For the gaping in your back and white dress you could make a small channel across the front and add a piece of elastic just enough to draw it in tighter. It looks beautiful on you. I wish we had those pattern sales in Canada.

I love the black floral print dress that you have on. I’d had the pattern for a couple of years. I was indecisive about what fabric to use. After seeing your dress make, I’m going with a printed poplin too.

Brilliant video, I just love your Friday Sews! This is getting crazy now, I've made that v neck gathered too so many times in recent years times, various views but never with the tie but I've missed out, I love it ❤. That dress turned out beautifully and you look so good in it, you have beautiful shoulders which I sadly don't have 😂 so cut outs look so amazing on you. Re lace, I made NL 6261 a few years ago for my Sons wedding and it came out beautifully and so easy to do. NL 6483 is a great pattern, I've made all the views I think 😂. It is my go to for a woven top 👏🏼. You make me so jealous with your trips to JoAnns and Hobby Lobby 😩, it won't be long for me though. That fabric for your friends bag looks beautiful and I can't wait to see the 6095 dress made up with the band on the bottom. Have a great weekend 😊🌺👗

Beautiful dress!!!! Yeah, I noticed a bit of gaping at the top of the bodice. Hmmm..... Maybe a couple of very small darts on the top of the bodice might work? Or maybe take some hand quilting thread, feed it through the bodice between the lining and bodice front fabric, then pull it through ever so slightly to gather the top edge? Trying to think of ways to correct the gaping without taking the bodice top apart. Hmmm..... Regardless, gorgeous dress!!!!!!! 🥰 Love the patterns you bought! Sew Day? I'm thinking Sew Month!!! 😉

Hey! Thanks for mentioning me! I love all the things you've done with lace (actually, I'm probably a little jealous! :D ) I have that pattern 1107 and some lace laying about, just waiting to be made up into a make, so maybe, if you were so inclined, maybe we could do a collaboration-thingy a little closer to spring? (Insert eyebrow wiggle.) Your dress is gorgeous and you had me cracking up over just buying the fabric and patterns. I'm right there with you - life is short, buy patterns. I need that on a bumper sticker...

I made this channel to share and spread that joy and inspire both new and long time sewists. I'm glad you enjoy it. We are both blessed that God gave us this passion and talent for sewing. Wouldn't you agree? How many people on earth today have something so wonderful they enjoy?? Enjoy your patterns and fabric! Have a great day!! Thanks again for your comments and watching.

The dress looks fantastic, Grace!I agree with using some small gathering hand stitches to pull the area in followed by a few shots of steam to hold the "shrinkage" down permanently.
A mandatory weekly Sew Day should be put into effect immediately. Yes! Buy the fabric. Life is too short to deny ourselves legal guilty pleasures.
I was told that a short is created during the editing process. Just choose what you want to feature at that time. I don't edit, so don't hold me to that.
Looking forward to your bias tape maker review.

Love the dress. To get rid of the gapping at the top, try lifting the bodice so it sits just a bit higher, you might need to lengthen the waist to sit in the right place, fit the side seams, great if you have someone to help there. Then fit the straps, they should then sit flat as they will be on the flattest part of your chest. I love New Look 6483 top, it is one of my go to basic patterns, being a rectangular shape now I just add 18 inches to the bottom and its the quickest shift dress to make.
