Excellent video, thank you very much!! 🙏 A tip for bloggers and writers is the Really Simple Theme with the AMP plugin. The results are amazing!! I suggest doing the tests first...
Thanks for your video Tony. However, I expected a deeper analysis. I did not understand the meaning of measuring the weight of the uncompressed template, nor the number of files and folders. Both the weight and the number of files do not reflect how fast the theme is. The weight and number of requests should be analyzed by measuring the theme applied in the front of the website. That is, by measuring the template directly on the website.
Hi. I just rewatched the video and... Generate press seems like a cool Wordpress theme, but.. what's up with Elementor free? I don't see anything added to the 'normal' wordpress. Am I missing something? Where are the 40+ Basic Widgets and the website builder? All I get is the standard WP builder... Please help.
@@TonyTeachesTech OK, but then, Generatepress and elementor comparison, just as themes, doesn't make much sense. Maybe you could make a video comparing an actual theme from each of them. Cause Hello elementor is an 'empty' theme, and now that I made a page with it, I have an elementor div 'inception' as source code (div in div in div .....). On that note, Generatepress seems to do nothing (it's just a theme). You could build a sample 'nice' site on each builder, optimize them and THEN, compare the themes and make a new video:)... makes more sense.. Don't know who uses Hello Elementor as a theme, the way it comes 'in the box'...
I don't think that your tests are valid. I think that to have a fair test, the content of the different themes should be identical. That is, visually all themes should display the same. It's like taking different cars with different engines and weight and pitting them against each other. I am not a big maven in website development but I would try to make a website in one theme and then try and convert it to another theme (and fixing elements that will probably break in the conversion) and do the comparison then.
Tony - - this is a awesome video - many many thanks - BTW: it would be a pleasure if you could come up with more videos - eg. some that cover the newset version of WordPress - the V 6.1❤🔥
you're great man, thank u so much I've read tons of articles and nobody give such a clear and techy answer, I'm definetely will get rid of astra and work with generate press. Also recently I saw that elementor creates 4 times more code than Gutenberg and experts say that Gutenberg creates more code than classic editor, so I decided to use Gutenberg to reduce big crap code
Also which is the best free alternative of cpanel? Vesta has mailing issue and with opencart it's not converting images into different sizes, Getting 404 for generated images.

Neve is OK. But please keep in mind that if you purchase paid upgrade, it will become a mandatory yearly subscription. And if you decide to STOP the subscription all pro features will be stripped-away. BE VERY CAREFUL with that, if you stop the subscription many links on your site (like your custom menus liks etc.) will break and your site's SEO will be severely DAMAGED. If you are ok with yearly subscription, which has increased nearly 20% from last year, neve is OK template to use. I am very disappointed in how ThemeIsle operates.
Thanks! What do you think about the Shoptimizer, Astra, and Kadence themes?

You're right, there's no correlation between the uncompressed size and/or number of files/folder. I just thought it was an interesting comparison.

OK Got it.. you need to install all the plugins for Elementor, otherwise, Hello Elementor makes no sense:)
As you've point out, you'll also need to install the elementor plugin to get that functionality :)
