I got my first pair of SLs in 2022. They work incredibly well with the Oysi medium frames. I’ve experimented with a few boots since then but I always end up back on my SLs as my go-to aggressive skate.

Ivo sold me a pair of SL'S 3 years ago and absolutely love them still, they are very comfortable and durable skates (I mostly grind Prails that probably helps). 100% agree with all the upgrades, waxed laces are a must on any skates and the Reign liners combine very very well with the SL's. I would add upgrading the stock FTL3 antirocker wheels to a set of proper grindwheels with bearings from 5050, Chroma or Sliqx. It will stop rattling sounds and improve the lock on rails and coping.

Great and comprehensive breakdown of the Razors SL! If you guys ever do a review on the Razors Cults, be sure to mention the trick where you can cut holes into the cardboard footbed to free up the pressure point caused by the T-nut UFS receivers. It worked wonders for me and now with the medium Intuition V2s, they are one of the snuggest and best fitting skates for me. I have a 278mm Mondopoint and am able to downsize into the US 8-9 Cult shell. The toebox is a bit tight like the Shift but I use a Myfit 3/4 length insole and that combined with the holes in the cardboard footbed changed the whole feel of the skate for the better.

@@Thisissoul Definitely! I learned that trick from Nate, owner of Murdah Militia aka Vintage Roller here on TH-cam. Recommended to skate them one time to create the indention of the T-nut on the underside of the cardboard footbed and then trace the outline and cut it out with a sharp utility knife. I also applied tape over the top to get it to stay in place since it sticks to the T-nut. A total game changer for the Cults!

    Prolly my favorite skate ever.
I still skate my Korey SLs
Interested in the new soul plate
Next favorite skate is the gen. Just wish they laced a row higher

The one piece soul slides amazing.. obstacles that I used to find sticky are no longer an issue now. I have to admit though they are pretty damn ugly 😂 I will go with functionality over looks for now xD

Just as an FYI, Kaltik frames won't work on the SL's because of the depth of the soulplates. I was pretty bummed to find out the hard way.

good one! I will put it in the description of the kaltik frames that this does not fit.

i ended up getting institution liners for my SL's... and there's waaaay too much room now... idk if i need to down size the shell but it kinda makes me sad cause i like the SL's but the old liner was completely warn out and i spend so much on 200$ liners that every one talks about...

I bought the 1 piece souls a couple weeks ago here in the us. I had to use a rotary tool to make them fit my 12/13 shell. Be warned you may have to do the same and its tedious and not fun. It has worked well since then but am constantly tightening the soul screws in fear of a failure since there are 3 less screws than before....

I want to buy the one piece sliders, but I’ve heard from so many people that it’s a pain to install. I also ride a 12/13 shell 😅

My buddy has the genesys in size 14 and Razors included the Flt3 with it and it looks ridiculous at 270 mm on a 318mm boot lol.

Are the Reign liners thinner than the standard? I have an 8 and they're tight around my toes. Back in the day we used to buy a liner one size up and that used to work. Can you still do that, or would an 8 Reign liner be fine?

Can you feel the hardware pressure points in the SL boot like the Cult model??

love the skate but having a hard time breaking in my stock liners....they hug so tight it makes my feet fall asleep...its been like this for like 6 months so far too.
any tips? or should i just swap out the liners...ive heard others having this same problem

    • @Thisissoul

take the liner out of the skate, put the liners in the oven for 5 minutes at 80 degrees celcius. put the liners back in and go for a skate.
They will become softer and will break in better.

I made my own custom one by glueing two small ones on top of each other. There is not a decent aftermarket alternative off the shelf.
