You do realize that going too aggressive with Genji in a top 500 lobby means insta-punish from the enemy team? Especially against a team that has Sojourn/Ashe and Rein/Hog?
PS: The way Blizzard just loves nerfing Genji to the ground over and over again, like the recent speed passive nerf, slow Genji is the best Genji playstyle for maximum efficiency and effectiveness.
Yes but if you want to play a slower genji then there’s other dps that play the long game better and don’t have to rely on their cooldowns to get picks
@@GaryAsphodel Have you ever considered the fact that some people have "preference" or "desire to play a certain hero over the other"? Not everyone cares about the meta pick. Otherwise you wouldn't have people like Flats or Bowie playing Rein, when he's so bad now in the meta.

I'm not gonna lie, I was expecting to see more high impact, carry plays. But, instead, he just seems to poke and annoy the enemy team while staying alive. Maybe the disruption is sufficient enough to enable his hanzo/mccree to secure kills?

that’s kinda how you wanna play him, you can’t really be aggressive 24/7 otherwise you’ll end up feeding, you just poke and go in when you know you can get away with it
This is what happens when genji gets nerfed to c tier. Same thing happens in diamond+ ranks. All genji is good for is being a nanoblade bot
As a Genji main, I play with counter force braces (for tennis elbow) and used to wear wrist braces, but now I just use Deltahub’s gaming wrist rest instead of the wrist braces cause I’ve healed and much better than buying a whole new vertical mouse. Granted, I got injured from repetitive motion at work, but gaming and playing Genji most defiantly did not help
As a genji main who has over 150 hours on him I can say this: he gives you so much versatility in attacking, you can literally do whatever you want, go wherever you want. Unlike a lot of heroes like bastion, mecree, symmetra, etc... They don't have a lot of versatility in ways they attack and they don't have a lot of doors opened for them. This is why he's the best dive hero, in the right hands he can do whatever he desires
Symmetra can do some shit though, I think she is a bit underrated as diver. Just gotta setup in a room and play behind the enemy using turrets to shutdown anyone who pushes your spot
tracer is better at diving cause more survivability and single kill potential, but it requires more skill

About the pain thing I think it depends on the person but I've played Genji since beta and have maybe 1500 hours on him, most of those hours being at a gm level. I'm now 32 years old and have never had any pain or issues with my wrists or hands.
I was watching the vid and was like, "This playstyle looks familiar." Then I saw who was playing Genji. Of course you'd be amazed.

Jay have you ever thought about spectating some of the best controller players? However looking in top 500 wouldn’t be the best bet because 90% of them Xim but you could ask for Masters-GM and ask for proof of playing on controller. That’s a lot of work but just thought it would be a good idea
I would love to see what top console gameplay looks like. I’m only silver (I also barely play comp in ow2) but I feel I deserve higher and there’s nothing to go off of💀
@@drearoshalexoxo7326 I mean watching pc players and observing them is perfectly fine. Even if you can’t do the things they do such as 180 flicks you can still take the fundamentals and play style and incorporate it. Also do Aim labs for warm up. Soradot was one of the best console widows and recently came back to make a few videos. You can watch him since he has also given tips and his own aim trainer which I use for warm up

@@B_bang22 Yeah you’re not wrong. I’ve only been playing ow for a year or so. Ive learned a lot from pc players ( positioning, movement and I can mimic their movements in pc pool without aim assist) but I really want to see a comparison of handheld compared to my own controller gameplay. I think it would help me see where I stand.

4:58 id say its bc hanzo is strong enough to not need a pocket, allowing mercy to focus more on the genji/hog for dmg boost and only worry about when hanzo needs heals. If he went ashe or soj then mercy would have to decide between pocketing the genji as he dives or sitting in the back pocketing the ashe. With hanzo it gives genji enough support to not have to worry too much about those risky dives and mercys free to get to him when needed instead of letting him die just to keep pocketing the ashes bc shes hitting her shots
See what they don't show is when the enemy team gets pissed they're getting wrecked and then they bring out the torbs/syms/moira and just spam damage heroes. What people don't understand is the fact that Genji is the MOST EASILY COUNTERED HERO IN THE GAME. And i'm tired of seeing him get nerf after nerf because people can't just switch the counter him.

Season 1 OW1 Genji here haha. I can understand you seeing him as useless but after playing him in both games, there's one key thing people forget. You can play Genji in three different modes (defensive, inline or offensive). He may not do consistent high damage without accuracy unless you get all shurikens on on L1 but he's a planner. If even one person on the other team is mid or low, he can start a chain of execution. He's also extremely deadly to backlines. Take the rein getting "pested" with R1 - sometimes its enough to make him move his shield or change stance which could change the battle. Blade Ult can be used to spread teams (e.g. hey wild animal on the loose - RUN) as well as do high damage. Think of every move in his arsenal being able to assassinate and protect. Nano blade is fun but unnecessary - all you need is swift strike and one kill to start a chain. For my OW1 players, Like if you remember the Genji expert "Knives" from the day haha. Great vid.
