Great lists! You've piqued my interest in 20 Strong now as a possible replacement for One Deck Dungeon. For me, the most played this year are: Filler: Love Letter Family: The Search for Planet X Solo: One Deck Dungeon Euro Hybrid: Everdell Story/Campaign: The Crimson Scales (Fan made Gloomhaven expansion) Party: Ready, Set, Bet! 2 Player: Backgammon
Thank you for this video! It was great to learn about Zing-a-Zam. I will definitely be looking out for it :) I only have 293 plays so far this year but I am hoping to get a lot more over the holidays! My most played games of the year are: Filler - Memoir '44 (great to get a quick game in with one friend while waiting for others to show up) Family - Wingspan (not a traditional family game but this is realistically what my parents and siblings want to play when we are together) Solo - Final Girl (I've been really enjoying the Slaughter in the Groves and the A Knock at the Door feature films) Euro - Scythe (I don't own my own copy but have three different friends who do and so get a lot of time with it) Campaign - Oath: Chronicles of Exile and Empire (16 total plays and I still can't get enough) Party - Unmatched (I have started collecting all of the sets and even organized a 16 player tournament on my birthday) 2 player - Magic: The Gathering (although sometimes I've played multiplayer formats like cube and commander, I mostly played standard this year as I really enjoyed the Wilds of Eldraine set) Happy holidays to you both and I look forward to your content in the new year!
Filler: Kingdomino Family: Everdell Solo: Newton Euro: Ark Nova / Brass birmingham Campaign: Tainted Grail/ Jaws of the lion Party: Sherlock Holmes Consulting Detective 2 players: 7 Wonders Duel Honorable mention: Race for the Galaxy ~1300 games on BGA. I don't like counting BGA games but I had to mention RFTG
Great list! My most played games of 2023 are: Party - Crokinole 2p - Onitama Family - Marvel United Co-op - Marvel Zombies Filler - Bullet ❤ Solo - Warp's Edge
Root is my favorite and most played game by far this year with 50 plays so far. Scythe follows that with 30 plays with about half of those from playing the Fenris campaign twice (once solo). Everdell has 14 plays (maybe half of those with one of the expansions), and Dune Imperium has 9 plays. Those are my top games. Expeditions and Apiary are up there, too with 11 and 10 plays.
I noticed you listed MTG. I would also highly recommend Yugioh Speed Duel! It's a very simple and easy introduction into a popular TCG. Speed Duel is super accessible and when you buy a box, you get 8-10 pre constructed decks, which are very fun to play back and forth. It is extremely cheap (10-15 dollars for a Speed Duel box) very interactive, easy to learn, and very accessible even to those new to the game. Love it to death.
How many plays of Wonderlands War did you get to this year? Was surprised to not see it here. I’m currently waiting on the second Kickstarter edition with the expansion. Can’t wait.
Just a few plays at the beginning of the year because the game we reviewed was not our copy and we had to give it back to the owner. I'm waiting for the same KS to get back to it! Super excited!!! /JT
10:05 your guys disagreement for "fun content", is actually my least favorite part of the videos you guys make. It feels kind of childish, for a channel that produces great content. Just my opinion, will still watch most of your videos ❤
MTG is my most played game of the year. And for every year since 2012. It can easily be the only game you ever play and it will eat all of your money. Funny enough, I consider it a 4 player game more than a 2 player game since Commander is the only way I play now. Thank you for the awesome list!
384 plays from march Filler: Port Royal (26) Family: 7 Wonders: Architects (21) Solo: The Castles of Burgundy (2) Euro: Lost Ruins of Arnak (14) Campaign: Wonder book Party: Similo (48) 2 player: War of the Ring: The Card Game (5)
My list with these categories (with number of plays). Filler: The Crew (28) Family: Harry Potter Strike (66) Solo: Turing Machine (23) Euro: Spirit Island (31) Party: Just One (20) 2 player: Hanamikoji (11)
Dungeon Fighters sounds really fun, not heard of it before! The thing with dexterity games is that they can get old pretty fast - is that also the case here?
Have you guys tried Dune Imperium: Uprising? The day it came I was hanging out with a bunch of friends so we tried to the six-player variant. I normally am not a fan of team games but it was honestly amazing. I loved it a ton and I’m excited to play a normal game of it soon.
For me, the most played this year are: Filler: Take6 Family: Clank Catacombs Solo: Arkham Horror LCG Euro Hybrid: Dune Imperium (already bought Uprising!! love it! pls review Uprising) Story/Campaign: Clank! Legacy Party: Zoo Vadis 2 Player: Klask
@@BoardGameHangover holy crap you guys commented lol I was surprised it wasn't most played euro game in your video , but I have not tried dune yet so I have to give it a try now.

I expected to see Shores of Tripoli as top 2 player game from Janis G.
Somehow I cant seem to talk JT into a game of this ;) Shores came in as my 3rd most played 2p game. /JG
What are your guys favorite games for 2 player? We like medium Intensity games with combat usually!

Not yet! We should receive it next week! I'm quite skeptical of the 3vs3 variant, but I hope to be pleasantly surprised just like you /JT
