@@tenowski.branding glad I could be of service. I'm going to blame new mom brain for my stint in Paparazzi. I had just had a baby, been fired when they found out I was pregnant, and I'm sitting here with a new baby, a new phone, and no job. When a friend invited me to a Paparazzi party, I was hooked. Good evening, as a former paparazzi consultant I just wanted to add this note! We would get free pieces called HOSTESS REWARDS! They were crappy usually old pieces we’d get in our orders. 1 fresh piece for every 10 we purchased . RE: Norwex - I went to a party once and was completely shocked and appalled that the rep wrote on the host's living room window WITH A STICK of BUTTER. Initially, it looked like the cloth cleaned it up beautifully, but as we were saying our goodbyes, I noticed the window was all smeared when you looked at it from certain angles. Gross!

I want the mailbox one to respond to the text with “I’m afraid I have discussed this with my lawyer and they have advised me to halt communication until the case has been settled.” Scare her into not bugging you
Hey Hannah, I think I remember you saying you are from Washington state? I was at the Puyallup fair last month and I saw 3 MLMs running 4 booths. One Scentsy, one DoTerra and two CutCo. As I walked past each of them I said very loudly (while pointing) "THAT'S A PYRAMID SCAM, WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED TO HAVE A BOOTH HERE?" Only one dirty look, I'm afraid. Keep fighting the good fight everyone!!
The Norwex party story makes me think of when I attended a Partylite party. It's basically the reason why these parties exist: peer pressure and not wanting to offend or disappoint. There's the host, who in my case was a friend. And she invited the sales rep, who also seems like a nice person. We've been eating snacks and whatever together, because it's a party, and the host is serving food and drinks. No matter how overpriced the candles were, everyone else bought them except me. And I did experience peer pressure. We were all young and broke, and my friend had explicitly said, that she just wanted to see what this party would be like, and we weren't at all obliged to buy anything (she just needed people to fill in some required number of guests). So I took her for her word and didn't buy, but everyone got excited about the candles. Partylite had nice colors and fragrances, and pretty candle holders. These kinds of stuff were available elsewhere, but this was in the very early -00's, so it wasn't as common. It isn't a horror story, and while the rep had brochures about becoming reps ourselves, she never pushed it. The whole party was really about selling candles. But none of us went bankrupt over the purchases. Just to say there really is peer pressure in that situation, and a reason why the older MLMs used to do in person parties.
Hannah's uploads are chef's kiss! Soothing and informative, not to mention you read it well with body language going with the story. Great upload, Hannah.
My mom got pulled over into Mary Kay from since I was a teenager. We are originally from the Caribbean and didn’t know anything about mlms and I honestly thought it was a good opportunity for her. My mom worked hard everyday to provide for us. She still does it but doesn’t do anything like this, she takes her products to a store a friend owns and sets up there. She doesn’t hound people and if she does get a phone number after if after 3 times and she doesn’t get an answer she stops. Idk if it’s the Caribbean mindset but she respects boundaries. Probably why she’s doesn’t make big money but she’s retired now and keeps doing it. I support her by buying one or two products cause she’s my mom. But I wish I knew what mlms were at the time so I could have kept her away from it.
I used to teach handwashing and other Red Cross classes and glow germ is basically lotion with a glittery/blacklight substance inside. It’s not intended to demonstrate the effectiveness of cleaning products. It’s just to show kids how to wash their hands.
If the paparazzi rep was leaving her card, why on earth would they not contact her to tell her to stop dumping her junk? Obviously she wasn’t getting the hint. She left her contact info. Use it.
Exactly! I think I also would have reported them for littering after they left the bag of junk. In my city if you take that amount of trash to the recycling station, it's going to cost you money. Unless the jewelry is made out of metal, because then you can recycle it for free.
Honestly I don't think her repeatedly putting more stuff there was any weirder than putting the first thing there. How was she supposed to know they were being removed bc they weren't appropriate and not bc people wanted them? (Pretending of course that it was reasonable for her to put the first one there, I mean) IDK Maybe my social reference point is horribly cooked rn due to the Mary Kay story right before it, but this really feels like a situation where I don't get the avoidance of communication.
I think that in that story that OP and her mom were scared to contact her in fear because that girl KNOWS where they live and it could get messy very soon Not saying that OP shouldn't have tried to contact the rep, but I kind of get why she and her mom are trying to avoid any serious problems
If it were me I wouldn't contact the rep because they clearly know where I live and I'm not going to provide my contact information on top of that. Instead I'd put up a little sign that the mini library is for books only and anything else will be removed; this way they can't think that the stuff is gone because people like it
What’s crazy to me about MLM huns is that they seem to be brainwashed into losing any sense of dignity. Like the number of recruitment messages I get from girls I haven’t spoken to in 5-10 years is astounding. They’ll just lead in with a, “Hey girl!” like we just had coffee yesterday. I would be mortified to do that
With our neighbourhood free library, most people will throw away any crap that is not books. A few people even posted passive aggressive photos of the mlm stuff in the bin on the neighbourhood facebook page, but this is Australia so people don't care about being "nice".
I once attended an MLM party with my mom at a coffee shop in my hometown (it was a large space, a combination concert venue, and coffee shop, with enough seats and space so we weren't taking up space from other people) and honestly I wish it had been compelling because it was the most boring thing I've ever had the misfortune to attend... and I've been to several timeshare pitches as a kid... At least I got to go out to dinner after the time-share pitches! I don't even remember which MLM it was because it was literally so boring, I wanted to fall asleep.
So last summer I was on a playground with my son and he met a girl his age, they were playing, having fun while her mom sat next to me on the bench. We started talking casually and she seemed very friendly and funny. I live in Ukraine, we don't usually talk to strangers like this, and it was nice to have a friendly conversation with another mom for once. And suddenly after almost 30 minutes of chatting she said "I can see you're into makeup, can I interest you with this Polish brand?" Honestly it felt like a slap across the face. Here I am just enjoying sunny weather, thinking I'm having a pleasant conversation with a stranger, when she tosses it all in the trash and completely ruins my day. I swear huns are the worst, there is really no line they wouldn't cross. It's like a cult, an addiction, when all you can think about is how to make more sales. You only see people as potential clients, you're not interested in a conversation unless it leads to recruitment. It's sick and annoying, and it's still makes me cringe every time I think about it.
I had a coworker take me to one of these MLM companies' informational conferences one time. I just remember him holding his folder to his chest, beaming up at the two men in suits telling us all we can become rich and successful without having to put out any real work and you could just tell he believes it SO much. He actually thinks in a few months he will have thousands of dollars worth of passive income rolling in. It makes me feel kind of sad, actually. 😢
Back when I was working at a Chili's someone left business cards for a makeup MLM on our bathroom counter. With the way they were arranged, it could have only been left deliberately but who in the world thinks the gross bathroom of a cheap restaurant is the place to pitch their business opportunity.
Dad bods are socially accepted when it's the mother's who birthed a literal human and yet is expected to "get back" to pre-baby weight. Let's quit judging people on their bodies, hmm?
One of the best compliments I've ever received is when my daughter's Mother's Day project from school (Kindergarten or first grade) described me as "luxorious" (sic.). I asked her what she meant, and she said she just loved how soft I was - especially in the "bingo wings" area. 😆 It put some things in perspective! Now she's 13 and won't cuddle with me unless she's sick. LOL
Absolutely the best TH-cam moment of the week is a new Hannah! You have surpassed every single one of the TH-camrs that I follow. You’re so bright and articulate and interesting. You could read the phone book and I would listen.❤
We love the Physics for Babies books!! They're written by a physicist, and so many people in the amazon reviews say that they, the parents, learned something from them 😂 My husband is also a physicist and is impressed with how they approach the topics. We have a small collection and hope to get the whole series eventually!
Epicure is insanely popular in all of the Celiac Facebook groups. To the point that the one in my hometown is run by an Epicure hun - you can't even ask for a recipe or a gluten-free food without an Epicure hun suggesting that you buy a product from her.
I had a MK rep who was an absolute crazie in the 90s. I was young ( 18/19) but she'd come into my work and constantly drop off samples etc. She was always just overly happy and nuts. She was very pushy and someone she convinced me, and I mean this.... She convinced me to invite her to my WEDDING!!!! I was only 22yrs but we had to pay per head and I did not want to pay for her or her husband. But she was just so pushy and I guess I was so young and didn't know how to stand up for myself. So she guilted me into inviting her and her husband! She and her husband OF COURSE came to the wedding. Where she proceeded to try and sell half my guests on having a MK spa party. So glad I left that job bc she lived right by. Once I left that job I never spoke to her again. Sometimes I look back on my younger self and wish I could help her be more assertive. 😂😮😮
Needless to say I can't STAND Mary Kay products, reps, all of it. It's just a big fat lie. One good thing that came of that experience was when I became a real estate agent I initially signed up with Keller Williams... The first week of their "Ignite" training reminded me so much of the Mary Kay rep I had as a stalker once that I quit . Seriously, left KW and joined another brokerage. So glad I did. From everything I could tell KW is 100% an MLM!!!!!!!!!! Gotta buy their books, gotta buy their coaching, gotta pay to go to their next big conference, then recruit, recruit, recruit! And brainwash you into cold calling and knocking on doors. Just awful.
I want to share my horror stories, but truthfully, MLM horror stories have been my whole life. My grandparents, my parents, several siblings, aunts, cousins - so many around me are walking MLM horror stories every day. And the lucky girl syndrome. 100% my childhood. 🙃 Going down the rabbit hole in this videos feels like confirmation from the outside world that completely shutting that out of my life was the best choice 😂
Tw: Listen as a former “beach body” coach. This is relatable. I was one those “rawr rawr “ coaches, I am embarrassed now. I liked some of the workouts. But I hated the “coaching” part cause I invested hundreds,if not thousands. It was horrible. Ed got really bad…it was crazy spiral. I use to make content on it, I think some may still be up. But omg…I had horror stories. I’m not saying I didn’t create some friendship’s . But this whole line up stuff didn’t sit right with me.. I also was in my postpartum when I became a “coach”. I lost my identity for years and I am finally feeling myself.
Hey Hannah I've been binging your anti MLM and scam videos and I wish I had stumbled upon them way earlier. I'm a gap year student looking to work remotely and there were plenty of times where I was so close to falling to these traps in social media. Fortunately I've now found a more honest work doing church services as a start instead of looking for some easy cash online. Your videos have helped me become more aware and critical when searching for remote job opportunities so thank you! Keep it up!
Man. Some of these stories make me wish I *did* have MLM huns in my area. I can be confrontational as heck, and there are days when that urge really needs an outlet. (I'm positive they exist around here -- I don't live in some MLM-free utopia -- but I don't get out much and don't really give off approachable vibes when I'm out and about.)
Omg when I did TUPPERWARE I did the same thing…cringe…I added orange peeler in a bag with a catalogue in a book library. I was only with Tupperware for like 4-6 months before I realized all the money I spent and wasn’t making much of anything, so I did this to find people to buy/recruit 😂 I even put this stuff in mailboxes 😬
I was in paparazzi for like a week and bought all jewelry myself! $100 worthy, they were ugly in person and no one wanted them and some was damaged -_- I felt so dumb lol but also I was so upset at a friend I looked up to that was older than me by like 10 years I was like why would you make me waste money. Never trusted her again and never spoke again lol
After so many days of binge-watching your MLM horror stories, I am proud to say that I'm finished with your MLM horror playlist! I'm glad to finish the playlist haha
Accidentally attended a Norwex party once years ago. They got me for the dryer balls (which I do like and use, but UGH, embarrassing). She still emails me about hosting parties. Btch, lose my contact info 😂
The story about the pulse thing is pissing me off lol. I know nothing about healthcare but I am familiar with the thing that you put on your finger. If someone tried to tell me that a similar looking thing could tell if my arteries were clogged, I would absolutely not believe them. So many people die of heart attacks that if this product existed, it wouldn’t be in a random man’s home. It would be a multi billion dollar product. Then the writer believes that the dude got rich from the product? No. He is either fake rich for the internet or scammed some other way
With the first story she should've gotten the lady's full name, address, and car registration so she could report her to the police for reckless driving (with a child in the car, no less!).
For Norwex, They claim it has silver in it which is what makes it anti microbial. My stepmom is a rep and our house is littered with stuff. I will say that a lot of the stuff is a decent clean but some of it is a huge pain to learn how to use.
Yeah my issue with Norwex is in no way the products, many of them are very good (though overpriced) the issue is the mlm structure (the chicken demo is a hard no for me though 😂)
@MT-fk4ky I agree. I like their products but would prefer they didn't have the mlm part. Their micro cloths are the best quality that I have found so far.
Thank you from Australia for making such thorough, insightful, compassionate content Hannah. I can imagine (happily) what it felt like to be sitting for story time in your classroom when you were a teacher!
My SIL is a Mary Kay rep. She has a big bookshelf full of products. It always looks full but we only see her a couple of times a year so who knows how much she can sell these days. She gave up on trying to get me to use her products 😂
To comment on the quantum physics for babies: those books are great. I got “organic chemistry for babies” as a gift for my best friend’s baby shower. He was my roommate in college and constantly bugged me for help with O chem.
I have been gifted a few Norwex cloths from both my mother and MIL. Supposedly, the deal is that the microfiber is wrapped in silver, which is how it cleans and why they are so expensive. They also say you're not supposed to wash them with any other items to avoid damaging the silver with other types of fiber. Maybe thats why they dont work (or their excuse why they dont work) because its ridiculous to expect people to wash these alone - I definitely didn't follow those instructions.
There is 2 parts why. One if you use softener and detergents with any microfiber ( not just norwex) it cause the material not absorbe as well. Two you can wash any microfiber with fabric that sheds ie fluffy towels. The microfiber will latch onto it. I have had to pick out small pieces of wood after wash my microfiber right after my hubby's work cloths 😑
Hi Hannah, Hope you are doing well. I had this video on while at work. I wanted to leave you a comment to boost engagement, in addition to the watch/click. Sending all my best!
One thing I can gladly say about story 5, minus the fact that I avoid those parties, I can validly avoid trying the food. I'm allergic to all poultry, meaning I can't safely eat any chicken. Thank you, but I do not want an allergic reaction.
Happy Monday, Hannah! Story 2 was so incredibly entertainingly written. Love it. Story 3... lol I have a pulse ox on my desk. Technically my Garmin watch also has a pulse ox on it but due to location it's just not great - it's better at just the pulse part. The absolutely brazen balls on this dude to pull out a frickin pulse ox... that everyone sees whenever they go to the doctor. What a total dork!
Hannah, I love your channel! I get so excited when I see a new video posted and can’t wait to watch it! If at all possible, I know you have a flooding of emails! But, I started watching you in 2020 and sent in my story quite a while ago, maybe two years? Could you maybe find mine? I sent in some pictures with it as well of my mom trying to use my sister and I as models for her Premier designs jewelry when we were children. I understand if you’re too busy to do so. I respect your time and appreciate all that you do to get the videos out that you make. I know your husband is deployed and mine was too in 2022 so I 100% understand how hard it is! Much love 💕
True. Nobody wants actual garbage, and people frequently donate moldy clothes and other such "treasures" to organizations and recycling centers, where it gets thrown away, but also means extra work and extra expenses for the non profit. Refusing to throw out your garbage just forces other people to do that in your behalf.
RE: Pulse Oximeter I'm wouldn't say I'm confrontational, but I'm not afraid to say my piece. I'm not in the medical field, but I know exactly what a pulse oximeter looks like. I only recently learned its name, but the nurse always uses one when taking my vitals. I would have called this out. It's as easy as pulling up a site where one can buy medical equipment, show pictures, and read the product description. Such blatant proof is inarguable. Well, you can try, but you'd sound really dumb.
Two of my neices are in Bodi or Beach Body as previously known. However, they have been informed the company is no longer going to be an MLM. One of them has been in the company for 9 years. I'm sure they both will take a major financial hit. Really sad!
Pulse oximeter, a device that has a know bias against people with more melanin. MLMs a grift known for targeting at risk groups. This definitely is worthy of a "making medical claims" charge to the local medical certification board.
The 3rd story with the medical gadget misuse brought up memories of the Always Sunny episode. "Where do my feet go?" 😂😂😂 Their MLM portrayal was hilarious.
The only MLM I have any patience for is Tupperware. I've never bought any but my mom did as she loved it. (She didn't sell thankfully! Just had friends who did.) As for Norwex, they don't like me. I am an artist/handcrafter and one thing I made was dryer balls from wool yarn scraps from other projects. There were always Norwex people set up at craft/vendor shows. I had people buying dryer balls from me as mine did everything that Norwex claimed but didn't sound like a pair of tennis shoes in the dryer! LOL It is so sad to see jewelry crafters set up selling beautiful hand made jewelry and not far away is a paparazzi seller. People will swarm the Paparazzi stand for the cheap jewelry, by-passing the slightly more expensive yet better quality jewelry.
im very informed about skin care and once there was a lady who approached my mom on the street who was in an mlm (mary kay) . she asked my mom if a she wanted to be some sort of model for the skincare or makeup. typically my mom does not wear makeup but she still agreed bc i wanted her to.(i thought we were doing some sort of act of kindness for the mlm lady). she came over to my moms house and my mom invited one of her neighbors and my aunt aswell. they all got to try the skincare. btw the skincare wasnt doing anything other than make my moms face shiny. the mlm lady lied straight into my moms face about the products. i coreccted her but she just kept on lying. im not saying she was intentionally lying but i just think she was uninformed. my mom ended up buying a whole box of products that she doesnt even use. the mlm lady just seemed rlly troubled to me , because she kept telling that shes is only making very few sales. i dont think she knew she was stuck in an mlm scheme.

As I walked past each of them I said very loudly (while pointing) "THAT'S A PYRAMID SCAM, WHY ARE THEY ALLOWED TO HAVE A BOOTH HERE?" Only one dirty look, I'm afraid. Keep fighting the good fight everyone!!
now i know when i set up my little free library to put "books only" on the guidelines. you'd think you wouldnt have to but wow
She clearly hit the mailbox on PURPOSE
Thank you for what you do 🫶🏼
Oh my goodness… this is SO generous I don’t even know what to say! Thank you so much for your support of the channel! Wow 🥹❤️❤️❤️
It's alright, girl. I have ADHD and don't remember shit, bring it on ❤🎉
Very me 😂😂 play that video!!!
I literally watched the whole video then went to the comments and was confused. I feel seen by your comment lol 😅
😂
ADHD club, woot woot! Infinite Hannah rewatchability!
Me too!💕
I used to teach handwashing and other Red Cross classes and glow germ is basically lotion with a glittery/blacklight substance inside.
I think that in that story that OP and her mom were scared to contact her in fear because that girl KNOWS where they live and it could get messy very soon
Not saying that OP shouldn't have tried to contact the rep, but I kind of get why she and her mom are trying to avoid any serious problems
And suddenly after almost 30 minutes of chatting she said "I can see you're into makeup, can I interest you with this Polish brand?"
Honestly it felt like a slap across the face.
Ah perfect timing I have just sat down with a bowl of pasta 😋 idc if it's reuploaded, there's nothing better than a Hannah vid!
Indeed ❤
We love the Physics for Babies books!! They're written by a physicist, and so many people in the amazon reviews say that they, the parents, learned something from them 😂
My husband is also a physicist and is impressed with how they approach the topics.
Going down the rabbit hole in this videos feels like confirmation from the outside world that completely shutting that out of my life was the best choice 😂
Yall she said she was gonna re-upload the last MLM horror stories post in a community post
You truly have the most pleasant voice in the world. I could listen to you for 5 hours straight 😌
I think I HAVE listened to Hannah for 5 hours straight by binging her videos to catch up. 😂🤣
Cant believe you're almost at 500k subscribers, it's much deserved.
Rewatching and commenting for the algorithm!
Liking your comment for the algorithm 😁💕
I have the same energy. Please approach me Hun, so I can snap back. I would enjoy it. It’s okay to say NO to these rude and ridiculous people.
I'm so early, Zeke hasn't said anything yet 👀
Our Goodwill has entire displays of donate paparazzi jewelry.... I giggle out loud when I saw it all there.
You're almost to 500k subscribers 🥹
OH MY GODDD!!
I’ve missed you, Hannah! Your voice is my comfort blanket these days ❤
I bought some microfiber hand towels from Amazon, and a friend came over and said oh Norwex! And I yelled Norwex did not invent microfiber! 😂😂😂
For Norwex, They claim it has silver in it which is what makes it anti microbial. My stepmom is a rep and our house is littered with stuff. I will say that a lot of the stuff is a decent clean but some of it is a huge pain to learn how to use.
@@thespaceace124 The multipurpose cloth is amazing!
I'm totally using my Clorox wipes while I wipe my counter, wishing it would dry just a little faster.
My SIL is a Mary Kay rep. She has a big bookshelf full of products. It always looks full but we only see her a couple of times a year so who knows how much she can sell these days. She gave up on trying to get me to use her products 😂
the little library hun definitely thinks ppl are loving her costume jewelry and is trying to unload her old stock 😂
I am new here... but i have been on a "hannah binge" for a like a week now... i love your content... please keep it up! 🙂
I'm pacing around my apartment trying to help my newborn go to sleep, happy to have this to listen to!
5:05 The Huns have historically been known for that since 370 A.D.
Why doesn't her mom put a sign saying "No Paparazzi or other merchandise in library or at front door, thank you"
It's fall yard sale season around here, and I have been seeing A LOT of Paparazzi jewelry on tables, discounted to a dollar each.
Im currently binging some old MLM horror story vids of yours when I get the notification that this vid went live!🥰
Watching again for the views (watched it before, watching it again)
So close to 500K! I’ve been here from the start, I remember your first MLM video. Amazing work, I’m so happy for you!
On story 2, if there is a business card, could you not just contact them and nicely ask them to stop putting things in the little library?
Love that we can validate and learn from (and sometimes laugh at) real stories!
Hi Hannah,
Hope you are doing well.
Here to support! Also, in the words of Robert Welsh: “algorithm” 💖
I'm happy to see this video, even if it is a reupload! Thanks, Hannah!
Much love 💕
I looked it up. My name is in my email. And I sent them in April 2022.
I have one from the same line of books: “Nuclear Physics for Babies”. It’s pretty funny and neat.
Not throwing anything away is not the definition of eco-friendly, it’s the definition of hoarding.
True. Nobody wants actual garbage, and people frequently donate moldy clothes and other such "treasures" to organizations and recycling centers, where it gets thrown away, but also means extra work and extra expenses for the non profit.
Refusing to throw out your garbage just forces other people to do that in your behalf.
RE: Pulse Oximeter
I'm wouldn't say I'm confrontational, but I'm not afraid to say my piece.
Well, you can try, but you'd sound really dumb.
thank you for reuploading!! i was only halfway through last time! LOL
Hannah, other than seeing my son after work, your videos are my favorite part of mondays!!
YES! Time to watch this like I've never seen it before!
I swear I already heard the mailbox story before?
@@Yuvellevin1 me too. I just listened to it last week.
And the second one with the paparazzi in the little library too
My first time hearing any of these so I’m glad 😃
It's a re-upload.
It makes me SO glad that I live in a building that has banned solicitors.
My mother is a Mary Kay rep…so she and my sister can get their products cheaper 😂 she has no clients.
Seeing this for the first time (didnt see it whenit was uploaded initially) but commenting to make the algorithm happy.
The mailbox story is WILD!
Biggest fan here! I love your videos and I binge while working 😂
"Where do my feet go?" 😂😂😂
Their MLM portrayal was hilarious.
My small town, CA just opened a paparazzi store front 😢 I’m sooo sad
im very informed about skin care and once there was a lady who approached my mom on the street who was in an mlm (mary kay) . she asked my mom if a she wanted to be some sort of model for the skincare or makeup. typically my mom does not wear makeup but she still agreed bc i wanted her to.(i thought we were doing some sort of act of kindness for the mlm lady). she came over to my moms house and my mom invited one of her neighbors and my aunt aswell. they all got to try the skincare. btw the skincare wasnt doing anything other than make my moms face shiny. the mlm lady lied straight into my moms face about the products. i coreccted her but she just kept on lying. im not saying she was intentionally lying but i just think she was uninformed. my mom ended up buying a whole box of products that she doesnt even use. the mlm lady just seemed rlly troubled to me , because she kept telling that shes is only making very few sales. i dont think she knew she was stuck in an mlm scheme.
I just finished all of the horror videos this morning so I’m so excited for this upload!!
Just looked at your subscriber amount has grown so much!! I’m so happy for you. I love the uniformity of your videos and how you read. It’s so relaxing!!
I never heard of these stories so I’m glad for this upload! 😄
