As a Mechanical Engineer I never liked EEE during diploma and Bachelors. Maybe I felt bored coz the staffs didn’t explain me this interesting like U. If u were there earlier I wouldn’t have failed or get just pass marks in the subject.. Keep up the good work. It will definitely help the current and upcoming students. 👍🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

The important factor is missed. The wattage is directionally proportional to square of the current. So, if transmission current is lowered, the power loss can be minimised during transmission. When AC voltage is stepped up, the current decreases proportionately. This way, when generated voltage is either stepped up or generated to 22KV, the current became milliamp. When the transmission is effected by milliamp current, the power loss is very minimum. This is the great advantage of AC and for this reason AC is preferred over DC. Moreover, RMS of AC voltage, deliver the same energy of DC of that AC RMS value.

DC motor has more initial high torque which is highly need for electric train to startup. So, DC voltage is used.
