dude, believe me, i love both your content and the way you narrate the stories. So dont take this the wrong way when i say that i thank you for choosing a story without rules for a change
I think those of us that regularly listen to creepypastas are burnt out on them, but there’s a new bunch of viewers coming in that love them. Creators can see a lot about trends, so I’m sure there’s a reason. I’ve noticed a lot of channels doing them, so I just skip over those videos
Yeah, I don't mind the _premise_ of rules stories but not a lot of them are told well. I don't feel like it works when someone is given a literal numbered list and then events play out exactly as written
LOL. Yeah, the rules thing has been turned into an overused cliche. "You didn't follow the rule!" It's like I sometimes want to drop kick the rules to the next state.
The thing is…. He DID! He packed extra batteries AND a second flashligh. So wtf🤣😱😂. I kept wondering why he didn’t switch to his other flashlight 🔦. It’s a hard rule btw, that you should never enter any cave with less than two flashlights and a head lamp on your helmet. Now if the Author had mentioned that he dropped his backpack in his haste and terror to get away silently….then that would’ve taken care of the flashlight loophole. Editors folks - this what they’re for, not letting this stuff slide.
First thing I thought when the light flickered, was because he was near the coffins. Know what I mean. So I thought he'd use the flickering as a kind of warning when the family was near, especially when it happened again when he first left coffins and went down tunnel to escape. Like a diy vampire tracking device. Something MacGyver would make eh? Thanks again Lighthouse and author.🧡🙏🏼
@@MicShay That makes absolutely no sense in the context of the actual story, though. He didn't know the vampires were down there. He'd never been there before. He didn't know vampires existed. He didn't do a thing to the flashlights to rig them. He said right in the story that it was because the batteries were being wonky.
This sounds like it could be a close prequel for the story about the family who owned a hotel/BNB and the vampire family came from the local cave system.
This story had me gripping the edge of my seat. The suspense and eerie details were so vivid, I felt like I was right there with you. This truly sounds like a nightmare come to life

@ “I’m trapped in a blizzard and I think something is hunting me” by Michael Kelso. Just the feeling of being lost in a freezing blizzard with zero visibility scared me. Then you add in a monster and well …

Good stuff. Better than usual, even. And, I've seen a couple others in the comments say this already, but I'm quite happy there wasn't a single darn rule in the whole story. Breath of fresh air, that. Not that I dislike all of the rules based stories, mind you, but good grief there have been far too many of them as of late. Everywhere, just to be clear. Not just this channel. But yeah. A good change of pace, in my humble opinion.
Yay! I graduated highschool with help from Spelunking. I didn't try very hard or not at all with homework but I tested very well and liked literature. I had to make up my credits with 3 years of summer school, a semester of night school to take advantage of an extra credit for work study program as I had a job, and one correspondence course. I needed one credit. Anything I found in the course selection. Spelunking. Cave exploration. I graduated highschool with one last credit from an online course in Spelunking. True story.
Dang it. When he mentioned a wooden box, my first thought was 😆 pirate treasure! But then he mentioned it was a coffin. I get that it’s sometimes normal for caves to be grave sites or ritualistic burial grounds but dang. It probably could’ve been some other stolen treasures or money from cowboys and others.
@@sydneyrose6455because that’s what you do when you find random coffins just sitting in a cave where there aren’t supposed to be any, especially just sitting out in the open in the cave lol. You open them.

Hi Stephen!! I hope you and all your horror fans had a very merry Christmas! Wishes to everyone for a Happy New Year! I love vampire stories ❤️ , thank you Stephen. Good ones are few and far between, this one is a good one!
Was it the one with the old feral vampire at the bottom of the ladder in the cave system? I think they were park rangers and it was a new one and the old ranger that got eaten
Like the Holders creepypastas back in the day....some were kickass..others, just ass: In any city, go to the most rundown bar at 5 minutes to last call and order an old timey drink no one orders anymore. If its sufficiently obscure, the bartender will set it in front you and nods to a shadowy figure at the end of the bar. "Compliments of the gentleman." This is the Holder of Regret, etc, etc...
FWIW, I really like the Lighthouse idea. I can listen to these stories in the background as I'm doing other things, but when the story ends, and it's time to check the current "occupancy" of the Lighthouse, I can't help but switch back to see if any of the characters made the cut.
