At this point it's time to either go all in or get out and trade both of them. The ratings of prospects mean very little. They move up and down until they are called up. Salus has moved up so quickly but now he has been struggling at the plate so his ratings drop. I hear the Padres are even higher on the shortstop. At any rate these two aren't enough to take this team over the top. Trade both pitchers and let's beef up this farm system overnight. And also acquire some Major League ready Talent to fill the open holes on this roster. Forget about competing this year, let's concentrate I'm putting a roster together for the next 5 or 6 years instead of the usual one or two.
If they trade cease, king, or Arraez before Suarez ima crash out. Trading cease, king, or Arraez is NOT an option. Trading Suarez is the move
Should The PADRES Trade Dylan Cease or Michael KING ?
I say yes they Should Trade Dylan Cease
I want PADRES to resign Michael KING to 10 years Deal Extension With PADRES in 2026
Just from an outsider’s fan POV, you should trade everyone away right now for prospects. Your ownership will be weird for the next few years. What’s more likely? You somehow win the WS with a weaker roster than last year’s? OR get ahead of the ownership bullcrap that’s coming the next few years by trading right now for prospects to have a very promising young roster by then when everything settles?
The Padres have an expensive core still close to their prime, so it doesn't make sense to waste that by selling off. Their roster today is still good enough to challenge for a wild card spot. Health and injuries can change that, but I think they should roll it out, assess at trade deadline and if the season didn't work then sell off. It also keeps the fans buying tickets going in with more players than not. I don't think the difference in prospects obtained today vs deadline would be too different.
@@jasonb619that’s fair.
theyre definitely good enough to win it all. only thing is theyre looking to shed payroll because theyre not profitable. so they're in a really weird spot where they have big contracts and players in their prime, but still need to shed payroll. if they sell now they're still stuck with some bad contracts going forward, and they won't be in their prime.
I can see a Cease trade with him being Boras client but I’d say keep King and try to extend him. What I really wanna know is what the Siedler Bros have to say about the Padres!
Please PADRES it time to Hire BenJl Gil He Want to be a New Bench Coach For PADRES in 2025
How dumb are the Padres? These two are gems …. They should be extending them!
ABSOLUTELY NOT,...
At worst
it would make common sense to use the talent gift and ability of both pitchers throughout 2025 entire first half and about halfway through the second half
if we're not in contention then gather as many top prospects from richer teams that want to compete for playoffs but only give these two pitcherss up into the American League do not give our two quality pictures to Atlanta or the Mets or anyone in the National League
the Padres should never ever give up pitching ever ever never ever Not ever
because pitching is what wins championships
you can always replace your offense with players to fill in but pitching is an extreme difficult item to find
and we have two gold and gems and
there's no reason to get rid of them for now in 2025 or 2026
because you can always reduce your payroll
For 2 years plus I've been saying get rid of Manny machado's contract even if you're losing several millions of dollars you have to unload this albatross around our necks
Even if you're punting for the 2025 season Bogart's needs to go
also saving the entire San Diego Padres front office 500 plus million dollars okay so you're losing 40-50 million additional or higher to get rid of these players fine you can also include Kronos worth which would save you another 60 million and if you and if you have to deal creatively and give up 10 additional million to give Kronos worth out of here as well do it
Just don't ever give up pitching you can always buy pitching in 2026 after dealing Machado and dealing Bogarts you'll have enough money to pay a reasonable contract for them to stay while you continue to stack more pitching
losing several millions of dollars but sweetening the deal and saving 500 million dealing Machado saving 300 million
even though you have to eat 30 plus million and you can give up Bogart's back to Boston and have to eat up 30 million as well
but you're saving the entire front office over 500 million enough money to keep Cease enough money to keep King- in 2026 as well as you additionally stack more pitching
there is no need to give up pitching at all ever - because pitching wins championships
because we could pay them with an additional $500 million in savings in trades
and continue to stack up current roster and build the 2025 farm for 2026
don't be stupid by giving up Salas or don't be stupid by giving up Debries etc,..or anyone else or any of the upcoming Farm players that we have
Keep-stacking the Farm
if there's players that you need to give up then Cronosworth - Suarez- Arraez if necessary etc,...
but it would be totally foolish to give up talent in our pitching staff and just punt the season away
and I'd like to know who declared 2025 to be a fire sale
nobody in San Diego feels this way
since we were literally the World Series favorite but Manny and Company choked in the last two games against the Dodgers
but we had the season of a dream season of winning the entire thing
There's absolutely no need to have a fire sale now it's to foolish thinking and stupid mentality at all we are still very close with plenty of Talent on our team we just need to continue to stack pitching so get rid of the two high salary guys even if it's a huge loss financially now
we just needed to get past the Dodgers and we were only nine innings away from winning the whole entire world series
so it will be foolish to unload and become the fire sale unnecessarily
just to line the pockets of the seidler Bros
It’s funny how things turn out. The pods were one game away from being WS champions (both NY teams were inferior). Who knows how the offseason might have looked like had they won it all!
Also, they gave away a bunch of prospects, their future, for Soto, Arraez, King, Cease, to win a ring… and didn’t win anything!!!!😂
I know you guys are fans of the team but the reality is the team is trying to cut money and ownership is in limbo and will be for a few years, so it’s either keep the team as is and try to make a run this year or trade cease, arraez, king etc and get prospects or mlb ready players so the future doesn’t look to dim cause both of those guys or gonna command a lot of money especially if they do good this year and you guys won’t be able to afford them unfortunately.
Sadres at it again
That’s the best you got? My 5 year old could come up with a better insult lol
Yes, definitely. They must trade everyone They can't resign and immediately get value in return 💪🤷♂️🫡
