Another method of killing scarabs if you haven’t gotten to the staffs or black ox crossbow is that you can use the crow feather crossbow, upgrade it to level five and use that to shoot any candy arrows and it should one tap the scarabs if not it will kill them after the affect of the candy does damage. I personally found this helpful even before I got to making tier 3 upgrades and it is a good way to stock up
Candy arrows? You means sour or spicy arrows?

or just shoot a super gas arrow near them and the AOE will kill them lol
I use the same spot to farm, but I take out the green shield bug and then just use splinter arrows with the crossbow. It's a one shot kill on the scarab.
A nice little black ox bow with some bomb arrows.
That’s a pricey cost for shells lol some what of a fair trade tho if you always get 2 shells

Dude I always saw the scanner show the twinkling shells under the shed but I didn’t realize they were in that pipe lmao. I look at those scans and saw it as impossible cause I assumed they were In The dark somewhere on the ground level.

Grinding to 100% here, getting close but want some beefier weapon choices. I think I'll try that tube, but since they can't burrow, nerf my unarmed damage and equip sticky fingers/rascal rogue and see if I can't slap a few extra shells out of 'em per run...

OMGosh thank you Sim! I've been having the absolute worst time killing the scarabs and I need to upgrade a couple of weapons. This is extremely helpful!
Another way to kill them is a black ox crossbow (level 5 works), make super gas arrows and with your level 5 black ox crossbow shoot them and it wont kill them but the gas will damage them
Level up your crossbows. 1 shot kill. And good accuracy at distance.
Out of topic, when I fought my first green shield bug, it got stuck in the ground

@@SirSim-Alot also I did it again and got 21 or 25 some where there with only 4. I’ve also been using the dissection expert mutation to get more parts
level one staff can do it don't need to be level five
I upgrade my crossbow first to level 8 and use tier 3 arrows or a fresh rusted spear level 8. And when I hunt for them, I always save when I arrive at the area. That way I don't have to use the scanner again for their new location. If I'm high up, I can take several shots without alerting them. If I'm on ground level, I'll have Natural Explorer Mutation on, and try to run up from behind to shot an arrow or throw a spear.
If the spear doesn't kill it in 1 hit, you can still pick up your spear and melee as they're trying to burrow.
Dissection will give you a chance for 2
