If the highway department could ever get the construction on I-465 completed the city would be a lot better. As it is, the roads suck. Driving and traffic are a nightmare.
Everywhere has atleast decent food. If you aren’t attending an event center there is no reason to visit indy. Unless Taylor Swift is playing and my wife drags me along. 🤣

Ex high school swimmer here. I'm just clearing up a couple of questions I heard. 1) you're not allowed to touch the bottom of the pool for breaststroke, butterfly, and backstroke. It's fair game in freestyle. 2) you're doing something wrong if you touch the bottom. You'll only touch bottom if you dive or if you drown (starts are different from dives because they are more focused on not allowing your body from going deeper than 3ish feet). 3) water polo is more controlling about touching bottom.
Don’t knock it if you’ve never been there. Downtown Indy is actually pretty cool. Big enough to have Pacers and Colts (and AAA baseball in a beautiful ballpark), but small enough to walk. That’s why most of the NFL Combine reporters love it.
They like it because nobody wants to visit Indy for the combine. Imagine if the combine was in Vegas, LA or somewhere like that. It would be packed. Indy is easy to navigate but that doesn’t make it cool.
Hey Pat, even though it’s slightly outside the realm of sports, Drum Corps International Championships take place at Lucas Oil every August and you’re the guy to give it the recognition it deserves. Check it out. One more thing that makes Indy great.

I went to the colts buccaneers game with my buddy. Stayed at the Omni Severin, went to saint Elmo’s it was amazing. The colts stadium was great. And had fun at the strip clubs. It was a pretty cool city to be in. A lot of homeless though which was sad to see.

Outside of the potholes and homeless, Indy is really nice. Maybe my favorite city I've lived in. I often miss it. Shockingly good food. Great venues. Affordable. Nice place to raise a family.
Truth be told, we had some family friends who moved out there from AZ, and all I had ever heard from them was how much they hated to be there in the summer time because there’s nothing to do. They used to look forward to coming to Arizona of all places

I visited indy to watch eagle vs colts where we found out jalen squats 700lbs. Indy airport is clean and quick. Had a really fun time there nice people and some really fun bars. Idk i had a blast. Went to the steakhouse after the eagles W and ran into jeff Saturday all trashed that was an experience eating in a fancy restaurant with a jason kelce jersey on 15 beers in. Really fun times

I visited Indy to see my Falcons and Peyton Manning before he retired. Manning didn’t play but loved the city of Indy. Downtown was nice. Stuff to do but clean and homey feeling. Nicest fans. And Curtis Painter made sure Pat got to show off his leg
living in cincinnati i go to indie a lot since it isnt too far away...it's definitely one of the cleaner cities i've visited, low in crime but not much to do there.... i actually like it there been to some good parties there too lol

You come to Indianapolis mostly for the events. We host events better than almost anyone, and the downtown is very convenient for visitors. You don’t come for the city, you come for what is going on in the city.
It’s the closest major city to Louisville so visit Indy quite often. Got to see Boston Connor last time out in public and that was cool. Love bru burgers, sauce on the side, and toppers pizza
Those people up north talk funny. Honestly been driving up for surgery at IU medical every 2 weeks for the past couple month... Since I69 goes all the way now the drive isn't too shabby except for the stupid stretch through Bloomvegas where it drops to 50mph, and the last 1 miles before 465.
As a former high school swimmer, the funnest part was always the launch off. Had me feeling like Micheal Phelps in his prime despite being in like the 7th heat.💀
I strongly beg to differ. I went to Indy a few months ago to see the Knicks play the Pacers. Lovely city, 9/10. Very nice people, clean, safe, easy to navigate, big fan here!
Indy is great. I go every year for a convention. Locals are nice. Downtown is walkable. I wish it was a little cheaper, but that’s everywhere these days.
I love Indianapolis because I can zip right through it on I-70 and never have to slow down. I mean I have traversed the entire city from west to east 17 times and from east to west 16 times, and never, not even once, have I had to go slower than 55 mph. Every other major city in the U.S. has traffic that slows me down from time to time. But not Indianapolis. Love you Indy!
Pat, there are local USA swim clubs all around Indy. Summer is long course season, and you can go watch a bunch of kids crushing it in the water any given weekend. You should check it out.

I was in Indy for a Colts game, and a local told me, " Come to Indy on vacation, leave Indy on probation." I actually love Indy, but I bleed blue and white, so probably something to do with that.
Came to Indy a couple of years ago, my fav band played there on my birthday so how could I not? Was at a state park by the canal, stayed at a hotel within walking distance. Wasn't the most extravagant city but it was clean, nice, felt completely safe wandering around high as a kite after the concert. 😅 10/10 would go again. The drive was kinda eh but that's what podcasts are for.
Visited Indy back in April for the Eclipse. Nothing bad to say about the city tbh. Friendly folks, nice down town, decent food.

I was in Indy for a Colts game, and a local told me, " Come to Indy on vacation, leave Indy on probation." I actually love Indy, but I bleed blue and white, so probably something to do with that.
Came to Indy a couple of years ago, my fav band played there on my birthday so how could I not? Was at a state park by the canal, stayed at a hotel within walking distance. Wasn't the most extravagant city but it was clean, nice, felt completely safe wandering around high as a kite after the concert. 😅
10/10 would go again.

It's the roads. I70, I65, 465, I69 seem like they7 are constantly under construction and somehow never seem to get better or often worse than before.
In fairness, if i didnt live here, id prolly never visit. Lmfao.
