    Thank you. I appreciate you demonstrating how those tweezers work. I ordered them for jump stitches. They got good reviews. Unfortunately, many reviewers complained that they have changed for the worse.

    You are a genius! Love the tips and tools you are using. Thank you for sharing! Beautiful creations you've made. I would have to use a giant lighted magnifying glad to set some of those jump stitches & threads...lol!

    Great tools to have & use! I already use the snips & the tweezers. I also keep masking or painters tape near my sewing machine, hadn't thought about the packaging tape. Great video & I love the ornament!!

    I have used the tweezers for a lot of things. I’m going to have to get the little scissor snips. That would help a lot. I have used painter’s tape...I’ll have to try the packing tape. Thank You Lisa!

    I use a lint roller on the cut threads. TFS

    I'm sorry, I meant to write that the snipping tool got some negative reviews that the quality of it has done down. The tweezers got very positive reviews overall. Thank you again.

    I had no idea that you have an embroidery machine. How about that. I love mine, I just wish I had invested in getting the machine with all the size hoops, I only have a 4x7 hoop. It limits in what I can do. Nice idea with the packing tape. I use a lint roller but looks as if the packing tape works better. I love your ornament. Thank you Lisa for your video.

    Hi Lisa, very helpful video. My embroidery machine has a jump stitch setting that can adjust the distance between jumps. Check to see if you have that option on your machine if you haven't already. I jump alot too when quilting. lol. Never thought about the packing tape---thanks. I have the other tools and use them extensively.

      Mine does too, if I turn on that feature. My machine really slows down the time it takes to stich out a lot of letters when I have that feature on........I can trim jump stitches on three ornaments faster then my Bernina will do one :)

    Really cute ornament. Thanks for the tip on trimming jump stitches. I’m new to embroidery and making a quilt label. The fonts on my machine seem so big. Can your recommend a font to purchase that is smaller and still easy to read for labels?

    When longarming & doing jump stitches, how do you ensure they're not going to come out without knotting them? That's what takes me so long.

      I always do a few very short stay stitches to lock and knot the thread before jumping around :)

    Do the tweezers have a smooth or textured tips. I’ve got 2 pairs but only 1 has a texture that grabs the thread. Yours with the sharp bend would be better. Thanks!?!

    does the embroidery loose strucure over time tho? like the stiching going lose etc

    You love embroidering text? How about doing a map quilt (5'h x 7'w) and stitching over 3 million stitches, nearly all were in text squares of information. My latest map quilt has even more text blocks and map borders. Be sure to use tie-ins and tie-offs on each letter if you are going to trim all jump stitches. Be healthy, stay safe and many blessings.

    Thread zapper or thread burner is what they are called 😊

  • @ellagregory818
    @ellagregory818 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I do mine the same exact way. There are also some things that u can burn the treads with but I cant remember what they are called so u dont have to worry about cutting them so close cause u can just burn them. I've never tried those though

    Lisa, I’m curious do you use a duck billed scissors to trim the wash away initially?

    • @TheQuiltmakerHomestead
      @TheQuiltmakerHomestead  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      hello :) I use my duck billed scissors to trim away the extra fabric after the tackdown stitch of the applique, however at the end when it's all done....I just use my regular scissors and trim close to the ornament....leaving a small amount of wash away
