On "My Car Story" we're in the West Suburbs of Chicago IL on 9-27-18.
We're looking at a 1960 Chrysler 300F Convertible in Toreador Red ( looks like a shade of pink ) Paint. The car comes with the factory V8 Wedge Shaped Combustion Chambers 413 Cubic Inch engine with two four barrel carburetors and a “cross ram” induction manifold.
The car's Owner is Ken Nagel. Ken’s had this car since 2010. He shares the details of this car that looks “showroom” new. There were only 248 convertibles made in 1960.
If you'd like to see this car on Ken's website here is the link kennagelclassiccars.com/1960-...

My dad had a 300F Coupe. Traded in a 300D to get it. I was 18 when he had this. Dad loved the ram tunnel intake. Black with tan interior. Had a "cool" dad! I was very lucky.

Good video. The detailing was superb and the swivel seats were a unique gem and feature, missed in most vehicles, if not all today. The 300's series Chryslers were legends and still sought by collectors today. The color choices of Chryslers were also a strong suit and that color is a testament in beauty. What an awesome car !

Wow! Another work of art, both from the point of view of the original design,as well as the restoration.
As a mechanical engineer, i am blown away by these great American Cars of the 1950's-60's that were designed with paper and pencil and built mostly by hand. Beats the cars of today that are designed on 3D CAD systems and put together by robots.
    As usual, great presentation

Hey Lou Man! Hot Pink it looks like but I am sure the name is different. That Astrodome Dash and the Lights they used in the dash dome at night WOW! This car is full of WOW’S for sure. If you don’t love this car you are NOT a car nut. 375HP back in 1960. 12 mpg I am shocked it was that high according to the flyer in the trunk. God I just Love it! Love the Buckets in all 4 places with Swivels in the front. It’s a Masterpiece of total design. You are so SO lucky Lou. Now, talk him into loaning you the car for 20 years ;)

My favorite year letter car. Love the Astrodome binacle. I'd have to retrofit red-LEDs into the tail-lights though. They're so dim it's a danger to drive at night. I had the same concern on an old MGA and installed a Victoria British LED brake/turn light kit. Now it lights up like Christmas and I don't worry about not being seen anymore. The car's appearance is unchanged, so win/win.

NICE... Those finned Mopars were regular "rocket ships"!
And that Toreador Red color was one of "those colors" that the manufacturers cooked up, that just seems to look different from every angle! Even today, once in a while we get lucky and still see unique takes on color from the auto makers... But that particular color is WILD.

I gotta say - this (for me) is one of those cars that just don't excite me on a Still Photo. But on video - WOW! This baby sings to me! I love the fins, the dash panel and the swivel seat especially. WHOA! The Cross Ram Induction - rocked my stankin' world! Love that soft deep rumble she makes. If this was my car, and I took it to a car show., I'd be having armed guards on it with orders to taser anyone who so much as breathed on it. With only 85 known in existance? Darn bet ya! :-)

the front of these has a very determined and powerful looking stance. as for the rest of this motor vehicle: ... if you don't have something nice to say, might as well keep it to yourself. nice nail polish color on it. kind of rock and roll. a lot of the hard tops i remember were some kind of canary yellow or off white color making the eccentric styling seem unusually dated in the years immediately following 1960. and the toilet lid, to ACTUALLY seem reminiscent of a real toilet. wow, imagine who came up with that: "hey, Bob- doesn't that kinda' remind you of a toilet seat?!!" yeah.

    " Forerunner to the hemi " ?
These exotic manifolded " contraptions " were an attempt to match the REAL performance of the 300 C and D ( powered by the 392 Chrysler hemi ). The hemi was discontinued due to " COST " but I'll bet it was far cheaper to manufacture a 392 then this pile of parts that never really worked out ( only a " forerunner " to it's necessary replacement ).
Some cool features on this car though , and a cool piece of history .

@@loucostabile I just want to say that the detail of the work on this car is fantastic . Many of Chrysler enthusiasts over the years question the decisions of the late 1950's from Cryco. . I am a huge fan of the 1950's engineering and the cars of the period just after , inspire me to question the engineering decisions of the time .
Fantastic car to be proud of , please pay me no mind ( one Chrysler fan to another ).

Correct me if I am wrong but wasn't the 1955 Chrysler C-300 the first 300 hp American production car and therefore the first "muscle" car?

@@richmcintyre1178 The Duesenberg was the first american production car with over 300 hp as far as I know.

Why would any company paint a beautiful car like this deep PINK??? Love the style and the build-hate the color! Thanks Lou

Awesome Lou《☆》I would call Her Mabeline, Christines younger sister. That cross ram 413 & 7.4 second 0 to 60 says it all. With a set of Flowmasters & a tuneup it would have the sound to match ☻

True, the Chrysler letter cars were better, but those cars just about bankrupt Chrysler. They spent way too much monies developing and making them.

In the trunk, I loved that article. The pronouns about the car date it so well. "She", "her", feminine pronouns. Not sure how well that language would fly in our society today. LOL. What a car.
