Here's a close look at how we build our flagship boot, the JK Superduty. This version is in Bison leather with a Vibram honey lug outsole.
JK Boots makes all our boots at our workshop in Washington with 100% USA leather.
Even for a heavy duty work boot like the Superduty, the supple, flexible bison leather and more shock absorbent Vibram honey sole make for a more comfortable, easy to wear work boot.

Similar to my new boots. They're just as impressive in person! The bison leather is great on my feet even with only a week's break-in. Their sizing is different from anyone else, but they give pretty good instructions for finding your JK size. If I had to buy another pair (which I'm happy to say I don't) I'd go with one less 'E' of width, but otherwise, everything is top-notch! They even called me after they arrived to make sure everything was good. This is an outstanding company!

Short wide feet and they sized me up and they fit perfectly, break in is basically non existent, the footbed in the arch area has to form to my foot but the rest of the boot has no hotspots or anything, and I think the price speaks for itself, you’re really getting what you paid for in these boots. I would recommend for sure.

With how the economy is, cars are 2x as expensive, beef is 3x as expensive, and houses are 2x as expensive as before. I can not believe they still charge 500-650 for a pair. These things should cost over a thousand for how much labor and material goes into it.
I was shocked at how little they cost (considering)! They're expensive, but I don't think they're high for what you're getting.

JK builds a boot that quality control rivals those in the $1000+ range. I had a hell of a time with the sizing trying to order some OT's. I ended up giving a pair of 11 5E's to my supervisor who is a true 13EE on the brannock. I'm a 12.5E HTB. I initially ordered my go to length (12) which was hilariously huge. I'd love to give them another shot but would probably need to speak to someone from CS on the phone for a few minutes.
With these boots you order 1 size smaller shoe size. If you sent them back they would have corrected it for you. I did the same thing with my first pair
@@ray-vf6ux I did do that. I ordered a 12 the first time. They were almost an inch longer than my normal boots. I wear a 12E in Nick's/White's. Just have to figure out JK

You should consider using that "wash"? that you used to paint the sides of the soles on not just honey soles. The dark brown you use on the black soles hides the leather heel stack too much. It's so good to see the layers! A tan colour for that would go so well with a redwood leather

Hey, nobody dig on me for saying this: I finally invested in some quality boots…RedWing’s Iron Rangers. I know, I know they don’t hold a candle to these. Leather thickness is halved in almost every way, but it’s a start. I’m 50, and made my first step into the realm of “good” boots. Maybe next time I can upgrade to these bison Jake, or Nick’s. Cheers.
I went from Dr Martins at $180 to Red Wing at $300 and it was well worth the upgrade!

It looks really nice and durable, the sole seems a bit thin for the half cm thick Bison leather, wouldn't it be more stylish and robust if the sole seams were also inside the pre-opened channel? In order to buy this boot, I have to work in Turkey for 2-3 months without spending any money, so those who buy it need to know its value.
I'm gonna ask my wife to get me these. They are built with purpose and quality . China, Korea, Vietnam any of those places couldn't clean the floors of this company.

I expected my bison Superduty’s to be sweaty, but they are not - after a 3 hr hike in warm, moderately humid weather, my socks were only slightly damp - the bison leather appears to breath surprisingly well.

What is the quality difference between cow hide and bison?
Great question! Both the bison and cow leather we use to make our boots is high quality that will perform and last for a long time. The bison leather has different properties than the cow leather that go beyond just appearance. The "bumpy" leather from the bison actually makes the leather more flexible while still remaining thick. This makes bison leather extremely durable while also being one of the most comfortable leathers to have in a boot. Hope this answers your question!
