      @FamineAshleyX_FamiDevil Then why are all these big restaurants closing too??? Because of costs which includes the permit... Hello! Every penny counts for all business owners. Plus, those vendors out on the street are unhealthy... all the dust/dirt (that were exposed to sewage, homeless & animal urine/stool from the dirt, ...) from cars passing buy and the wind lands in the food = unsanitary & unhealthy in my opinion...

    • @zzzmisun
      @zzzmisun หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @FamineAshleyX_FamiDevil O! Don't be naive... Mostly, all those food vendors only accept cash, so guess what!!!? They aren't reporting all of their earning, therefore can really afford the $541 permit fee...

    If they can't pay $541 per year they shouldn't be in business. What do brick and mortar stores pay? What do online and other businesses pay? I'm guessing street vendors don't pay income and employee taxes. What about business insurance? Does the health department do inspections and issue certificates or citations? I'll bet they declare under $12k per year in income so they fall below the poverty line so they don't have to pay income taxes and can still get state and county subsidies. Plus child labor laws, many have children working at these stands. Did you know at street fairs vendors must abide by safety rules like no grills or boiling pots of food on the tables facing customers, that all has to be kept away from the front table. Wait until a table collapses or the pot or grill is dumped on customers, or a small child scalded - where's the business insurance? I think it's a scam people can do this. It's all over my neighborhood in the AV, they just set up on the sidewalks.. and they sell flowers and other crap in the middle of the road at intersections which is also illegal. I wouldn't take a chance eating at one of these makeshift vendors.

      It's called empathy and fairness. Try it sometime. Think of situations OUTSIDE of YOURSELF. How it will affect the community. Now businesses who not only pay high lease/rent have to pay 10x more than some street vendor parked in front of their business. They pay more taxes than these cash street vendors that hide their profits. Do you want these businesses to fail? Retail fronts empty and the streets lined with crappy street vendors? Maybe try Mexico. The fair thing would be to make them both pay the same amount of fees or the store even less because they actually pay taxes.

    I’m all for vendors doing things legally but I have to pay the state for my license and then my city for the permit…. And that rounds up to $1300 yearly. Why dont we get our fees dropped to $27????

    I live in Orange County and I am glad they are doing this. That will drive all the street vendors to one location since it is legal and cheap. I can enjoy a quiet neighborhood with nice brick and mortar and drive to Los Angeles for the 8 dollar burritos. Everyone wins. The ghetto people get their street food and the clean people live without dealing with this.

    Yeah now how will the stores who have to pay lease/rent on top of all these license compete when some vendor can just plant themselves on the sidewalk right next to their business? Now the streets will be lined with vendors while stores go out of business. The homeless will start vending now too.

    ... Great, so these turkeys operate without paying taxes, insurance, health benefits, etc. ... And are given this massive reduction in permit costs, so they can continue to operate without paying taxes and related overhead ... Meanwhile, our DMV has trimmed down to two or possibly three days per week, while refusing to perform 90% of what they were doing ... And, increasing the costs of registration and everything else ... Right, this all makes a lot of sense ... NOT ...
