This is my favorite team. I know most people like the '80 team but this team was entertaining. They got our hopes up and gave us some great games and great plays. The brutal D line, the speed receivers, the quality secondary were all typical Raiders.
This 1993 Raiders team played a TON of close games - 12 of their 16 regular-season games were decided by 7 or less and they had a lot of crazy finishes - and also came very close to beating Buffalo in 0-degree weather in the playoffs. But like all the 1990s Raider teams they could not beat the Chiefs to save their lives.
Jeff hostetler was really good for the raiders . He came to the team Have an already won a Super Bowl as a starting QB for the Giants so he was already proven. He was the first person at that time to pass for over 3000 yards for the Raiders since Kenny Stabler back in the 70s.
Thanks for posting this. I was at that game. When Jaeger kicked it I started cursing because I thought it was blocked. Man did I go nuts when it was good!
When discussing the effect of the thin air on long field goals (at 38:20) and on Denver sports teams' relative home field advantage, Al Michaels borrowed heavily from the Colorado Rockies essay in the 1993 Elias Baseball Analyst.
Art Shell was 11-1 vs Denver (including playoffs) and 9-2 vs Seattle. He owned THAT 1/2 of the AFC West. The problem was, he was 2-10 against KC (including playoffs) and 4-7 against the Chargers, the teams that would control the division from 1991-1994.
I remember this game well, I was working nights and my sister recorded it for me on a VHS and I watched the next morning without knowing the outcome until I finished watching it, The '93 Raiders were a good team but Buffalo was still the team to beat in the AFC although the Raiders blew a 17-6 lead to them in the divisional round losing 29-23.
Great game, great video mastering, great quality! RAIDERS always seem to get screwed somehow, playing in Denver, but this is one of the times they were able to pull it out in the end, and shut that big, stupid, horse-toothed mouth of Elway!
I miss the Raider teams of the 90s I know they didn't always have the best record but always had a pretty damn good defense and we're in most games, always been Jeff Hostetler fan I met him in Seattle at a Seattle Raiders game he is a big human being in real life
Man the 93 season took years off my life..that team had a ton of talent but was just a train wreck from a coaching/discipline standpoint and as a result had 3 or 4 ridiculous friggin losses that kept us from having a 12-13 win season..after Ron Wolf left to go rebuild Green Bay(how in God’s name Al ever let him leave was insanity all by itself)that was the end of us trying to bring in talent of course but also hard-nosed and smart/disciplined football players..Al just never placed any importance on anything but talent and the teams from the 90’s up until 98 when Gruden came unfortunately showed it
Bearded Flipper Yes AL was obviously a legend to the NFL and also to us as fans of the team but it became an uphill battle for all of us in later years starting with Wolf’s departure but then even with that said we actually lucked out with what turned out to be a great triumvirate of Bruce Allen..Gruden..and Gannon who I think FINALLY and not since the Madden/Wolf/Stabler-Plunkett years did AL somewhat view as equals to him but unfortunately that only bought us time before AL’s ways started to creep back in again..didn’t like that Gruden had become the face of the franchise and was obviously getting the credit for turning the whole operation around and then of course when Gruden’s contract was expiring and AL was gonna finally have to pay him what he was worth he didn’t want to😂plain and simple..he had him for 4 seasons 98-01 at what turned out to be the bargain of all time at barely 1 million per year but then soon as it was time for him to finally ante up he didn’t wanna do it..AL HATED paying coaches..OVERPAID for players all day long😂but it killed him to have to pay coaches🤦🏻♂️Rest is history and boy did it get rough starting with that Super Bowl holy s**t..this right now seems like paradise compared to the post Super Bowl years OMG
I remember the game! After the 1st half i thought it was over... I thought Elway would find a way in the second half! it's great to watch the game again!
When Rod Bernstein came to the team. I was happy that Gaston Green was replaced , but still sorely missed the potential of Bobby Humphrey. RB was solid , but was glad he was just keeping the seat warm for Terrell Davis. I’ll also reiterate what’s been mentioned many times here , great quality of video. Whatever you did worked very well.
I remember this snapped a long run of terrible games on MNF - it was only the fourth time in the last 32 games on Monday nights that the winning score came in the final minute. From mid '91 through this point in '93 there were some truly awful games and it became kind of a national punchline. They got better after this one though.
Only in Denver could a kick that low, that ugly, from 52 yards be good. But then again it doesn't matter how pretty or ugly they are, they're all beautiful when they go through the uprights
That game against the Bengals was ugly for the Raiders, the Bengals were winless 0-10 and the Raiders lost to them but next week the Raiders win at Buffalo best team in the AFC that year go figure.
Yep, I remember that game well. We lost 16-10 couldn't get any type of offense going. I remember thinking " How the fuck did they lose to the 0-10 Bengals!!!" the following week against Buffalo was a sweet victory.... Unfortunately we lost to them in the divisional round 29-23. I was crushed when we lost that game.
Rygar4256 Argus Yeah I was crushed too when the Raiders loss to the Bills in the 2nd round that year, Raiders dominated the Bills in the First half, couldn't get much offense going in the 2nd half. I always think what if the Raiders would have hung on to the beat the Bills, would they have beat the Chiefs in Arrowhead the next week to get the Superbowl against the Cowboys.
Every Raiders game from this era felt like a trap game whether they won or lost. Usually sloppy, one dimensional, hard nose football with 20 penalties. No team like the Raiders could hit a lull of 3 and outs. They had a way of making teams commit to there style of football though.
Sorry Broncos fans but John Elway ain't the king of comebacks that title belongs to Rodger Staubach everyone knows that second best come from behind Quarterback is the greatest Quarterback in history Joe Montana then is John Elway at number three
I don't care where you rank him as far as comeback kings go. If I were coaching against Elway and had a TD or less lead with 2 minutes to go, I would still be very uncomfortable. If you don't believe me go ask Marty Schottenheimer about that
I love the quality of this classic game. Thank you for the time you have put into these Raiders games.

Before Anthony Smith murdered people for which he was convicted, he murdered Gary Zimmerman, and then John Elway.

Thanks for posting these classic Raider games!
RAIDERS!! Masters of Monday Night Football
Good looking out I've been wanting to watch this game for a while.
Man! The Raiders used to punk the Broncos until Shanahan took over. 🤷♂️😂. Raiders still own the all time head to head record vs Denver. 💀
Lol. Gotta hang your hat on something. Last I checked, it's 3-3 in super bowl wins, the only stat that matters.
Raiders4life!!! I’m reliving my teenage years of watching my fav team!

Hoss came to the Raiders and won big games. I miss this era.
A RAIDERS CLASSIC
Thank you for uploading these classics, man! It's always great to watch the donkeys lose... always!! SILVER AND BLACK FOR LIFE!!!!
Great game. I remember watching it. What a finish.

Thank you!
Great rivalry and entertaining games between these teams.
The Raiders were the rock to the Chiefs paper to the Broncos scissors.
Thanks so much....how are you getting this quality...I am amazed..
Thank you!

the game was MNF of week 7, season 1993
its been corrected. Thanks for the heads up.
I could not believe that a kick from 50+ yards get to be so low and yet still cross the uprights.
Only in Denver could a kick that low, that ugly, from 52 yards be good. But then again it doesn't matter how pretty or ugly they are, they're all beautiful when they go through the uprights
RAIDERS NATION!!
You left out the Intro done by Kiss. Still this was a great game.
Dominating Denver for generations comeback kid Elway had a losing record against the Raiders currently 8 wins in a row
Great RAIDERS team
Raiders
1:44:26
L.A. Raiders Defense always had Elways # and would treat him like ragdoll
Do you have any other Raider games from 1993? Raiders vs Bengals? And Raiders vs vikings home opener?
Sorry, I don't.
That game against the Bengals was ugly for the Raiders, the Bengals were winless 0-10 and the Raiders lost to them but next week the Raiders win at Buffalo best team in the AFC that year go figure.

That 1993 Raiders squad is one of my all-time favorite Raiders teams. They were a scrappy bunch. We had ZERO Running game though
Rygar4256 Argus Yeah I was crushed too when the Raiders loss to the Bills in the 2nd round that year, Raiders dominated the Bills in the First half, couldn't get much offense going in the 2nd half. Broncos D was a disaster in 93. No talent for Wade to work his magic. 93 season was all Elway and Sharpe.
Jeff “Mick” Jaeger
2:10:45 damn raiders really were denver's kryptonite
1:51:42 Elway rolling left firing a bullet
Every Raiders game from this era felt like a trap game whether they won or lost. Usually sloppy, one dimensional, hard nose football with 20 penalties. No team like the Raiders could hit a lull of 3 and outs. They had a way of making teams commit to there style of football though.
You cut out The KISS intro
1:49:00 nice run after catch
Following ya on Twitter
Can you upload the Broncos at Raiders 1994 playoff game? Thanks bro. ☠️👍
YT blocked it. Go to my twitter page (@NYRaider88) and scroll down my timeline. I had posted it there.
NY Raider88 damn. That sucks.
@@America-jy9hz did u find it?
NY Raider88 no sir. Not yet. I’ll check it out.
Pretty sure both the Raiders and Broncos missed the playoffs in '94, genius..they played in the playoffs first round in this 1993 season.
11:45 that was a garbage call.
1:40:33 sad to see .. I'm guessing the beginnings of the bitch penalties being phased in ?
Why did this Raiders team ever run? Just a wasted down every time.
Raiders dominated Denver ELWAY
Officials was horrible and bias they favored Denver
Raiders have embarrassed the division since 1983 so their Dan base has to cheer SOMETHING
ELAM is a bad actor
Sorry Broncos fans but John Elway ain't the king of comebacks that title belongs to Rodger Staubach everyone knows that second best come from behind Quarterback is the greatest Quarterback in history Joe Montana then is John Elway at number three
Kenny Stabler was the king of comeback’s
