K&N FILTER UPGRADE FOR PAJERO | MORE POWER! MORE RESPONSE!

- This video is about how to increase the power of Pajero at a low cost. I used a K&n hi-flow air filter. I know that k&n is best on the road racing that's why I also purchased an extra polyester cloth for extra protection of intake. there is also an available plug and play cone filter sold by Cronos4x4 easier to install and they are using an AEM filter which is best in the dust.

I did an experiment some years ago with a BMW. I kept the paper filter and modded the airbox. It originally had a small diameter intake hose connected from the box to the wing, was only about 1 1/4". Opened the airbox intake hole out to 3" and run a fexible 3"hose to just behind the front grill. Did not think it would do much but made a hell of a difference, car was much more responsive even at low speed. I believe the paper filters are much better in your situation for keeping the sand and dust out of the engine, easier to clean them as well compared to washing out the k&N and having to oil them every time. Perhaps you could look for the largest air filter box with bigger filter off another vehicle which fits in the space available to make it even better with the larger diameter hose to the grill.
thank your sir for your input. i have the filter box now i made also to keep the hot air pushing in the filter. now the air is colder and when you run the car it make more resposive! cheers!
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE That's great new glad you found a good solution. It can't be easy driving in such conditions, thanks for the reply, good luck man.
Awesome🌹⭐️
Thank you sir!
Good review, but i still prefer AFE for offroading, k&n are best on rally though.
Are you using afe filters sir?
Awesome, does this have any impact to the filteration given the sand/desert?
yes i put the extra filtration for extra protection as the filter k&N is good in the road so we need a extra polyester cloth to protect the other dust going inside the intake..
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE thanks. Whats the difference between this fitted filter vs the kn replacement filter for 33-2164 K&N REPLACEMENT AIR FILTER Pajero
@@dhina321 i have no idea about that model, but this filter give more pickup power and end power specially when you climb dunes..
hiii boss
I like it and I want to do the same
from where did you buy these items?
yes sir sure no problem , i did the adapter in ras al khor where there are a lot of garage doing them, i bought the filter in naif.
I think do what you did, then enclose it with the standard box and pipe cold air in.
I just made a custom box with heat insulation and another tube getting cold ait in the front grill
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE where did u do that bro ? & where can we buy K&N or AFE or AEM for pajero @ best price in dubai/Sharjah/Ajman ?
bro saan ka nagpagawa ng custom air filter box?
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE
Just now i found your video , how much it cost for filter bro and where i can get it
The filter cost 200aed and the adapter is 150aed
Bro , can you give me detail of that filter , like model number or something else , cause i dont have any information to buy
Have you added any aftermarket exhaust or done any tuning?
My exhaust is modified they remove some of the cabinet inside the muffler, there is no tuning made in this car just all stock modified.
Will that cause any problem while passing?
@@pranavpradeep69 no the sound is not much unlike when you change the muffler
or exhaust
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE is there any valid garages in the UAE you can recommend? I just bought a 2020 pajero and would like to do an exhaust tuning. OR do you think the authorised mitsubishi service can do this work?
can you please share the link for this filter
Hi The filter is in the description.

to anyone considering K&N filters. don't. Been there. was the same. naive. Never, ever, again. It is a "show product" that not only does not provide any better performance but also causes issues and more issues. spent too much time and money trying to make it work long-term. it will give you "a feeling" like you have more power and for the first week you won't see any problems. longterm you will have mad/map correlation problems and the increase of the power is 0.2hp.... is it worth it? no.. but TH-camrs will try to convince you that it is a "perfect" product.
May be long term but i always clean my filters and changing my oil every 5k
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE it does not matter. you can even come and collect from me all the k&n cleaning/oil refills and everything. for free.
Lol this guy put a k&n pod filter on a car driven in the desert. Do you want to kill your engine ? K&N filters dont filter nearly as well as oem or other brands
used it for 4 years with this setup on and off-road still my engine is alive and kicking..
Bro di ba to masilip sa passiong? Reluctant ako mag cone dahil sa hayup na RTA hahaha
no problem sa passing..
Sir, anong model number ng K&N filter mo? Salamat
Re-0930 sir eto po..
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE salamat sir.
Sir good day can i use K&N drop in filter on a daily driving? Thanks
170,000+kms odo mo sir?
last 2 years sir 170k yes
now nasa 201000 na siya
Nice! Kalabaw talaga sa tibay mga pajero
It's probably making less power now
Should i go back in stock box?
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE I was liking this video and thought you knew your stuff until you responded back to this guys comment.
Now I'm not so sure.....
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE also you say this will be your last upgrade, honestly it doesn't look like you done much.
happy to show you my nw platinum diesel on fb or something.
Not trying to be a prick as I liked your video, just not sure whether to listen to you now.
@@wilmacockfit9689 just being silly LOL its been 3 years still using this filter still the best for me! its just a matter of cleaning it every moth as im playing in the sand and need to clean it. anyways even the stock filter need to clean why not this racing filter.
Engine goodbye 😥
why ohh why?
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE because such filters has bigger cells as thus they named "zero resistance" filters. They designed mostly for various drift cars and other powerful cars which should be used in the city or on track, where you won't face with dust clouds etc. and where it doesn't matter what you will do with your car on next year, cause you can brake it tomorrow on track and it's everyday activity to change the engine there.
Pajero is SUV and you use it on the off road, so the probability to take the dust from the road is higher. BTW do you know that a lot of luxury cars such as BMW, Land Rovers, Mercedes Benz - a lot of them have turbochargers and supercharges and they use usual filters, cause usual paper and synthetic filter catches very small particles which successfully pass low resistance filter .
i saw that video k&n is more good in the road but if i cleaning this filter and changing my oil every 5k will be fine but offcourse stock is better in the sand ai just want performance
@@TONGTONGsADVENTUREwell, if you don't have a supercharger - there is no any advantage on doing this. It doesn't give you the real performance. Without the measurements on the stand all your feelings is nothing ...
You made a big mistake!
Performance filters are OK on road but not good for offroad. Especially the sand!!
True but if you are always cleaning the filter and changing your oil at 5k i think its ok for me.
@@TONGTONGsADVENTURE I got a bad experience with it on my 3.2 DID diesel Pajero. I installed it brand new (K&N) and after only one day of use on the beach sand I found a noticeable amount of sand dust on the turbo turbine and inside the intercooler!!
