I still have and run as a secondary rig my Z97-Pro Gamer mobo with 4790k. Motherboard is in still near-perfect condition after all these years and the 4790k stays permanently overclocked on all cores to 4.5Ghz at 1.18v. It has an RTX 2070. I mostly use it for older games and plan on keeping it for awhile still. It does actually average 55-58fps in Cyberpunk (I couldn’t NOT try it out) on mostly high settings and some RTX settings on. I do run it with Fidelity FX on to do that tho.

its odd that we went from heat spreader aka ihs to direct die and now back to heat spreader aka ihs, Direct Die can improve cooling but does make it more suscipital to overheating burning the chip, with incorrectly mounted heatsink, no thermal paste, or no heatsink for quick testing.

So I just got a Tandy 2500 sx/20. I went down that floppy cable that had the 9 hole punches, and punched it in the same place next to the motherboard. That cuts those grounds. Then used a standards 1.44mb floppy drive. But had to find one which could be set by jumper to S0, not the "normal" S1. Bought a 4 pin molex to floppy power adapter, and it works great on one drive. I got the gotek to work instead of a drive, because floppy drives with drive select is almost as hard to find as an impossible to find tandy drive. My tandy drive motor died.

Pc chips was half the price and just as good or faster on most of the boards. And now the price of them is up because of the no cash cash boards. And the people that trashed them back in the day are buying them up so they can hipe them up , to resell at a big profit.

@@OCROldComputerRebuilds I can see, it got an intel chipset. HP Netserver (tc2100) & graphical workstations like Visualize-X, Workstation X4000 often got a special server chipset which is bad for any multimedia use. I think the Kayak "PC" is similar but often single CPU. I already tested hp Visualize-X with single PIII 1 GHz 512 MB ECC 133 MHz (no ISA). It works some how, much but more happy with NT 4 (it was delivered with), Win 2000 (supported) and XP with AGP CAD/CAM GA. This stuff was very very expensive these days. I also got the ultra rare Compaq SP750 Workstation connected to RA4000 & RA8000 FC. Dual Slot Xeons 1 GHz with RIMM like the X4000. Nice video! I thought the case was originally beige and spray painted black. If that is originally all black then it is quite unique since most Baby AT cases are beige. Even beige Baby AT cases especially with the LED lights are becoming rarer and quite expensive in the used market. Also Old AT style power supply are becoming rarer and branded ones like that Antec 250 may be worth the effort to check and if feasible, repair. The burnt connectors can be replaced using the cheap ATX to AT cable adapters available on online shopping sites.

soaking the card in baking soda+water to neutralize any acidic residue from the mouse droppings is the way to go, then super scrub it down with windex, and then soap/water, followed by a dip in some 91% or higher alcohol to displace the water, and finally a hit with a hairdryer, which should take care of the rest. Ideally, you want the concentrated blue Dawn and a manual toothbrush you don't care about. It should clean right up. Solder won't look the best, that's for sure, but it'll just be surface oxidation and should still work just fine. I had a similar issue where I found one of my Gig switches got peed on in the garage before I moved and had to tear the entire thing down. it was absolutely disgusting and I had to bleach all the plastics. but, after doing the above and replacing a couple of capacitors that didn't look the healthiest even prior to the mouse incursion, it's been working flawlessly here at my desk for the past year and a half without giving me an issue. so yeah, you may need to replace some capacitors, but in all honesty the audio output caps should be replaced on those sound blaster cards anyway. whatever the capacitance value is plus a bump up in voltage a bit (i.e. 16v goes to 25v, 25v goes to 35v, etc.) and two 0.1uF bipolar film capacitors should be placed on the underside. Usually these are see-through or dark green dipped caps, and can be found in any junk power supply made within the last 15 years. While this isn't to Creative's spec, it definitely helps, if the work done to an Awe64 Value here is anything to go by.
