I live in San Diego and we have got to find a middle ground with stealth parking, peoples rights, homeless encampments and neighborhood parking. An issue we have down south below the 8 freeway is campers and vans with trash outside of the van/camper or vans/campers staying in the same area for days at a time or weeks. We need designated street areas where it is legal to park and sleep overnight versus inside of neighborhoods. I love that your here in San Diego and as I drive around I have seen a lot nicely done stealth campers and cars. People better get use to it because we are all one or two paychecks or one disaster away from living in our cars not by choice! Thanks for what you do:)))
Agreed - the van dwellers are not all angels. I worked for a city south of the 8 and one of the most disgusting thing that happened with van dwellers was them either pulling the black water tank or the van was so crapped out (excuse the pun) that the black tanks leaked as the van drove two blocks. Human waste all over the road and residents are supposed to feel all lovey dovey about van dwellers in their neighborhood?
Love that you're showing us the real deal of how it is to live in a van.. so many people romanticize it, but that whole ticket situation a while back made that kind of lifestyle so stressful.
Absolutely love your content. I just starting living in my truck and just got to San Diego yesterday afternoon after driving from Michigan. I’m an electrician that’s worked on renewable energy for years. Actually worked for tesla installing mega packs. Would love to meet you
I came here 25 years ago in a very cheap Dodge Maxivan ,I bought from a church back in Chicago😂 I spent one night in La Jolla which was quite awesome, and then I drove farther south the next day by the San Diego Bay and the roller coaster, needless to I simply decided to stay here and never leave started another plumbing company here in San Diego and I never regret it, A1 Plumbing sewer and drain experts
Your videos are getting better & better. Do you know if there's a length restriction on RVs? I don't imagine people would take too kindly to a 40' rig taking up 10 spots.
Thanks Brad for thinking of others and seeing where you can help them where needed. Looks like a good choice for getting help having a van built out to different levels. 👍
@0:53 I know that dip down by Laguna Beach I used to hit that at like 100 mph on my sport bikes every weekend.. Driving down PCH is amazing. I live in Long Beach now, but all along California's coast down to San Diego is so nice, the weather is always perfect. San Diego in particular though, its just nicer than the greater Los Angeles area in my opinion, your options for posting up near the water are way easier access and the evaporation cooling effect is so much better there.. Here in Long Beach they destroyed the tidal evaporation effect when they created the breakwater for the Port of Los Angeles.

I believe if you went further up the coast to Ventura County you may have had better luck. If my memory serves me correctly, there are multiple lots for RV's but also regular non-RV lots. They should be much less crowded than L.A. County. We used to take our dogs over the county line to play off leash and always hit up a fruit stand near Oxnard that has amazing strawberries. (Usually). Just head north on PCH & they'll be on your left. Obviously. lol
All cities should give weekly permits for living inside vehicles. We are living in different times, many people abusing the free right to live anywhere and everywhere. Having this permit we help reduce the overwhelming amount of people choosing for various reasons to live in a vehicle and causing issues.
Most major cities (or at least many) have something called a city or county park CAMPGROUND. Not only can you park and sleep there legally for 5 to 14 nights, they have toilets and showers and dump stations. Why should any city allow people to "camp" on the streets? And this opinion comes from full time RVer.

Hi Brad. Another great vlog. You are such an inspiration. I wish I had the courage to live full time on the road. Mike's van is super cool.
thanks for the kind words!
That pullout table and sink is smart. I don't think I've seen that exactly before.
I agree, its agreat idea

Do not eat any fish from the bay. They're full of ringworms under the skin. You can see them puffed up under the skin.

Great Video, I want to take my van down to Oceanside from San Joaquin valley. Your buddy’s prices seem really high.
What lot? And thank you for the recommendation for small partial builds. 👍
That's great that they aren't ticketing, but can they still tell you to move?

Great. Every public parking lot at the beach or parks will be filled with vans, beat up RVs and box trucks.

I shouldn’t need a permit to exist.

If you have a trike with a trailer hooked up to it and sleeping in it is not considered a motor vehicle even with a electric motor
