Great video, Patrick! I never owned a socket 1366 system back in the day, but I remember wanting an i7 920 so bad when they first came out. It was a really amazing platform, that's for sure.
Thanks, there is a lot you can do with this system and I think that the msi motherboard is more user friendly then the gigabyte one. I will do another video with this board and another 1366 board that only has dual channel ddr3. Just as quick overclock video.
Nice OC! LGA 1366 was a mighty impressive platform back in the day, and you clearly did your due diligence when choosing the components for this build. Quite the showcase!
Thanks, I figured that since plan A went south, I would try this and see what damage I could do LOL. I never got close to overheating this bad boy. It just kipped on going. I do have a K CPU I thought about using but this I think was a good choice.
WE realize how hard the retro world is! Nice video on fairly modern hardware, Patrick! I went ahead and tweeted your video for you this morning. Nice work, pal!
I seen your struggles 😂. I know you know how hard it can be. Yeah I figured I would be the ice breaker for more modern hardware. Thanks for the Twitter tweet it seems me and Twitter don't see eye to eye on world events. Thanks again Mike.
Retro hardware is definitely a pain in the rear sometimes. My Dell Latitude from the January tech haul has been a pain to get windows reinstalled. The ThinkPad 760CD I have will not boot without new CMOS battery's and it takes two custom battery packs. Sometimes it's nice to work with semi modern hardware and keep up the great work.
You nailed it buddy. Especially with some of the old ball stuff. I ran into a dell like that, I cut the wires and taped them on a 2032. Seemed to be the cheapest fix. Thank you Eric.
On this msi board I did now on like a gigabyte board probably not, but it depends on the cpu, ram and a few other factors. I spent a lot of time getting this dial up. Thank you for your question and support.

@@OCROldComputerRebuilds I agree about the Twitter thing. Still, don't be a stranger, pal.
@@UncleMikeRetro I won't, you know that. 🙂
Let’s go 🤩
Thanks

@@OCROldComputerRebuilds Your welcome, I think i'm going to try that idea with some cr2032's
Do you not need to change Intel Turbo Boost to manual?
