Me too. Raised in Miami. Born 1962. Can remember every Super Bowl they were in and can still 2nd guess plays in my head. We should have beat Kansas City and Pittsburgh. I never thought as I watch Super Bowl 11 at 14 that I would be 60 and still waiting for them to even get back to a Super Bowl
Yeah this was really the carryover in '76 to one of the greatest teams of all time if you ask me the '70s Vikings if they had just won one super bowl I think they would be the most famous defense of that era I think they're the best defensive all time if you go back and look at their statistics for 10 years The numbers are staggering they had a year where they only gave up like 120 points or something maybe it was 113 it was something crazy in a 14 game schedule and they was number one against the run and the past two or three different times just a dominant dominant football team and for some reason they lost those four games but they were just an awesome team but yeah this team in '76 was what should have happened in 75 I think in 75 they may have won the super bowl have they got there they were so good that season

This season was fun, and I got to see at least 4 regular season games on tv that year. Then the playoffs kicked ass, until the Super Bowl of course. Sammy White was fun to watch. Chuck Foreman was amazing. Fran was still a great QB, although this was the year that you could see his arm strength, which was never great to begin with, diminish a bit.

Pat Summerall narrated this highlight real. Hall of Fame members: Fran Tarkenton, Carl Ellerd, Mike Tinglehoff, Alay Page, Paul Krause, Bud Grant. Jim Marshall should be in the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
I’ve always wondered if Marshall really deserved to be in the hall of fame or is it just because of longevity that people say that he should be. I’m just asking the question because he was already old and on the downside when I started watching football so I didn’t get to see his best years.
Joe McConnell was the Minnesota Vikings radio announcer in the mid 70 but he was the voice on NBA radio in the early 90s with analyst Bob Lanier for all 3 Chicago Bulls world Championship plus he was radio voice for the Chicago bears in the early 80s don't forget he was the radio voice of the Indianapolis colts also
Thanks Randy for uploading all these Highlights. I am a Veteran and I quit the NFL, like a lot of folks when the "new" players knelt during our Anthem. The 2021 Season the NFL got it's act together (probably due to lost revenue) so I again went into the pain zone with the Vikings whom I have followed for 52 years. Lots of memories in these vids. Many veterans like myself supported players kneeling ,the kneel procedure in actuality had obsolutely nothing to do with disparaging the symbolic idealogy of america nor attempt to persuade Americans to refute nationalism,those fraudulent assessments were created ,and bellowed by nonobjective counter partisans who ironically have been historical beneficiaries of African American human rights denial . Many African American military veterans who've served their country with conviction have returned home to American only to be treated like a 3 class citizen ,including today ,often suffering from horrid racial actions in the military ,compound that with non military African Americans unfortunate experiences with racism and the kneel.procedure intentions to direct civil attention towards ethnic human rights equality becomes understood . Historically, every ethnicity who've ventured into America have pledged acts of protest in order to obtain notice and legislation towards their ethnic fraternity groups human rights agendas . The kneel process wasn't even intended to be a diversion process which separated the actual game from the social plight ,it was merely implemented to bring African American human rights awareness , it ironically was breathed a broader platform by those upon whom ethnic group utilized protest in American history for their piece of human rights equality as well .

I'm 68 years old and a Life time Cowboys Fan but I miss the good Ole days of the Frozen Tundra. the Vikings sure had some great teams then to not at least win one. I sure was disappointed when they lost to the Raiders in SB 11. They were still the NFC Rep and I Hated the Steelers and Raiders back then. I always wished they would kill each other when they would meet in the AFC playoffs. most of the time they did!!

I'd say 1970, 1971, 1972, 1973. IMO, this team really should have won it all in at least one of those years. Especially 1970. By 1976 the older people on the defense were running out of steam. Larger players were being drafted also and by 1976 they were playing against larger teams. But Grant always got the most out of what he had, which was what made him a great coach. IMO 1969 was their "coming out" but they really needed a big strong versatile running back like a Franco Harris and an offense that could strike quickly. They weren't quite there yet, and were blindsided by KC, who they beat handily in the first game of the 1970 regular season. The 1970 Vikes handily beat both participants of SB V, Dallas during regular season play (54-13) and Colts 52-14 the year before. I will always believe that 1970 should have been the year they finally won it all, but they let Joe Kapp get away. Pennywise and pound-foolish, give the guy his money for cry'n out loud.

I remember exzactly what the third man said to me: "So you wanna see the game sunny, here you go," Grampa he gave me his ticket, I saw, now you go in - but grampa, there only one ticket, what about you? Go in, I'll wait for here . So I did, g-pa are you going to climb over the chain link fence ? No, see that tunnel #10 over there , yea, slide me your ticket through the fence, then I'll meet you right there - WAIT RIGHT THERE . I remember more about getting into the game then the game. And for sure I'd would have thought Minnesota would have a few rings by now. 46 years, thats alot of "will get it next year"

Yes Bud Grant is a legendary coach, but I believe it was Joe Kapp, quarterback 1968 came up with that 40 men's for 60 minutes. Go Vikings

In 1976 the Vikings won the rematches from the Dolphins and Steelers from the Super Bowls
The Vikings fielded such great teams in the 1970s other than Miami I think they should have won any of the other three games
