    Omg! I have been looking everywhere on how to make these!!! Thanks so much! My daughter loves these eggs and now she'll get to enjoy them more when i make them! :) btw, MSG has not been scientifically proven to be harmful to humans. If MSG was harmful, they would not be allowed in the country. People have different reactions to them due to different body type. FDA does have a policy that if restaurants use MSG, they have to let their customers know...kind of like an allergen warning. Most Chinese restaurants do use MSG but do not let their customers know because people are afraid that it will harm them. I have used/ate MSG my whole life and I am perfectly healthy. So, point being said, MSG is not as bad as many believe it to be. It's usage should be limited though, just like with any type of seasoning, like salt.

    I think it's so nice of you to share this recipe! I've been trying to find it the last...7 years?? A few people I know (including my aunt!!) own stores and they sell these for like a dollar each. And every time I ask them for the recipe, they say, "No, why don't you just buy it from us?" I'm so glad I can finally save on money and make my own! Thank you! Bless your heart! :)

    Can you prepare the egg mixture a day before then pour in egg shell the next day to bake it fresh?

    • @CookingwithNana
      @CookingwithNana  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, just keep the egg mixture in the refrigerator. It's also a good idea to rinse the shells with water if you won't be baking the same day or they will get crusty.
      You can also keep the baked eggs in the refrigerator for a pretty long time. Then you can heat them up when you want to serve them. They are also good served cold.

    I loved these eggs as a kid and unfortunately, I never got to watch my mom make these so thank you for making this video. Although my mom liked to steam and then BBQ the eggs, I liked your video for a base recipe and can't wait to try it out. I definitely love the tip you provided about cooking a little bit of the eggs to see if you like the flavoring so far cause we definitely don't have measuring in Asian cooking! Thank you so much for sharing!

    Thanks for the video. Very helpful. Question ; in order to make it hard how long do I leave it out for? Overnight?

  • @heavenlypurple1
    @heavenlypurple1 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    Going to try this , using 2 dozen eggs though. I had a question though have ypu used a freezer bag to fill the egg shells? I think if you fill the bag and then cut off one end it would be easier to fill it... like using pastry bag.

    • @CookingwithNana
      @CookingwithNana  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried using a plastic bag before. it didn't turn out well for me. too messy because the egg mixture came out too fast, not like pastry. please let me know if you have better luck with the bag.

    How long do the cooked eggs last, and do you have to keep them in the fridge once they are cooked? Thanks

    • @CookingwithNana
      @CookingwithNana  10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lily tube The longest I think I have kept them in the fridge is about two weeks. They usually get all eaten in a few days. I feel better to keep them in the fridge, but I have seen some people leave them out for a couple days without going bad.

      SAMZIRRA you're welcome. Important part is make sure you start off with the lowest heat your oven will go or the eggs will blow before kinds minds lol. For the seasoning, if you want to keep it simple you can just use salt and pepper.

    Yes, you can put as many egg cartons as you can fit into your oven. Cooking times may vary. You just have to check with the toothpick to see if they are done. If it's your first, I would recommend doing a small batch first, though.
