One of my favorite movies of all time. I love the affinity and chemistry that is created so naturally between the two characters. Thank you for your reaction, and I look forward to seeing more videos from you! Greetings from Spain!
As far as blindly picking something to watch, let's admit it, you kinda won a tiny lottery with this gem. Loved this watch-along with you both, looking forward to more :)
This is my favorite movie. Take two lines from this movie "I gotta get out of here as soon as I can" and then later "I don't want to leave." It shows you what their relationship in this movie did for him. Two people lost, struggling, and have a mutual bond with one another. I believe they did have a strong attraction and romantic interest in one another. You can tell the way she looked at him and the way he looked at her. When he looked at the photo of her from karaoke night and he stared at it longingly. Both they both know any romantic relationship between the two of them isn't possible for so many reasons. It's beautiful and happy, yet sad at the same time. But what's important isn't whether or not in a perfect world they'd like to have been romantically involved with one another. What's important is what the relationship they did have did for each of them at their low points. Good reaction!
What a lovely take. I (Colin) am really proud it was our first movie and I am glad to see this comment, it has made me appreciate the movie that bit more.
Great first review you two. Lost in Translation is one of my favourite ever films which I have a special connection with. Glad you both enjoyed it, on the subject of what Bob whispered to Charlotte at the end of the movie- only Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson know what was said as it wasn't in the script and Bill was just improvising. Makes the film that extra bit special I think. All the best to both of you- cheers ;)
love your scottish accents and appreciate your emotional intelligence in providing your insights for the movie. new subscriber - keep up the great reactions 👍
Love this movie so much, and your reaction was great. The one part I'd disagree, but only partly: I think Charlotte's husband is played as sort of a villain in the movie, but not in that he's a bad guy. Just that he's superficial. His fake laugh and over-the-top mannerisms with the actress, his interest in the clothes worn by the band he photographed but not in what Charlotte was knitting, etc. While Bob and Charlotte's characters are really defined by the things they feel deeply but don't say, John is all about saying and doing things in a rote sort of way. Not a traditional villain, but a figure that stands as the opposite of our main characters. Looking forward to seeing more of your stuff!
Ahh right ok! Very interesting observation, never really thought about it that way, I (Colin) was thinking he was more nervous when meeting the actress than anything else but your take makes much more sense. Glad you enjoyed the reaction and enjoy what's to come 😊.
This was a very VERY popular film when it came out. It was directed by Sofia Copolla, who was the baby being baptized at the end of the film 'The Godfather.
Lovely reaction to a lovely film with a lovely accent to boot. If you haven't watched it yet I highly suggest you watch Her by Spike Jonze, as it is a sort of "sister" film to Lost in Translation considering Jonze and Coppola had split a couple of months before she directed LiT as a symbolic message to him, and Her is his symbolic message to her in response.
Literally one of my favorite movies. Used to just go to sleep with it on. And just to clarify, basically they're both unhappy in their relationships, so it's kind of an emotional affair. They both see how good they could have been together in another life but that's not what happened and they both accept it. Unrelated Recommendations: Attack the Block, Almost Famous, Dazed and Confused, Butterfly Effect, Empire Records, V for Vendetta, The Martian, Stranger than Fiction.
The ending song "Just Like Honey" is by Scottish band The Jesus and Mary Chain. I'm a huge fan of Scottish indie rock bands. So many great ones. I know you're not here to talk about music, but I feel the need to tell every Scottish person how much I love so many bands from Scotland. Haha Love this movie. Really enjoyed y'alls reaction. Thanks
@@weebitreacts Recently I've been following/listening to this band called Swim School. But going back to early 90s: Teenage Fanclub is one of my top 5 bands of all time. Beyond that, off the top of my head, Belle & Sebastian, Mogwai, Travis, Snow Patrol, CHVRCHES, Arab Strap, Boards of Canada. Scotland punches above your weight class when it comes to music. I'd love to make it over there someday. It's a long flight from Los Angeles.
@@michaelkb8783 Hope you make it over here too! Some Excellent taste in music - We also recommend Vistas, Frightened Rabbit & Twin Atlantic if you haven't heard of them :)
@@weebitreacts Oh I've listened to Frightened Rabbit. I like them. Their singer, passed away, right? I'll give Twin Atlantic and Vistas a try. I forgot to mention Camera Obscura.
When they are running thru the casino and the air soft gun guy is chasing them, it reminds me of the scene in Breakfast at Tiffany's when they go to the Five and Dime
Such a good first video! Another channel to add to my rotation of reactors! As mentioned already, The Grand budapest Hotel and any other Wes Anderson films would be great to react to, animated films would be great too, there's so many I cant even think!
Very cool movie 💯 and, I could actually fall in “like” with that character girl…maybe in real life too if I met someone like her. I was feeling the connection.
Awwww, you guys were nervous! It must be SO weird watching a movie and giving a running commentary at the same time! You are a great couple! I felt the same way when I saw it. That ending just kills me. I agree: it's so much better that they DIDN'T get together. Also: I love all kinds of movies, but reaction channels often only do big exploding helicopter flicks and the like.....so it's a nice change of pace to see a reaction to THIS movie! By all means, do whatever it takes to gain more subscribers.....but I hope you "mix it up" and include movies like this from time to time! Or any "change of pace". Hitting classics is never a bad thing, go back as far as you like, fantastic movies can be found in every decade of film, even the silent era (some would say ESPECIALLY the silent era! lol) PS: I'll give you one! There's a great movie that a lot of Americans know and love....and it's a Scottish movie! "Local Hero", directed by Bill Forsyth. It takes place in Scotland, it's a beautiful comedy, and I'm dying to see a Scottish reactor watch it! (Right now, all I know is Dawn Marie as a Scottish reactor!) PSS: As far as comedies that other reactors do, I'll bet if you guys do Monty Python & The Holy Grail and Monty Python's Life Of Brian, that will DEFINITELY get some views. And since you did "The Big Lebowski", I'll throw out my favorite three favorite Coen Brothers films: their first two, "Blood Simple" and 'Raising Arizona"....and "Fargo". Ok, enough of my babble! THANK YOU! This was so much fun!!!! You're a beautiful couple, clearly in love!
PS: Just to clarify: when I said "Local Hero" is a movie lots of Americans know and love.....it's only because I've heard that most reaction video subscribers tend to be from the U.S. so that's all I meant by that.
it's definitely a strange learning curve. Lorna creates full time gaming content and so is a little more at home with it all but still out of her depth. Thank you, we definitely plan on mixing things up where we can. Thanks for all the suggestions we appreciate it and the kind words
I’ve watched reactions from you guys since this video, but I have to say this is one of the best “first” reaction videos I’ve seen. Plus, I was very entertained by your reaction to this movie despite its slow pace.
Ooooo! I just discovered your channel through the new Scorsese trailer.....only to discover you do reactions??? Fantastic! I looked at your video list......and this is definitely the one I'm starting with! Starting now, see you on the other side! :D
I love this!! Hoping that this channel would get more subscribers!! and I recommend the "Her" movie by Spike Jonze (it kinda is connected to this movie in some way)
Sofia Coppola and Spike Jonze were married and ended up getting divorced. Sofia made Lost in Translation as a way to help her process her feelings and Spike Jonze made Her as a way to help process his feelings.

One of my all time favorite films, a comfort film I watch every so often. The dialog was vey organic, nothing forced.
This reaction is such a special one for us as it was our first! It was so good - Lorna

They made a point of showing that hot woman at the end and he almost completely ignored her so he could talk to Charlotte.
Love this! Would really love to see a reaction to The Grand Budapest Hotel
Cheers! Thanks for the suggestion too pal
