc. But from my late 20s and most of my 30s I've always connected with this movie with this sense of feeling a bit lost in life and society

Seeing your shirt with Owen Wilson and Bill Murray both in frame, makes me think... You should totally do a Wes Anderson run. Start with Bottle Rocket (Luke and Owen Wilson's first movie) and move through his filmography. Older Bill Murray is in a bunch of them, and Wes Anderson's movies are really well done from a filmmaking perspective, as well as being fun to watch.

Watch this movie again when you are in your 40s. You'll see a whole lot more in it, maybe.

I wish that more people would do a reaction of Match Point and Under The Skin. Two of my all time favorite Scarlett Johansson movies on my opinion.

Under the Skin is one of the most unique and crazy movies I've ever seen. I heard it took a decade to make.

The fact you picked “pinky-red” … The interplay between pink and red is a major theme in the movie! You’re omniscient.

At budist temples they have these pieces of paper with your fortune for the year. Good luck, bad luck,... and then you tie it to the tree. Maybe it won't come true if you dont but I'm not sure.

I understand your POV at your age, but the story is from the POV of the two American visitors. Coppola has many dear Japanese friends and she wasn't taking potshots at them even if the Bob Harris character did. A lot of Americans are surprised by how little English is available in a major global capital like Tokyo. His character is wealthy and successful, and people like that are often entitled when traveling abroad as well. It's also accurate that someone his age would get very flirty with a friendly younger woman when very drunk, again because of his conditioning and entitlement. So in that sense, that small detail is accurate to character. Even though Bob respects Charlotte enough not to take advantage of her, he's still a very selfish guy. One night later he sleeps with the lounge singer because he's tired of dead-end convos with his wife, which is plain lazy and selfish. If he were less entitled and more of a man, he would simply tell his wife they need to talk and prepare how to make clear he's ready to divorce.

Don’t get too carried away with the director’s “talent”. While I enjoy this movie just fine, despite having Scarlett Johansson in it, it’s a self-indulgent wankfest. Sofia is very far up her own butt and her obesssion with Murray is unhealthy. There’s nothing in this movie that showed amazing directing.

Exceptional film, unfortunately young folk like Mr Roly Poly just don't get it so much. I'd say this is a film you appreciate and connect with far more after some proper life experience. This ain't a teenage romance.
