    I believe the Gilbert crash occurred near the same spot that Fabio Casartelli died in 1995 for Team Motorola. That descent is very dangerous. A good reason for them having to wear helmets. These guys take all sorts of risks descending, they really are daredevils. God I love the Tour. The Giro is also quite good. I hope that they structure the new time bonuses at the top of the major climbs so that it somehow benefits the GC. Nothing like seeing someone like Barguil, De Gendt or Gillaume Martin take all the bonuses. LOL

      To be fair, the reason why footballers (aka soccer players) fake injury at every opportunity is because they and their team are rewarded for it. I don't blame them, I blame the way the sport is officiated. Now with instant replay, they could and should review those incidents and any player found to be diving should be kicked out of the game, right then and there. That would put a stop to that foolishness.

    • @clashgoneofficial
      @clashgoneofficial 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@driver9337 It's also that any contact with your leg when you are running makes you instanly lose control.
      Football/soccer is obviously more touched by this due to its nature.
      But anyone falling doesn't need to roll, here it is diving.

    • @driver9337
      @driver9337 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@clashgoneofficial I'm not talking about players getting kicked/hit in the leg and then falling because of it. In most cases that could be reasonable. I'm talking about players barely getting touched and acting like they are in terrible pain, going down as if they've been shot. Unless you get cleated, you are not in any serious pain as a result of getting kicked/hit in the leg. And as if that sort of fakery and diving weren't obvious enough, almost every time a soccer player gets "injured" and then is stretchered off the field, he almost immediately pops right back up and re-enters the game, obviously not injured. The sport of soccer would be so much better off without that embarrassing nonsense.

    Missed a few although I don't have to see some of them because some of the riders died in them. Johnny Hoogerland terrible crash into barb wire, Joseba Beloki terrible crash that ended his professional carrier where Armstrong barely escaped in the famous video of him going through the grass in that hairpin and didn't fall. Fabio Cassartelli who died in a horrible crash at the descent of Col de Portet d'Aspet in the Tour de France 1995. Wouter Weylandt who died in a horrible crash at the 3rd stage of the Giro 'd Italia 2011 (descent of Passo del Bocco) with his nr 108 that after his death is never been used anymore in the Giro. That same Giro was originally won by Alberto Contador but he lost his title because of doping so the nr 2 Michele Scarponi took over the title and won that Giro but sadly he also died in a traffic accident in 2017 during a training session 😢 Respect for their family and friends and let's never forget them

    • @Alan_Hans__

      #2 Richie Port broken collarbone and pelvis
      #3 broken collarbone and sever concussion
      #4 broken shoulderblade
      Nearly all of the crashes involve huge crashes that took multiple riders out of the race with broken bones, concussions, etc. A crash with 10 or 20 riders going down vs 1 where the rider completed the stage after a crash. Gilbert did pull out of the race but he may be the only rider to have completed the stage after 1 of the top 8 scariest crashes.
      A fractured knee cap doesn't even rate on that scale.
