Dune could still be made today but as an animated movie with all the technology there would be no worries about the cost from that time. All the storyboards, illustrations and designs are still there and could be used.
The main loss here is the impact and the context of the time. Imagine this being released in the seventies. It would have changed the world of movies more than it already did.
His passion and the impression it had on the artists he was working with is outstanding! Everyone seemed to be so entranced. As much as I would have loved to see that film, it is better to stay a dream now. And I feel that if the film was made today it wouldn't have that real effect that it would have in the past. The amount of CGI they would want to incorporate into it nowadays would just take away from it. But of course if they really DID make it now, Jodorowsky wouldn't stand for any of that fake Hollywood bullshit. This really was the brink of a lot of influential things brought forth through Sci-Fi.
Jodorowsky, sir. Look at all of the story graphs you have! Please contract with an excellent anime company. I will pay to see it! I am not alone. I have paid for the theater, to see many excellent animated films. This may be because my two elder brothers and my father are terribly great artists who are not widely known, but I know that art can depict that which film has not yet grasped. Your dream can be brought to life in vivid and realistic animation. We would be privileged to see it.
this movie would have been nothing like the book, even more differend than lynch film, many dune fans hated that lynch ended his film with a rain on arakis but if they only knew how jodorowsky would have ended his version. Lol the reaction would have been priceless
I would love to see Jodorowsky's Dune. It's movie adaptation not a 1:1 copy. Why to replicate something that is already done? And for "Lynch" Dune it's on my top list.
