- Kenya: Hot air balloon safari over Masai Mara / christinapfeiffer sets off aboard Governors' Camp hot air balloon flight over the Masai Mara in Kenya during the Migration.
The pilot is Australia, Markham Boston, who has lived in Kenya for the last six years. We fly over the Mara River, wildebeest, hippos and elephants.

The Masai Mara hot air balloon price may stretch the budget but the experience is a once-in-a-lifetime trip and well worth forking out several hundred dollars for.
The balloon lands in a clearing where the staff have prepared a wonderful feast for breakfast. Imagine eating scrambled eggs and sausages while wild elephants and giraffes roam free in the distance!

If you are ballooning in the Mara it's gotta be Governors. But one of the best things to balloon over is your home town. We make a mental map of where we live - and from a balloon we can see how wrong we were. Plus its fun to see the spots we know so well - but from a different perspective.

Tricky situations ,,,?,,, I would have to say being becalmed over an area where there is nowhere to land. Ballooning is like 3 dimensional sailing, but when there is no wind at all you can only go up and down.
Masai Mara is an epitome of True Beauty!...

I certainly felt safe in Markham's hands. What's the most difficult situation you've found yourself in while flying?
The pilot told me he saw a leopard chasing a snake across the tree tops. I wish I'd been there to film that!
I make it look easy because it is a bit like riding a bike - flying by the seat of your pants. You just have to get used to the 16 second delay between burn and lift.
Not a chance, helicopter pilots use all four limbs in unison. The only thing my legs are doing are knee knocking shaking and bracing when I come in to land on the fast days. Luckily none of the passengers can see this nervous dance I do.
I really enjoyed flying low over herds of wildebeests. What's the most amazing thing you've seen from a hot air balloon?
