Hi Jack, I just watch a few of your comparison videos and they are great. I have Astra Pro and I’ve been thinking on buying Kadence or Blocksy for awhile but not sure if it’s worthy as I already have Astra Pro. Being honest I’ve got a bit frustrated with the Astra test on the comparison. I though the other themes would perform better but not as much shown on your test. I’m not an expert but don’t you think using Kadence blocks will give a natural advantage to Kadence Theme? I imagine it should interact better with their own theme than with other themes, specially Astra, because as you mentioned on another test their construction are different, one using CSS and the other one scripts (I guess this was the main difference). That being said if you are using a builder like Brizy (which I guess it’s not too heavy) with Astra or even Guttemberg without Kadence blocks, do you think Astra would still perform way worse than Kadence? Do you think it’s really worthy to buy Kadence to create a few blogs? I understand speed is one of the important things to help on search engines ranking, right? Hi Diogo, I was quite surprised by Astra's performance as well. I though it would be one of the top contenders. But anyway, I have tested a lot with Gutenberg blocks for example this: th-cam.com/video/dPaXh0CLimc/w-d-xo.html I discovered that with Gutenberg Blocks, it doesn't matter which you use or developers it came from, it doesn't give the theme an advantage and the reason is, all Gutenberg blocks are only used on a single page, and they have no influence as to the layout of the theme. So, even if I use the Ultimate Addons for Gutenberg for this test, which is from the Astra's developers, the test result would be the same. When you use a page builder like Brizy, I can guarantee that the result you see is going to be much worse across the board (for all themes). But, who knows, maybe Astra is optimized for page builders? I can't say for sure, but one thing I can say is that it is really tough to get results of 90 and above on Google Page Speed Insights. That's because page builders are naturally "heavy weight". They load lots of unnecessary JavaScript and CSS. Having said that, I think it is worth a try on Kadence (free theme), because it has a lot of features that Astra (pro version) has. And with the Kadence (premium version), you get a lot more. So, I highly recommend you checking Kadence out, and I hope that you move forward with Gutenberg blocks instead of page builders like Elementor, Brizy, Beaver Builder, Divi, Thrive Builder, etc. If you don't know how to use Gutenberg Blocks, I have quite a few tutorials on my channel 😊 Jack

I have been using astra for a long time. For my site, it performs better than the other alternatives in this video. It depends on the plugins that you have. I woudn't spend money on another theme if you already achieve a decent speed on your site.

I've been using Elegant Themes Divi for years now. Do you have any opinions on it? I came here because I'm considering ditching it, I think it may be slowing my load speeds, possibly a lot. But its easy to use, and I bought it back when just using a default theme in WP was impossible to learn, had no options, etc.
Yup, you've guessed it! Divi slows down your website incredibly. So, if you are ditching it, I think it is a good call. Gutenberg blocks are getting easier and easier to use every update it gets. So, I highly recommend that you bite the bullet and switch to gutenberg blocks and a fast loading theme. I recommend Kadence if you have design preference: jackcao.com/kadence

Once you factor in Kadence's user friendly environment and ability to function as a page builder with its Kadence Blocks plugin, it wins hands down.
