At 4:30 you say that this will work without the app. I don't think that is correct. There were abilities that add to timer so it would be difficult to add those seconds on any other timer. Also you make story progression choices that you input in the app - I doubt they will have a tabletop book for this to explain all the branches to do that manually, but maybe.
@@BoardGameHangover in terms of how the pledging works, is that the final price? 140 for the deluxe, or is that just the pledge and I have to pay more after the campaign ends?
@@BoardGameHangover so just shipping cost in addition, that's not bad tbh. I was just worried there's like a final price that's gonna inflate it to 400 or something lol. I have no idea how these pledges work
The timer requirenent and the resulting fake "stress" / tension / action" just doesn't do it for me. Tension and action must come from the actual gameplay as a whole and not from a singly, arbitrarily slapped upon, external mechanic. Project Elite did it right with the timer truely woven into the gameplay. Here I just don't see it. Also, the utter lack of lore and fluff is shocking.
I'm sorry but any timer is a fake stress and tension. You deal with it everyday at your job demands. Also have you bothered watching the developer videos? They're intentionally not showing the lore and fluff to not spoil the game
Hummm i think this boargame is an euro rpg with cyberpunk skin, it looks very generic if you compare it to the ttrp or the video game. Upgrades are just cards with icons, no lore no fancy rig or chip or implant.... no sandevistan..... just a generic rpg sistem with a skin
Thanks guys looks like a cool game but not something I would buy. Regarding doing BG revieing full time, the problem is that you and every other board game content creator (and you know, there are a lot) want our money, so unless we as viewers subscribe to everyone we like then it's just not feasible to support everyone. I subscribed to your channel, but I don't "Like" videos because TH-cam puts it in a stupid list. That's the best I can do. :)
I like them, so I subscribed. Prefer their videos to other reviewers, plus production value much higher here. Takes a lot of work to do all that quality b roll + writing + editing...
The gameplay just looks aweful. As you're mentioning, it then depends a lot on how you shuffle your cards, how fast do you roll the dice. Also without being able to reflect what action is currently allowed I assume a lot of errors will be made (and since your under pressure, nobody can really check). It's a hard pass for me!
Just finished my first playthrough of the video and while I loved the IP, I don't think this board game would get a lot of table time for me and my group. I would definitely play if a friend backed it, though!
There is a turn limit, it’s listed on each mission card at the top. However, I may agree on this with you, that a limited number of turns might just be all the timer you need instead of an actual timer.
Haha, thanks for letting me know that I should include answers to "how much shuffling is shuffled" in the rulebook! I'll add it inthe next revision!
You are very welcome. ;)
Pledged (special ed.) Can't wait to jack in, my chooms. Hyped!
Same!
I love the IP and looking forward to seeing how this campaign turns out. For now I am backing it. The Witcher Old World is fantastic.
-"What are you doing right now"
- "Im going to...."
- "IM NOT PAYING ATTENTION" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'd love to see how this plays solo - I play the skrim board game solo and enjoy it, so fingers crossed here
Thanks for the great video & candid discussion
Confirmed - skills will be progressed through campaing and they are working on eddies system, so you can spend them in Nigh City
Cyberpunk 2077 phantom Liberty dlc is a masterpiece. I am a big fan of the gsme and am very curious about a board game adaptation or experience.
Looking forward to this game!
Would you guys mind adding what you think is the optimal number of players?
Love your reviews either way.
That's useful information.

No, they claim the app is going to be optional. But we're not sure how adding extra time mechanic will work
They had an update claiming it would be optional. No clue how that will be implemented, though.
Not going to back this or other game in near future. Unless some crazy good area control shows up😅
I never touched a boardgame in my life. Is it stupid if I just wanna get this for the miniatures and painting them? 😂
Nah, go for it. Especially if you like the theme.
@@BoardGameHangover in terms of how the pledging works, is that the final price? 140 for the deluxe, or is that just the pledge and I have to pay more after the campaign ends?
You will have to pay shipping and possibly VAT. Depending on what country you are from.

I love project elite so this is right up my alley for exciting gameplay
@@White1148 In Project Elite all players play simultaneously, 2077 players take turns but in real time. That's a bit clunky

I think it needs a turn limit rather than a time limit

Application based realtime boardgame
Okay, this one is not for me
