Sean has one of the best inspirational and life stories out there and I'm so happy that he was able to get out of addiction and is now able to make amazing videos every week for us talking about movies too much!
As somebody who isn't straight and was in the lowest phase of my life for the past year dealing with all the bullying and mental abuse, I guess this video of yours was much needed as I am leaving my past life and moving to college in a different city and your video left me with nothing but positivity and optimism. Following you since 2017 back when I could barely speak the English language, your vids kinda helped me to learn it :P
I’m sharing this with my kids someday. Alcoholism caused my parents to get divorced when I was 5, and from that point on, I made it my moral obligation to never touch a drop, or I would surely see the destruction of relationships around me. Your perspective on failure is spot on, because it is truly life’s greatest teacher. I will never forget the pain that addictions have caused to the people I love
I remember Sean brought this up in a video, finally glad I got to hear the full story As someone who wants to pursue a sound relationship with my current partner, I needed this to help me to get right Thank you Sean, may God bless you and continue to succeed!
your the only and my favorite movie reviewer that i watch and i did watch others but they were woke and say that bad movies were good and good movies were bad but you stood out to me and were more of a home viewer than a critic and your channel was really wholesome unlike the others where me and my family can watch. i wait daily for your opinion about something releases and every new information i hear about you i like you more. as a fellow christian i was overjoyed when i heard you were a pastor and everything made sense, thank you sean
This was incredibly insightful and moving. Love listening to you talk, inspiring for sure! Also, your presentation skills are excellent, you really came into your own by the end. Much respect and really appreciate you sharing this story, thank you 🧡🤍
I agree to what you say.. success is messy than people admit. When I realized that I stopped waiting to be perfect and started to work with my messy reality and vowed when I make it which I will, I will say it as it is. I won't pretend I was perfect that is how you "actually" help people
I'll be completely honest. I have never watched an inspirational Sean Chandler life video in full, even as a long-time supporter. However, this was truly emotional and life-changing, for this was extremely relatable and true. Sean isn't just your average critic, he's more than that. Thank you Sean Chandler, and get well soon Liam!
That was incredibly moving, Sean. I've seen some of your '____ years sober' videos before and they really mean a lot to me. I'm currently battling an addiction (not drug related) and I hope to use this video to remind myself of the good plans God has for me that aren't worth giving up for a bit of temporary pleasure. I sincerely thank you for sharing!
It's awesome to see a Christian being a successful movie reviewer on TH-cam. Sounds like a silly thing to think is awesome, but it's rare. Sean, if you're reading this, you're inspiring people and God is so happy for you.
@@billross9132 not having faith, I'm just saying it might sound silly to say "Wow, someone with a faith is a TH-cam STAR!" lol. I'm just pointing out that it's rare.
As someone who's a child of parents who just went through a divorce, and during that beginning time felt a huge since of living in my calling only to have my world crash down. I want to say thank you, Sean. Puts into perspective for me that it's not over until I give up, and to hear what you've said really resonates with me. Love you buddy and I have so much gratitude for what you've been doing with stuff like this. God bless!
Thank you for everything Sean ❤️ you are my favorite movie youtuber , your the one that got me into Movies and even the one that got me into collecting movies , like me and my dad love watching movies together to classic movies to new releases. You definitely got me somewhere sean where I can love movies so ya I really do appreciate it.
Not only did the video move me but reading the comments about how it moved so many other people makes me emotional. We should never be ashamed of our struggle, because so often, it leads us to our purpose. Thank you so much for sharing your story, Sean. So many of us needed to hear this.
I’m so happy for you for making this change, and I’m sure many of us can relate. When I go through some tough times as well, I play myself a movie to make me in a better mood. Lots of respect to you man, if you ever read this, just wanted to say that you inspire me. That story really is moving and I truly wish you the best
I’ve heard this story probably 10 times and I still love to hear it. I particularly always love how you say when you finally said the truth and were open about the problem you were having, is when you finally were able to become clean and get help. Thanks for inspiring us Sean 🙏
Good job Sean! You’re story is very interesting and love hearing it. I’ve been subscribed to your channel since May 2018 and have loved your content ever since then! Keep up the good work, let’s hope for 300,000 by the end of 2023!
Sean what an excellent talk!! I’m so grateful to have been following you for so long because you not only inspire me as a film critic but as a person. Thank you for being vulnerable and honest.
You’re such an inspiration Sean, and you bring so much joy and light into this world, it’s really awesome to see! Thank you for being you! Cheers and God bless!😁🙌🏻 Also, I just realized I’ve been watching you for 4 years now Sean…you were a huge impact in my love for movies😊
Thank you Sean for being so vulnerable, opening up about your past demons. You're a great role model on this platform and have brought together this community of great movie-loving individuals as a result of your passion for film criticism 🙌
Your last 3 sentences in particular REALLY hit home for me. Don’t up on your self even when you don’t visually see the greatness yet. Some of my friends feel like giving up sometimes, I gotta show them this. Thank you for this speech.
You’re the man Sean. Your reviews and rankings are fascinating but your story is even more valuable. I’ve had dangerous problems with depression and drugs before, although I’m not out the woods completely now I am not where I was, I’m in a much better place. You’re story is very inspirational, thank you. Oh and dark knight best Batman movie
Thank you Sean, this is something many people (including myself) need to hear. As someone with many struggles life is hard, but it is always easier to keep going knowing people who inspire me have also made it through their battles as well. As a young adult in today's world it is very refreshing to see someone with good values and family centered to be getting this recognition since I think we are losing that in today's world. Thank you again for keeping me on track :)
Amazing. Can't wait to keep watching your videos for years to come. They always bring me joy during my long days. Glad you did not quit when it would have been easy to quit during dark times.
Hey Sean, I have to say something. You are an amazing speaker. Would love to see you do a TED talk someday. Anyways, I am happy that you were able to rid yourself from the addiction. God bless. 🙏
Hearing your story is always inspirational, but this was your best telling of it. It was so well put together! Also it's really cool seeing one of your favorite TH-camrs being so openly a man of God!
Incredible journey and happy for your success your one of the reasons why I started my own channel I love talking about movies and also talking about video games and listening to a video of yours previous I finally pushed myself to do it
It's great to hear you're story and how far you have come and now I'm excited and tune into every video you post it's definitely one of my favorite things to see on TH-cam!!
I kinda teared up a little when you talked about your life and how much alcoholism affected you so much. And I'm a grown teenager who rarely get emotional on stories like this.🥺 I'm very happy your life is doing well, Sean.
That was beautiful and really makes me think about what I truly wanna do in life. I may not relate to a bunch of it but It hit me in a way that opened my eyes to possibilities
It was really interesting to hear your truly motivational life story, and how all the struggles paved the way for a successful career on TH-cam. I wish you good luck on everything moving forward.

God bless you, your family, and your work Sean 😎. Thanks for your transparency and congrats on your success in sobriety and your career. P.S. A Better Help ad played after this video and I'm like that's fitting I guess lol.
Glad you're still around Sean! I love your reviews because you are able to describe a films failures dispassionately and analytically. Not to name names (cough cough critical drinker cough cough) but some reviewers get so amped about a project from the trailers or comic con panels before giving a show a chance. That over zealous fanboy passion really kills credibility. But you are the exact opposite! So thank you. Doesn't hurt that we rarely disagree LOL
I'm currently battling an Addiction (It's not Alcohol or Drug, or anything like that, It's where I Pick my scabs like Mosquito Bites or things of that Nature) and it Made Me took a Break of TH-cam
