This song is beautiful, it's about his relationship with his father, he wrote it when his father was old and sick. He returned to his father and tried to help him but his father was a proud stubborn man. Something that Bono can see in himself somewhat "and its you when i look in the mirror" and "if we weren't so alike, you'd like me a whole lot more".

Music is all personal taste but I find 'Original of the Species' a cringe inducing mess of a song, just sounds tinny to me but I'm in the minority as I think U2 peaked in 1997 with Pop and the Popmart tour, they lost their balls in 2000 but in the 1990's they truly were the greatest band on earth, I was a teenager, I watched that tour four times and it was magic, spent the next 24 years hoping against hope they had just one more magic album but they were a bit too commercial and tame for me but some here and there are good if not great, nearly all the 90's songs, 'Ground beneath her feet' 'Stateless' 'Hold me, thrill me, kiss me, kill me' 'Miss Sarajevo' we're not even on albums (yes they tacked on GBHF to some versions of ATYCLB) but they were magical, I've been to every tour since, the 360 tour looked incredible but when I look about were we used to be going mad everyone has their phones out, anyway its all taste and personal taste at that, maybe I'm wrong and they will surprise me once more, I hope so, anyway, I've been typing for over a minute so blessings from Ireland to you and your clan yeh, you want a good song try 'SAM song' by Eire Og live at the Brazen Head, don't take the lyrics to heart if you are a Brit as its just a folk song now, God bless ye mate 🇮🇪🙏🇮🇪 Erin go bragh!!!

I'm a Derryman meself but don't hold that against me, glad and proud to see you put that flag up proudly, too many of our people are sheep, too many stick that corrupt political organisations EUSSR flag up next to but more worryingly in place of, traitors I call them, the EU is not Europe it is a gravy train for career bought out traitor politicians (politician being an other word for liar) to feed off like pigs, they want our culture gone, it offends people, if you go into someone else's house and they are kind enough to give you shelter you abide by their rules and there is only so much room to be had, only so much food to be afforded and when we have thousands upon thousands of our own on the streets Eire's children should come first, I work in England, I don't get offended because it's their country, I'm preaching to the choir I suppose as I think you are a true patriot and not an EU sheep.
