@@zarfen when desectrated/terrorized, her base monster drop can give you even zod afair, but her special drop still the same (up to Ist). Does not matter much though, any other monster as good of dropping HR in TZ as she is. (well, ghosts even better)

I have another failed channel attempt with 9 videos behind me with another game so they are not my very first videos but I’m still very new to creating youtube videos. I’m really enjoying it and looking forward to growing the channel and improving/exploring the “style” and format further. And thanks for the tip. I keep getting questions about that on every video but then I forget about in when editing the next one. For reference: 1000 meph a little over 16 hours, 1000 andariel between 15-16 hours, 1000 pindle ~12 hours, this video ~6,5 hours.
the only Ber rune i have ever found was from a Chaos Run when i was getting power leveled, i opened a chest to find a Ber rune and another low level almost grabbed it my heart was pounding.
Specifically hunting for runes is the most boring runs for me, I much rather farm act bosses for uniques. I'm glad I got so lucky this time! MF doesnt affect rune drops at all. If a rune drops is decided before MF is taken into consideration when. But if less mf means faster clear speed then ofc it helps (indirectly)
@@zarfen Wow, that shows how easily confused I am! I had to look this up (again...) - so countess you want to make sure you're on P1 in single player. The only time I think you want very low MF is when you're looking for base socketed items (i.e. to make Spirit or a merc weapon). But yeah, low MF does mean it will be pretty boring. I think the hardest thing I've dealt with is figuring out how much MF I can get away with and still get the the runs relatively easily.
@@fredrichardson9761 yeah I’m kind of sad they got rid of mf in the newer games. Balancing mf with speed and survivability is interesting when it comes to gear choices imo.
@@zarfen Honestly I think that's why D2 has had such staying power - it really does force you to make compromises on enough things to keep it interesting.
It is SO MUCH easier to farm runes especially on D2R... Try this early days in D2 original, 1 in 8000 chance to obtain something good. Then they made it easier to find those runes, then came the D2R which has even easier drop rates.
That's the main thing that keeps me away from D2. So much content is locked behind nonsense, and it's not that interesting to replay the game on hell difficulty.
1:56 -- why didn't the boots *"didn't quite get it"* ?? Your build is such that you don't lack resistances, so you should be OK that the res rolls are LOW... because *all THE REST of the stats are insane !! :O* .
How fast were each of your runs? Back then, we used to compete on Reddit to see who had the best maps and who can do the runs the fastest. I forgot though how fast we were going per run
It’s been a little while since I did the runs, but I did a mini-game of trying to do them as fast as possible. I did break 30 seconds some runs and IIRC I was nearing 25 but never hit it. I would say the average run was probably somewhere between 35-40. I had a very good map imo and I tried to skip most regular chests and popables to make runs faster. It gets kinda stressful to run LK so fast after a while though 😅

Have you found any really good ones? I’ve seen some pretty cool rares with teleport charges online but I’ve never found any decent myself so I usually end up using a staff with teleport switches on weapon switch if I don’t have enigma since they have more charges.

Np! If you want just a Gul and only a Gul, you could probably farm the countess for 2x Ist. But I would probably keep doing the chests because the chance of another gg rune (even if you’re finished, I am guessing you wouldn’t mind another HR 😉) As for chests only vs clearing the map, people have different opinions, but for efficiency I believe doing only chests is better on average, but maybe even more boring 😅

It’s only available in offline play, not online. On PC you type /players x in the chat , where x is betweeen 1-8, and on console you find a slider under options menu I think
@zarfen I never have played online. We'll with anyone else with me. If you mean offline as in what I play when the internet isn't working, I will give it a try
I think LK runs are the most boring thing in this entire game. Also if you play online these are basically useless as you mostly do them on players1 with a reset map every game, so it takes a lot longer just to even do the amount of runs, not to mention the insane luck you had with the runes. I've seen people do 10k+ runs and not find anything above vex.

I just wonder how a Jah was achieved from her as shown in this video. Hence why I asked if they had changed something in D2R to allow for this.
Hey Gintoki, you’re are correct in that her highest drop is Lo. The Jah was from a champion ghost pack in her chamber. I didn’t realize it until your comment that I cut it so that it really looks like it was a countess drop! 😆
@@zarfen Ah, that makes sense then. According to ATMA drop calculator, a champion ghost in the tower level 5 have a 1:4877535 chance of dropping a Jah rune, so that was pretty darn lucky! :D
Oh it wasn’t done in one sitting, I did these runs over several days :) I can’t imagine running LK for too long without a pause. Total runtime was ~6,5 hours
If D2 would add loot filters like PoE I’d be back to D2 probably forever. I’m too blind to sift through all the item drops as it is right now though. 😢
I would love that it would be a huge upgrade. I’m a bit disappointed it’s never even mentioned now that they are updating and patching the game again. Doesn’t have to be fancy, just some way to hide the absolute worst 😁
i have been grinding for MONTHS now didn't find anything over vex (once) in lower kurast i have a feeling that if you have a certain map in single player you get the same drops from the same loot drop boxes / weapon armor racks i find the same items over and over but there won't be any runedrops (p7 btw) i did play diablo2 singleplayer some years ago and i did find like 5-8 hrs by the same time(doing lk runs) i did find one in my current playthrough in d2r really weird if i had to guess how many runs i did so far i'd say around 3000 or so
Yeah if it also has a good secondary roll like high +all resist. I’ve never made an exile myself so maybe double check with a guide what’s more important, eth base or high all res roll

What most people don't understand is they are probably in solo games. He said in the video that he changed players to 7, so if you are playing on Bnet you will likely not be getting the same drop rate. Single player would be more better for soloing since you can change the players count manually.
okay so I ran roughly 20 ish hours of LK.... what I did find: 1 Gul 2 Pul a shitload of Ko, Fal and other mid/low runes. 1 Druid summoning skiller. a bzghillion useless jewels. some uniques and set items which no one cares about. all P7, all with 2 bonfires, a single run taking about 30 ish seconds. And all I ever wanted was a Lo Rune for fortitude :(
I have a mixed relationship with charms. They’re obviously awesome and add another dimension of loot, but they also eventually take up ALL inventory space 😅
i disagree. farming arcane sanctum is more efficent. if you play a char good for the instance. a nova sorc(no infinity) on players 7 can easy rip every mob inthere. from a few 100 runs i dropped, Lo Ohm Ber+ alot of charms and gems. the ability to drop up to cham from the mobs offset the LK runs more consistant of smaller runes.

Most BERs I ever found was gold finding Trav council with a Barb called "Golden Digger." Every 35-50 runs a Jah or Ber would drop.

Very nice results! I did a few hundred LK runs, but it did drive me a bit crazy... I couldn't stick with it long enough to get really good runes.
BTW - do you think it might help to have a low MF when rune hunting? For some reason I thought that helped - or maybe that is only for the countess...

Man the luck is insane, ive found almost nothing in about 1000 runs. 1 Gul and a few pul through ist runes.

Do you do online content or singel player mostly ?
So far only offline single player.
If you’re going to offline /players 7 you might as well just use a hero editor. What’s the point in making it so easy?
I've never made Enigma, but I do have a few necklaces that grant the Teleport Skill (charges).

No, I don’t think LK is worth it online. Both because no player setting but also because you can’t roll and keep a good map.

How long did it take you to do the 500 runs?
6,5-7 hours. Not including “prep time” (muling items, rolling a good map etc)

LK runs bore me too for sure. When doing LK or Pindle or similar I usually have TH-cam or some show up on another monitor or another device.

The chests in those huts are always super chests which have specific drop tables that are relatively good for high runes.

In single player P7 I ran 20 LK runs and a Ber rune dropped. In online I never find one. Highest rune I ve find was ohm. Never found a vex.

Wow, been casually running LK for like 10 years if not longer and never found my Bur lol congrats!
i disagree. farming arcane sanctum is more efficent. if you play a char good for the instance. a nova sorc(no infinity) on players 7 can easy rip every mob inthere. from a few 100 runs i dropped, Lo Ohm Ber+ alot of charms and gems. the ability to drop up to cham from the mobs offset the LK runs more consistant of smaller runes.

It’s slightly faster because you don’t have to walk up to each chest.
