And how Marvel Rivals is an Overwatch copy but how thats ok because it has spiderman, captain america, dr doom, star lord, iron man, and a bunch of wacky marvel heroes. I also talk, almost rant about overwatch 2 and how season 12 and past stuff have erm, been making me a little annoyed and how da future of the landscape can look with games like deadlock and stuff...yeah, um subscribe?

It's mostly Overwatch 1, which is great. Played the beta, it was awesome with a team that wants to win.
Marvel license will hook everyone with a roster of recognizable characters.
It's not Concord.
It's free to play.
It's gonna be fine even if it doesn't explode overnight, but it probably will.
There's no way it could bomb like Concord.
Let's hope they don't pull a multiversus and remake the whole game in a new engine for some reason and have missing features from beta and have game breaking bugs every patch.

I think Marvel Rivals takes a lot of inspiration from Overwatch (and other games) in all the best ways, and improves upon a lot of the frustration points! Only time will tell if it evolves beyond its inspirations.
My friends and i played the beta and was blown away. We've been playing OW for years and constantly say Marvel is superior in every way. December 6th can't come fast enough. Also enjoy your channel.
Just thought of something good, imagine marvel rivals had a game mode called survival, a team dropping down in map and is under attack by constant waves of doom bots, with rest periods after each wave and base upgrades like barricades and torrents,

Yes the Overwatch 1 double shield and goat meta was so great (btw the two meta we got before OW2, people at the time were absolutely not saying OW1 was a good game)
I guarantee that if blizzard reopened Overwatch 1 servers and let people play the game along Overwatch 2 literally nobody but a small minority of player would go back to suffer on one of the most annoying meta in the history of Overwatch.
Overall, Marvel Rivals is clearly an improvement upon Overwatch formula. First of all, it's 6v6,and since 6>5, that's mathematic proof that it's better. Second, only around 50% of Overwatch characters are good for rule 34, as oppose to 100% of Rival character. Even Magneto, who's 100 years old or something close to that, is shredded. And third, and most important Marvel Rivals have Jeff, while Overwatch 2 doesn't have him anymore
3:00 League of Legends was not made to compete with something Valve made. The original DotA was a map for Warcraft 3 created by the Eul in 2003 which in itself was based on a Starcraft map called Aeon of Strife from 2002. League of Legends was a copy of that and came out in 2009. Valve made Dota 2 which came out years later in 2013.

Honestly during covid I was dumping 6-10hrs a day into OW1, I loved OW so much. But since the release of OW2 I agree the game has regressed, I don't know how to describe it but it feels like a shell of its former self. I'm so excited for Rivals, it looks like what OW used to be and I'm so ready to relive that experience OW1 provided us.

i'm sick of people saying star lord is tracer, one star lord can fly, his "blinks" are more like 3 charges of wraith form then actual blinks and his guns are completely different outside of "two pistol, spin reload", he actually has health and a completly different ult, he plays more like reaper with a different gun similar to tracers only in design and low bullets

Why do people always have to argue about which game is better or who's knocking off who? It's like that episode of South park where the Simpsons have done everything already, but the Simpsons is overwatch. When something has been around long enough of course ideas will get repeated, on purpose or not. I'm personally very happy with overwatch and a bunch of angry videos or comments pointing out all the bad stuff that happened 2 whole fucking years ago won't change my mind (I've heard it all before and I don't care). Likewise it's also really sad to hate on Marvel Rivals just because it's new or you play a different game

Everyday a part of me misses Overwatch 1. It got to a point where I recently watched all of the old cinematics (still the best cinematics in gaming btw) and I damn near broke down just realizing how we will never get that almost perfect game back. We will never see Overwatch 1 again and instead we have to deal with the corpse known as Overwatch 2. A corpse that shouldn't even exist.

Also depending on what you label as a perfect game, a multiplayer game is very likely to be up there, because it's just more replayable (not saying OW1 is up there, just a general point) Finally i think the OG commenters is more so about the mystique of OW 1 where you got bangin cinematics that made you want to know more about the characters, and new modes that genuinely kept things fresh.
Doesn't matter how strong tanks are in OW2: their main threat is the enemy tank counter swapping.
The thing about OW1 was that tanks were just as impactful as the other roles and it was more about the synergy with your own team rather than what the enemy team ran.

Marvel Rivals wasn’t afraid to make melee DPS, which puts them over the top compared to OW2 for me
To be fair, a melee DPS just wouldn't work in OW2. OW is a first-person shooter that relies a lot on poking, so a melee-only character wouldn't work. The only reason why Brig and Rein work is because Rein has enough HP + shield to just constantly stay on the frontline and Brig spends most of the neutral fight only using her abilities, not her primary fire.
I remember when we called OW a TF2 clone and TF2 for babbies. Argument being, for example, rocket jumping with soldier takes insane skill to do well, while Pharah has a button to fly. But OW ended up really fun anyway at launch.
Whining about supports and Sojourn in the current patch, and judging by the clips of Juno it is current patch, is certainly a take. A telling one. Also getting suspended for toxicity, hard self-tell. OW2 has a lot of issues but bruh.

I think we need to redefine "Copying" these ideas and abilities have been around for a long, long time and there's only so many ways you can translate them into a game.

Overwatch is to Rivals as CoD is to Counterstrike. They're the same genre so there are similarities, but the pacing is entirely different. Your base movement speed is lower in Rivals unless you're using a movement cooldown; this makes the game more punitive and catching people out of position is a lot easier. The time to kill is quicker in Rivals. The overhealing, armor, smart heals and heals over time are tuned WAY down, so people cant endlessly heal one another. OW feels like a slow slog while attempting to get a pick to swing momentum. Rivals feels snappy and decisive.

I genuinely just don't feel the appeal of Rivals, it just feels like they doubled down on OW2's too fast pacing and bulldozey playstyle issues rather than going back to OW1's chokepoint/slow-fast-slow rhythm it kind of had going. I can only hope the OW2 6v6 playtests go well and everything will fall back in line in that game. Until then though Deadlock is probably as close as its going to get. I genuinely don't think Rivals will ever capture that magic but will probably atleast have a healthy playerbase, though lower than OW2's.

LW is one of the most skill oriented characters and I don't think anyone can convince me others his grip is just a crappy suzu which means 6ou must use it way smarter there are times where I know I'm dead as a LW but I KNOW I can still affect battles by picking and saving people with Life grip it's probably my favorite ability as it uses a lot of skill and timing even a second late or early can confirm a lose and that's the best kinda gameplay

Thank you for calling out the glaring hole in Blizzards explanation about their switch to 5v5. The devs talk about role queue and the need to break goats, but not about how playing tank wasn't fun anymore and it's still not fun. People stopped playing tank because the role sucked, especially with tanks like Ball who can roll around doing whatever they want while the team is left to do the objectives. Playing tank is more stressful now than ever before. My first love in OW1 was DVa and I enjoyed teaming up with Rein or Winston. Now, in 5v5, it feels like everyone is out for themselves. Matches feel more like a race to see whose tank does first. I switched to playing more Moira and Lifeweaver, but I feel like a heal bot who helps other players have fun while I'm constantly pressing R2. I play Overwatch because I know how to play it without thinking, but I look forward to playing Marvel Rivals. I played the CBT and it was great. I fell in love with Namor, Luna Snow, Jeff and even daddy Magneto. The 6v6, third-person experience was refreshing.

Overwatch II makes it easy for me to hate it because it's somehow so unstable on my PC that I'm in permanent low priority queue since it crashes before I can get through five full matches.

Being able to use 3 tank/DPS/healer is what led to the goat meta which was worst to play than any meta in Overwatch 2, after that they locked roles and nobody really complained.
Literally anyone that played ow1 before role queue in rank below master would understand how annoying it was to play DPS and how many games would be ruined by healer suddenly deciding to play DPS cause they estimate you don’t do enough damage.
One thing I can't wait to see is the amount of hate this game will get ill still play it because it's ow2 but another one and ow2 is my favorite game but I just know it's always gonna be "complain complain complain"

Honestly I'm glad that finally a overwatch clone is actually a good and refreshing clone when the original overwatch released it was such a great game The gameplay was fun the Lore was interesting a lot of things were great at the time but now it's just a shell of its former self and every time I just see overwatch It just puts me in the disgust mood but I'm very glad that Marvel rivals are kind of the successors to the original overwatch success hopefully when the game is fully released they let us keep all The characters only monetize the skins at a reasonable price maybe like $5 15 if it's a legendary and if they really want to go competitive don't break the game don't give major buffs to tanks and don't major nerve the healers just Only slightly tipped the scales but not enough to break them if one character is doing really bad then maybe tip the scales on that character a bit more but not enough to make them broken or useless

In all these games i just want a setting to force my view of everyone to the default skin so my peanut brain can identify things easier but selling skins is where rhe money is so it will likely never happen
