Best Ar money can buy for the price…. KAC quality for a cheaper price. I actually prefer my Di over my piston. Love them both. Great review brother! God bless
About how often do you find yourself cleaning the DI vs the piston variant you have? I know you’ll have to clean it more, but in your estimation/experience, if you were to measure it by round count, about how often? I’m looking at different 5.56 rifles. My scar 20 has been great and I love it, but the ammo is getting pricey and I’m looking for something a little more maneuverable and I’ll be shooting it a lot more. I know pistons are cleaner, but I want to build a rig a light as possible without having to wait for SBR. Plus, at 6’6, even my scar 20 look like most 16” ARs on normal height people lol Thanks for insights
@@MCFCTheMadHatter Typically I clean my DI every 400-500 rounds… I have ones that seem to run dirtier and I’ll try to go every 250-300 rounds but for my Lwrc at 300 rounds it’s still shooting fine…. I’ve definitely put 500 plus through it and had no issues… Not that I’m recommending to do that but just me personally. The piston driven are incredible and you can’t go wrong there either, But my groups are tighter more consistently with my DI and it’s so much lighter. The scar is an incredible platform as well!
@@Barbent1317 Thank you for the feedback. I like my 20s and i went to a rifle class recently, and given my size, proportionally, I could function very similar to others there with ARs. That said, its painful when even ball 308 is running 60-70% more expensive and M193. And since I want to really focus on upright shooting & engaging mechanics (which should translate to the scar to various degrees), if I can do it more economically and have an excuse to buy a new rifle (lol), then why not? How is the blowback when firing? Do you get a noticeable amount of gas in the face? Every 300 rounds seems fair to me, I just have a friend who had an old Colt years ago and hated it bc he would have to clean it nearly every time he went shooting, but that was as long ago. How is the trigger on it? 5-6lbs of pull? I was looking at the LWRCI DI Competition version too. I found it for a great price and i like that it comes with a Timney comp trigger and most importantly, a longer hand guard which should allow me to extend my gorilla arms LOL Thanks again for your help - it is much appreciated.
@@MCFCTheMadHatter Gas isn’t to bad from the factory, I used an old mil spec colt for my first rifle to train off of and I got used to over gassed stuff lol but the lwrc from factory wasn’t as bad. I’m actually in the middle of ordering an adjustable gas block for it. Trigger wise from factory my trigger was around 6-7 pounds, if you’ve shot for awhile, you’ll probably want to throw in a better trigger, I like timneys and Geissele personally. Had good luck with both in pistols and rifles! The competition models are super nice man.
@@Barbent1317 Awesome. One of the reasons I went with the scar 20 was bc it came with a 2-stage Geissele (breaks at about 3.5lbs) and I’ve been shooting my newly acquired DS9 for a bit. 2.5lbs trigger with a reset that simply fantastic. Been shooting the scar for a bit, love trigger, but since getting the DS9, I love me a light trigger with small take up, crisp wall and super short reset. So if I can find an AR that has a comp trigger already in it, and there’s good value overall, I’m def interested. Found the lwrc competition model for $1427 new. I’m still doing my research, but given what you’ve told and the objective value of that rifle, I’m gonna have to take a serious look at it. Want to get my hands on one to see how it feels first. Looks like I’ll be doing some searching for a shop that has it. Thanks again for your help👍
Can’t do much better than LWRCi. These things are built like tanks and still have respectable weight. I have two of their SSP’s but never tried their DI firearms. For DI, Daniel Defense has been my favs but would certainly love to try an LWRC DI and maybe even add one to the fleet. Both LWRC and DD are perfect LEO firearms that I’d trust my life to.
When I researched, I was looking for an DI AR that I did not have to do anything to it other than sling, flashlight and scope, this is it. No failures or issues with it whatsoever, initially put an Aimpoint PRO on it, but then I wanted a little magnification so swapped it for a Sig Sauer 1-6x24 MSR and works great. There isn't a better AR15 for the price than this, stop searching (but once, cry once). The internet has people thinking what is wrong with my AR, is it trigger, rail, stock, barrel, upper, lower blah blah blah, you will end up spending more for something of much less quality/reliability. Thx LWRC for a great product. (Now if you are just looking for the cheapest LWRC without all the bells & whistles? - LWRC Discovery)
I bought mine a few weeks ago and have 100 rounds through it and absolutely ❤️ it. Very well built and accurate!

Out of all my ARS my lwrc is one of my faves. I have three of them lol
I’m on the same boat, such a nice piece of art
This weapon is the best buy for military civilian buyers. For those who served during desert storm, this should have been our M4....
I just bought my first lwrc
Omg... that music 🤮
