SPOILER: I knew the siblings weren't kids, I was leaning towards them being dogs. Having them be dolls was a pleasant twist, and gave the story a great creepy after-taste.
Yeah, same. I expected dogs. From pretty early on there's some clues they weren't kids. I did initially suspect dolls or cats as well, but then there was the bit about the mother taking them to work to show to her colleagues (which to me, ruled out dolls and mostly ruled out cats because they're a nightmare to take anywhere), and dressing them up in costumes (which also made cats seem less likely as they hate getting dressed up). So I figured dogs. Now what's disturbing me, is what adult takes three dolls to work to show to her colleagues?!
Wow. This was a combination of the perfect story and the perfect narrator. I won't issue a spoiler. I never saw the twists coming. This story is so well written that it demands to be read by a first rate narrator, and it was. I don't think most professional voices out there could pull this off. Thank you, and well done, sir, well done.

Sadly, I was spoiled by the first comment (my fault for reading before finishing the video, I know...😑) But this was one of THE most unique stories I've heard in a LONG time. I had assumed that the narrator and his siblings were triplets; I have a pair of male twin cousins named "Ryan" and "Bryan", whose mother used to dress them in matching outfits when they were kids, so NOTHING about the way the "mommy" in this story treated or behaved with the three of them struck me as odd. My blood boiled at the way the @bu$¡ve new bf encroached upon their lives and slowly started taking over, like a virus spreading. Even when he took over the triplet's room I wasn't tipped off. I actually grew furious that "mommy" was willingly allowing her children to be displaced for this man! WHERE were they supposed to sleep now?! This story did a *FANTASTIC* job at keeping the twist a secret. I would LOVE to hear more from this author! 😊

I've seen cases where daily uploads facilitated near exponential growth and some lasting inertia, as well. I really like this genre and I feel like if it takes off, it may get people back into reading and writing, it's kind of like the new book on tape. Before I found this and a few other channels, I hadn't truly immersed in anything other than non-fiction for like ten years, for various reasons. We can bring back Grimm's Fairy Tales and that kind of stuff, and that haunted and ethereal "enchanted forest" vibe, which had begun fading away. Just my 2c and thoughts on things.

I collect a few types of dolls, and DAMN! That is the LAST thing I expected! The only thing more frightening than psychotic kids are psychotic dolls, although I was definitely liking those kids! 😉
