I love this cream! I just made mine last night and woke up with soft yummy skin!!! I added something extra that I believe you would love as well...dried hibiscus flowers. Did you know that hibiscus flowers have a huge amount of polyphenols in them which is great for anti aging AND has more antioxidants then the green tea does! So I gave your recipe an extra kick and It is UHmazing:) Thank you!

b.f m hi there! Yes I replace it completely with hibiscus, you could use both green tea and the hibiscus but I would make sure that the liquid is still equal amounts to what she uses in the video. I hope that makes sense.❤️

P01029 has made a good point about the Coconut oil and beeswax. Cocoa Butter and Coconut butter is 4 on the comedogenic scale of 1-5, I am assuming that coconut oil would have a similar output, you can substitute it with safflower or sunflower oils which are both 0 on the scale (also 0 on the irritant scale). Although you may need to increase your wax a little to compensate for using the softer oils. Substitute Carnuba wax (1 on the scale) for the beeswax (0-2 on the scale), you could also use Ceresin wax (0 on the scale), or even Lanolin wax (1 on the scale). It is my understanding that using the teabag should be ok because you are not mixing it with water you are mixing it with the warm oils. This would equate with making oil infusions which should be fine for at least 6 months. The teabags would only be problematic if you were to mix it with undistilled water (which may have contaminants in it). This recipe doesn't ask you to brew the teabags in water it asks you to mix the tealeaves with the oil and leave for 15 minutes, then you are required to filter it out of the mix. Vitamin E is actually a preservative as well as being a great addition to a moisturiser, so that should help to keep things fine. The five drops of lavender oil which the recipe calls for and of which you should only be using a very small proportion of each day shouldn't damage your skin in that small amount unless you have an allergy to it. Change it to another Essential Oil if you prefer. Please listen to all the advice people offer, it is a fabulous and generously offered starting point for you, then do your own research, get all the facts and then you can make your fully informed decision. Then make your cosmetics, personalise them to suit yourself and enjoy them!

First please use the comedogenic rating as guideline not a rule because the scientist use rabbit ear as subject so you can tell why the list flawed, i mean read the review from the internet, so many people use coconut oil on their skin with no problem, so try it yourself to see if the oil block your pore or not
And second vitamin e is anti oxidant not preservative

I have only made this for the 1st time today. I applied some to my face, and almost 5 mins later I checked my reflection. My face had literally transformed. I did not even think my face was dull until I put this on and my face illuminated. I have looked tired for more than a year, no matter how much sleep I have. This moisturiser has changed my life!

I made this and it's amazing! The best recipe I have tried, the consistency comes out really good. I didn't have lavender essential oil so I substituted with Orange essential oil which I love! I use this on my skin at night and sometimes during the day instead of my regular moisturiser. My skin LOVES it. I also find that applying it on slightly damp skin helps to lock in the moisture. Thank youuuu!

    • @lamiaasadiki1092

Christina G avoid using orange or any citrus fruit essential oil during the day as it is photosensitive and it may damage your skin.

    • @christinaoxo
      @christinaoxo 7 ปีที่แล้ว

ohh thanks for that tip! I did hear something like that recently, that orange oil is like an AHA and probably not safe for frequent use or during the day without sun protection. I'll stick to using mine at night for now, then lavender it is for my next batch.

Made this as soon as I saw your video! I used soy wax instead of beeswax and tea tree oil instead of lavender essential oil. It turned out amazing! I tried a little on my hand and it made my skin feel so soft, however, I don't think I strained it very well because there are tiny flexes of green tea running through my moisturiser but thankfully they don't affect the final product. Thanks for sharing!

I have been searching for a good and soothing FACE moisturizer for weeks and I finally found one! I love this because it's so simple and will last for a good amount of time. If your still deciding on making this or not, I say go for it! It's seriously awesome and I'm so glad I found this channel and subscribed! If any of you were wondering, for my container, I used a cute micro Mason Jar. Also, if you were wondering where to get mesh cloth to strain the tea with, I would recommend any place that sells supplies to make soda, beer, etc. Anyway, thank you sooo much and I love your videos!!!👌😊

last night I made this, minus the green tea part. I added my own essential oil blend of Chamomile and Geranium. it was pretty easy to do in my kitchen and make quite a bit.
Because it is nearly all oil, I found I only need a very little bit to cover my entire face.
One concern I have is oil stains on my pillow case.
    I'd love a good recipe for a day-time moisturizer.

Made this and it works amazing! I just substituted the coconut oil for shea butter since I tested coconut oil a while back and it broke me out. I added some tamanu and rose hip oil as well, Like Ela said in the description, this is definitely a night cream, since its very heavy, but works great for my skin which is oily and very prone to acne!
If you use this as a face cream I would add a few drops of tea tree for those who have acne, I'm using it as an eye cream so NO tea tree oil since that burns the eyes haha.

I've been using Rose hip oil for 3 months now(I make my oil blend with half sweet almond and half jojoba as my base, and add a dropper of tamanu and rose hip, then add drops of lavander and tea tree) and I'm completely fine, but I will use a little less just to be sure :D

Just so you know, this is actually an ointment, creams have a water part... to make this a cream, you would add an amount of water roughly equal to the amount of oil used and very slowly add it at the part where you were beating the mixture, until the oil and water emulsify and start to firm a cream... This means that the finished product is much less oily on the skin, sinks in easier and also has a more cooling effect... also, be careful with the amount of essential oil you add, as it can be quite harsh on the skin if you use too much :)

    • @Lucyclover8
      @Lucyclover8 9 ปีที่แล้ว

+AmyMirandaMakeup to be honest, I've never had any problems with beeswax or coconut oil, but I do know that beeswax can make quite a heavy cream, and if your looking to make a vegan cream obviously it wouldn't work, but emulsifying agents are something that you can really experiment with, some good alternatives are shea butter or cocoa butter... as for lavender oil breaking down the lipid layer of skin, when used in appropriate amounts essential oils are completely safe for skin, generally about 1% of the total volume of cream for the more sensitive skin on the face, and 5% for the rest of the body

Vitamin E is often mistakenly thought of as a preservative. It's actually just an antioxidant and is not antibacterial or antimicrobial. Products that contain water should always contain preservative if u plan on keeping it for awhile. Hence, it's why companies use preservatives whether they're natural or not. You'll never see vitamin E listed as a preservative.

In case you do not want to use beeswax, you can try a soy wax. I haven't experimented with soy wax but i probably will for when I try to make this. Also look for a different oil to use other than coconut oil. Im not sure about the sweet almond oil but i feel slightly skeptical of it even though it really soften my mother's skin for sure.

I love it. Thank you for sharing! I usually use the plain green tea. no oil. :-) I wash my face with "Shirataki Facial Sponge" ( sells on Amazon. I LOVE this sponge! gentle exfoliator on the earth! but it works! .) and apply on my face the " frozen green tea " that I make in ice tray. I pick one cube from the tray and apply with circle motion... It minimizes your pores. Try!

Thanks for this video. It looks awesome. I'm going to the store to pick up supplies to try it myself. Can't wait to have DIY face cream!
    Question / Request:
You mentioned combination moisturizers for day time use. I'd love yone of your recipes for a day time moisturizer. Is this one just too heavy?

This would've been great with green tea powder or oil-based green tea extract instead of the tea bags. Sometimes the leaves are scratchy to skin depending on the grade of tea people use.

I love your videos so, so much :D Thank you! They are incredibly helpful because finding reliable products that aren't tested on animals (which are also affordable) is quite tricky

Can I replace the beeswax for mango butter or shea butter?

  • @Kalia_og2281

Coconut oil or beeswax won't clog pores if you live in the tropics or where it is usually hot. Keep in mind both oils get hard below room temperature

you can still use liquids ie, distilled water or hydrosols, but you must use an emulsifier - you can get vegan emulsifiers - that way your water and oils won't separate however if you use water you must use a preservative

Cool idea! Although I would think twice about whisking the green tea, because you are throwing more oxygen into your cream and this oxidizing it more which destroys the antioxidants

I own that same bowl!! :) My face isn't a fan of coconut oil, but this recipe looks lovely! Do you think I could sub with another oil or something like shea butter?

Beeswax is no longer just a byproduct of the honey industry. It’s a industry on its own. Candle making and cosmetics around the world use tons of it. The soy wax is indeed a byproduct because the soy is never grown for the wax but to feed factory farm animals globally. I will always choose a plant base product over one that exploits animals.

This is not recommend for young teens , because during their break outs this oil would make it worse. I tried this when i was young ,
And this was a massive break out, but for skin type up 30s this is the best
