  • Any embroiderer knows the gut-wrenching feeling of when an embroidery project goes wrong, it can feel like you’ve ruined your only shot at embroidering on your favorite garment to a stubborn embroidery design. Don’t you wish you could erase or remove those embroidery stitches?
Well, what if there was a way to successfully remove all the thread from an embroidery design without destroying the material you stitched on? Thankfully there is, and it's called an embroidery stitch eraser!
Join John in this video as he shares tips and teaches you the proper technique for using stitch erasers on machine embroidery. Plus we’ve got 5 different stitch erasing options ranging from cheap ($6) to expensive ($80) to help fix your embroidery mistakes.
Our family has been using stitch erasers for decades! Going back to our factory days, I can’t count how many times our stitch erasers saved embroidery disasters.
The only downside is brand name stitch erasers can be pricey, so my question is, can we achieve the same results for a fraction of the price?
You’d be amazed at the results some of these units can achieve! Watch now to see which unit handles the best and which ones you should avoid.

Unknowing to me I have had the Whal stitch eraser for several years. It was sold under a different label. I have always had good luck using it as a seam ripper. I did not know about using it to remove embroidery. See what happens when one watches informational videos. Thanks John Deer for the great lesson!!

Thank you for this video! I just had the hoop fall off a very expensive jacket while embroidering and I was ripping out the stitches manually when I decided there had to be a better way and found your video on TH-cam! I ordered the Wahl Peanut right after watching and I can't wait to receive it!!

My first stitch eraser years ago was a Peanut. When it wore out I got a Wahl mustache trimmer. At a going out of business sale a year or two later I snagged a new Peggy's Stitch Eraser for $8.00! It is still working although I have had to put new blade in it. Thanks for the video!

Thank you for the pet clipper information. I have always wondered if these would work. I have trimmed my various pet poodles over the years with these clippers. I have done between their toes and do know how to use them gently. You have saved me a lot of money!

Hi John, Thank you for an update on the erasers. I do have the peggy stitch eraser myself but do not have to use it much. But that is my favourite.
    Thank you

I have been using Peggy Stitch eraser for 20+ years I have one with the date on the bak 02 I always keep an extra blade on hand. Worth every penny when you need to take out a design and it is a hard to replace a garment. I did try the peanut I was not impressed with it. I'm a Peggy fan :)

In the U.S, I've found the eyebrow trimmers for less than $2 at Dollar Tree and beauty supply stores. This was a very good tutorial. Thanks, John. I own the stitch eraser, the Wahl peanut and the eyebrow trimmers, and I was able to glean some good tips on technique.

Great video and I’m a very proud owner of the Peggy’s Stitch Eraser. Also holding the finger in the back sure does make it much easier to remove those unwanted stitches very nicely.

Thanks for the great video - some of these stitch erasers I had not heard of before. I do have the Whal Pet Pocket Trimmer, and like you pointed out - need to have a light touch I learned this the hard way with a hole in my fabric. Think I will look at the others and see if my budget will allow me to get one. Appreciate all the information and learning about these products.

Great video, thank you. I own both Peggy's Stitch Eraser and the cordless Wahl for my embroidery; however, the Eyebrow tool, which I also have, I use as a seam ripper -- I've not ever used it for my embroidery. Thank you for demonstrating the method you use when removing the embroidery stitches

This is great information, especially for a beginner like me who knows nothing about embroidering. I am actually looking for the best product to remove professional monogramming on the cuff of mens dress shirts. Any ideas which of these products might work for that? Thanks in advance.

I'm confused between the two battery trimmer options.
The first, the whal, you said worked well and the galaxy not so in the analysis of the two.
However in the conclusion you chose the galaxy over the whal, the exact opposite.

I bought a Bridgewater eraser, I came here to figure out how to use it. I never knew I could use my pet trimmers, I have a much smaller Wahl one, not much good for the dogs. I have a proper big cordless dog trimmer, with several blades, I'm not sure I want to risk using it on thread incase the blades dull, unless I choose one that is only for thread. That Peanut one, is that for dog trimming really too? I see it has combs.

    Hi John.
I've had my Peggy's for a while now. I am surprised that being a machine that has been on the market for so many years and that even has Peggy's photograph in its box, when one looks for the brand to know about its history, there is practically no information. Do you know anything else about how it came about?

    • @EmbroideryLegacy
      @EmbroideryLegacy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

I’m not really sure on the history, I remember seeing it for the first time at Bobbin World in Atlanta. I think was in my mid 20’s at the time :)

Sorry, it was the opposite end of the little cleaning brush that came with one of the items, anything, including a fingernail could be used.
