Love how concise, enthusiastic, and informative this new series start was........definitely need more of these especially highlighting older or less mainstream but quality games.
Love Citadels and have the full master set...however the other couple I game with have mixed feelings. This is a great new format Mr. B.G. look forward to more videos.
I love the updated master set, and really need to get it out more once Covid is not an issue. I especially like the suggested roles to use for the type of game you want.
I first played the original game about 7 years ago and despite me nearly always losing to the people more experienced with the game, I still thoroughly enjoyed it. A few years ago I got my hands on the Citadels: Classic Edition, on Zatu games, mainly because I wasn't that interested in the new artwork and I didn't want a massive box with all the extras when the cheaper and smaller edition was fine on its own. Now with the slimmed down updated box of the new version, it became tempting to buy. However, only just yesterday on eBay I found a copy of the original + dark city expansion that was brand new and sealed. And amazingly I didn't have to break the bank for it. Despite owning the classic edition, I couldn't pass up on this opportunity to own the original, plus it has lots more artwork left out of the classic edition.
Wow.. 10 out of 10?!?! Great video. I remember that 2000 edition of Citadels when we first opened our board game store 😊 I’ve not played this updated version however. Guess I’ll have to check it out 👍🏽

The reason for why this game has gone up in score for me, is because the new rules are sooooo much better. This game is a FANTASTIC 2 player game. 2 player is the BEST way to play citadels honestly.
Funny, I've often found Citadels goes too long, at least an hour whenever I played it before and no way near fun enough for that length of time. Maybe a 6/10 in my book, guess that's the joy of having opinions!
@@TheBrokenMeeple to be fair, I haven't played it for several years, not long after the edition that included the dark city expansion came out. Maybe if I'm ever near Portsmouth I'll have to get you to try and change my mind

Completely agree that this game is amazing. But 2-5 players? I've played and enjoyed it at 8 Players.
Too much downtime with 6 plus players.

If it takes longer than an hour, things have gone wrong. But an hour is perfectly fine for its length when you got 4-5 of you handy.

"Skip a turn" mechanism should be illegal.
Played it once with 6 players. Hate waiting for turns. None of us actually enjoyed it and wanted to end the game asap.
Never play with more than five.
