I was in a bad car accident which I was not at fault for and I still ended up owing over 50k for all the treatments and the initial ER visit and 1k for the ambulance ride. Couldn’t identify the driver because I was knocked unconscious and it was at night so no witnesses. Since I couldn’t identify someone else to sue, I sued my insurance company. They offered me 33k. Yeah I don’t know why anyone would choose to live here unless you’re a billionaire.

Oh no, in my country we have a lot of Chinese people who end up dying due to Death Cap poisonings as they look very similar to straw mushrooms, which are native to many parts of china and they pick them without thinking. You can’t go about eating things off the ground if you don’t know what they are! I can do that around my state because I’ve studied and investigated the wild food around my region but take me somewhere else and I’d be lost!

I actually used to hitchhike a lot this is was in like 2010 and 2011. And then once I got a vehicle in like 2015 I started picking up hitchhikers a lot. And I never had anything bad happen. Everyone was always so kind and cool and I always made a lot of new friends. And people I picked up on the side of the road they were almost always trying to get to their jobs but didn't have a vehicle. So they would always be like hey come in I can get you a free meal or a discount at wherever they worked. And I guess because everything always worked out for me one of my friends decided they were going to do it so one of my friends picked up a hitchhiker and he was immediately carjacked and left on the side of the road. They did find his car for weeks. Then when they did the back window was totally gone and it was full of used "protection". (He was fine and unharmed by the way and we are actually married now) And he won't let me pick up hitchhikers anymore
A friend of mine in highschool once missed the bus to school, and started walking (she lived like 15 minutes away by car, so it would be a long walk) and eventually got a ride from some random lady who she said she “thinks might have been one of her friends moms but she wasn’t really sure and didn’t want to ask Becuase it would be kind of rude” Another fine that same friend skipped school and left her phone at home and was just walking around town and eventually ended up at a Home Depot, where she met some guy who said he was in high school but was suspended, and she ended up GOING TO THIS GUYS HOUSE to call her parents. Her justification for this was “he said his grandmother would be home (which turned out to be true) and he was really nice to me”. Both situations luckily turned out alright, and neither of the people did anything bad and genuinely helped her, but when me and another friend heard about this we both freaked out and told her never to do that again because she literally could have been murdered.
In reality most people would be fine in these situations :) stranger danger is something drilled into our heads but actually it’s not really true. The most dangerous is the home and most people get harmed/kidnapped by people they know

Just imagine someone you don’t know touches you inappropriately you’d tell someone immediately and it would have repercussions of some kind. Now imagine someone you know touches you - who are you going to tell? Other people you know and probably also know the one who did it and might even believe them over you or an outsider which you’ve been told all your life you can’t trust … yeah

My friend told me she was in yellowstone once and she saw a family of bears. She has a realistic bear mask or hat or something and put it on, then GOT OUT OF THE CAR. The bears looked at her and apparently a park ranger that was nearby was like "WTF ARE YOU DOING GET IN YOUR CAR!!!!!"
I can't tell if it would be a good or bad idea to set them on the bison. On one hand, might get charged and flipped and maybe have the lesson stick. On the other hand, might just end with a permanent dirt nap...
Omg, this is exactly like my girlfriend..shes scared of nothing, except for things that pose no actual threat to her. Like, she'll straight up drive 50 over the speed limit, go riding at the speed of light down a hill, try and make friends with aggressive animals, walk into traffic without looking, accept a ride from a weird man in a black Civic with tinted ass windows, drink milk thats over a month old, and jump from a third story balcony. But the second i tell her about how i like night time walks in the forest, (we dont really have any seriously dangerous animals where i live, and as long as you bring a light and some protection, youre basically completely safe) suddenly shes worried about monsters, urban legends, and murder clowns because shes scared of the dark 💀 like gurl, as long as you dont say their names, or whistle near the forest, aint nothing gonna get you, smh 🤦♂

I fear I may have strengthened her body too much. She did the handstand with a broken arm once. She has gotten four concussions in her lifetime and walked each of them off VERY quickly. At this point the local hospital knows my sister by her first name and knows what food she likes.

I always say the universe never gives you what you want. When you have a death wish, the universe never grants it.

This must be why Japanese cartoons are a contentious topic for some parents (some kids aren't allowed to ever watch them). The entire culture as well. And their bodies.

I had a friend follow a stranger to an abandoned church after asking random people on the street in Mexico where he could buy some weed, he gave the stranger money and was told to wait there. He waited for hours and luckily for him nobody came back. Another friend was LARPing a 70’s coming of age movie in Colorado and was hitchhiking in the mountains, a woman blasted on crystal meth picked him up and was gunning it through tight mountain roads going 80 MPH and would not let him out. He ended up having to bail out of the vehicle and run. Some people are genuinely hard to keep alive and it’s nothing but dumb luck and the concerted efforts of exasperated friends they survive year after year.
Similarly, there's always that guy who's the nicest but doesn't understand women's survival instincts. My buddy from work. He's literally the nicest dude you'll ever meet, but he was totally confused why, when he found a woman lost in the parking garage, she turned down his offer of driving her to her car. I tried to explain to him, to her you're a stranger. She doesn't know you like we do. And he's just like "but I'm not a murderer I'm so confused" 😅 come to think of it it must be annoying being perceived in a way where people are afraid of you but we're just out here not trying to get murdered you know
